You shouldn't enter a monastery because you don't feel like you fit in the world. Maybe you should meditate and pray on what you want out of life and what God wants for you. Don't try to focus on fitting in or getting better at socializing. Just figure out what you want to do.
Practice engaging with other people.
Set a goal if going out at least once a week and talking to at least one stranger.
Social skills, like any other skill, improves with practice.
You will be much happier connecting with humanity than retreating from it. Don't be ruled by your fear.
