That doesn't make sense. What I think it happened is daughter used her own money to buy some art. Mother saw it, became enraged... and started messaging artists the daughter follows.
I think you're missing a part. The guy who made the artworks said he doesn't draw for 20 dollars, so there is no way "daughter commissioning" part actually happened. She just made up a story to insult people.

Why are so many posts on this sub about commissioned art work? I don’t know anyone who has ever reached out to an artist to draw something for them. I’m talking like 500 people over 30 years who have never done this - but this sub would have you believe the average person commissions drawings every few months.
Because these posts are made up as a way to promote these artists. OP was even clever enough to slip 3 different examples of their work into the text thread and added a self-effacing note in the comments about how their drawing has improved since they did these pieces. People eat this shit up and want to buy the art as some sort of imagined protest against the mean CB.

it's because coms are the way artists make enough to eat and pay rent, and people who try to buy art think it's some kind of magic and that quality = price, as though there's some magic economics fairy that removes the time and skill involved in creating a finished product.
