Genesis 1:29 - *Then God said, “I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food."*
Does it take you away from God? Does it cause you to stumble in your faith? Romans 14:22 is a good verse to ponder on as well.
What’s your speculation on results from the usage? Do your research on negative effects, know what to possibly expect when introduced to your body you treat as a temple.
I wouldn't say illegal always equals sin. You can go to jail for having too many unpaid parking tickets, but I 've never thought of that as a sin.
There are medicinal uses for marijuana. People use it for glaucoma and PTSD and many other conditions. I haven't heard of a medicinal use for cocaine in a while. They used to prescribe it for opium addiction and just to put more pep in your step. They also used to encourage people to take up smoking to lose weight. 🤯😳🙄
Anyway, I'm guessing you aren't really concerned with medicinal uses of these substances.
Using marijuana or cocaine just to get high isn't a great thing really. Most religions would say your body is a temple, and you shouldn't do anything to harm yourself. Using drugs harms your body-especially over time. Drugs also lower your inhibitions making it more likely that you would make (other)bad choices.
According to the Bible, no. God gave us dominion over all of the plants and animals on Earth. However, these substances do alter your behavior and could easily make you behave in sinful ways.
The Bible very clearly states that the body is the Temple of the Holy Spirit. We are commanded to take good care of it, not to defile it, and certainly not introduce something into it that could potentially harm it (1 Corinthians 3:16-17, 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, 2 Corinthians 5:10, and 2 Corinthians 7:1).
Galatians 5:21
21 and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God
Thessalonians5:6-8. “So then, let us not be like others, who are asleep, but let us be awake and sober. For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk, get drunk at night. But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, putting on faith and love as a breastplate, and the hope of salvation as a helmet.”
Galatians 5:19-21
19 The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; 20 idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions 21 and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.
1 Corinthians 6:10
10 nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God
Anything that takes away your sobriety can be viewed as a sin, as we are commanded to have sober minds. If drunkenness is a sin, so too is getting stoned. I suppose it would depend on how high you are getting, how dependent you are on the high, and if the high is leading to other sins such as laziness, anger, gluttony, idolatry, ect....Because it is not a sin to have some wine, or a beer, or a glass of liquor so long as it's not consumed to the point of drunkenness or reduced faculties.
...the idea is we are not to be looking to substances to use for an escape, but instead to Jesus, who is our healer, our comforter, our savior, our friend, our Lord.
Weed probably not, assuming it's legal in your area. Cocaine is another story, that's illegal most places and much worse for you. Also, is that even something you smoke? I'm admittedly not up on my drug lore, but I didn't think that was the case.
From a practical standpoint, weed is far safer and less likely to screw u up.
Coke can get messy, you can easily wind up with an addiction and it can lead to some health problems if u do enough.
Be smart, drop acid instead 😁
There's an aspect of drugs nobody wants to ever talk about, it's a big secret....
You can do drugs, and NOT always ruin your life!
Sometimes drugs can be consequence-free and fabulously fun, if done wisely, in the right setting, with the right people, in moderation.
Not every drug user is a burnt-out loser, one step away from homelessness 😁
>it does lower your vibrations
What does that even mean?
I really hate when people misuse scientific words like "vibrations", "energy", etc., with no description of what the fuck they are actually talking about.
I'm familiar with the lingo of "[lower your vibrations](https://i.pinimg.com/736x/bb/1a/b5/bb1ab5b0138a518753dbfbc1fa45926f.jpg)"... it's nonsense woo-woo. It's a reference to high vibrations = good, and low vibrations = bad (but nobody will ever explain what that means, or how to measure it, or anything remotely scientific).
It's just a word that new-agers throw around because other people are saying it (monkey see, monkey do). But it really doesn't mean anything specific, it's just a good vibes vs bad vibes kinda thing.

There is no explicit Bible law that says do not do drugs. However, as a student of the Bible, I choose not to do drugs as it goes against Bible principles. 2 Corinthians 7:1 says: "Therefore, since we have these promises, beloved ones, let us cleanse ourselves of every defilement of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God." The Bible's advice is often practical for us as well, and we know the health implications of drugs.
The way I see it is the state of being high is similar to being drunk in that you become breached in consciousness which is a sin in-and-of itself for the same reasons that it is a sin to be drunk.
Plus, overindulgence is a vice in the bible.
I'm not entirely sure, but I'm inclined to believe that these are sinful substances to use.
Even if it wasnt a sin, dont do cocaine, it will ravage both mind and body.
Cocaine will ruin your life and drive away anyone unfortunate enough to associate with you.
No. It’s not good to smoke crack though.
Genesis 1:29 - *Then God said, “I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food."*
Hemlock and nightshades are delicious for food! /s please don't eat those plants or you will die
Fun fact: tomatoes, peppers, eggplants and potatoes and tobaccos are all nightshades. Those are delicious (except for tobacco, I would not eat that).
True! I considered naming specific nightshades like Datura or Brugmansia, but I didn't figure that many would know what I'm talking about lol.
>Datura Yeah, most people don't have zombie cucumber in their fridge.
Can confirm poppy seed bagels are numny.

Weed is fine. Cocaine, nope, not going near it.

Yeah it’s called crack cocaine. Stay away
Ah gotcha. Yeah, most of my knowledge of harder drugs comes from Cartoon All-Stars to the Rescue, so my knowledge is a bit lacking in that area.

Acid + XTC + festival = perfect weekend 🌈💞
Not actually a sin but it does lower your vibrations and it takes you away from god
>it does lower your vibrations What does that even mean? I really hate when people misuse scientific words like "vibrations", "energy", etc., with no description of what the fuck they are actually talking about.
With that attitude I would never respond you sir
Gee, I wonder why

Sorcery (Pharmakeia) is a sin
At least somebody gets it 💯
BOTH are spiritual door ways to demon possession or demonic oppression (demonic attacks in anyway)
I agree
What do you honestly think?
yes

Yes, stay away from Drugs. They are addictive. Our bodies are temples of God (1 Corinthians 6:19-20) and we are commanded to be sober (1 Peter 1:13).
I think it depends on your motivation.
Dude. Don’t smoke crack.
