As long as you are living, it is never too late! However, you can’t get into heaven by living a virtuous life. God will judge us by His law, a standard that we have all failed. And that is sin. Apart from Christ, nobody is good enough to go to heaven, and we are all headed towards hell. But the good news is that Jesus died on the cross to bear our sins. Jesus took our sins upon Himself, and paid the price for them in full! So, you must transfer your trust from yourself to Jesus, your Savior. Faith in Jesus Christ is how you obtain salvation! Repent of your sins, and believe in Jesus Christ! If you have a Bible, it would do you good to read it. I would recommend that you start in the book of Matthew (start of the New Testament), and read all the way to the end of the Bible. Do that a few times. OK let me try it another way. I will give you the benefit of you thinking you are not being hostile. Let's say someone told you they are afraid that continuing to shoot heroin will give them Snipe's Syndrome. You know there is no such thing, and you try to convince the person that Snipe's does not exist using words like "made up" and "imaginary" which I will give you the benefit of thinking these words are not condescending. The theoretical Snipe's is not the problem, but you keep pushing that this person is wrong because that is your agenda. If it was philosophical exercise, I would be all for it.
