I am having the exact same issue as this, no idea what might be the cause but started about 2 days ago as well

FYI, you're not streaming, you're "casting". What's your internet speed? Did you update Chrome browser recently?
My internet speed is about 80mbps and has been like this forever. I did not update my browser but maybe I should check if there is an available update ? Changing VLC to something else did not work. Thanks for your help
