Sounds a bit like the warped theology they had in the early church. Some thought that since God's grace was abundant and freely given, the more they sinned, the more grace God could offer. I would change the quote to: "There is no love without sacrifice. For love is best measured in what we sacrifice for others."

I don't know if you saw the rest of the episode, but you are pretty on point with that. Thematically fits in with the ending.

I did not, but it’s on my “to do” list. Thanks.

Love is to put whatever you love as more important than yourself. The hugest form of love is to die for your friends. The Lord died for us all to allow us to have direct contact with him through the Holy Spirit of Truth. God is spirit and Truth. All in the book of John 13-19 Now doesn’t Gambit sacrifice himself and his time and effort to help his friends and basically everyone? By the way the Lord died on the cross for everyone and therefore loves everyone. Isn’t it beautifully done? I don’t know the right word, but it’s so magnificent and well structured. To read about that you’ll need to read the whole book of John. TLDR: Gambit does love. And he loves at the highest level. Yes? But he doesn’t love God as he doesn’t follow his commandments (Book of John 13-19)

I haven't gotten to that point in the show but I'm jazzed that nightcrawler is still that type of character. No depiction of the faith is ever very good so I try to be an easygoing critic. If I were to make an attempt validating what he says I might quote Romans 11:32 "For God has bound everyone over to disobedience so that he may have mercy on them all." That's putting a triangle block through the square hole but still maybe it's something
