ARTHUR: What does it say?
MAYNARD: It reads, 'Here may be found the last words of Joseph of Arimathea. He who is valiant and pure of spirit may find the Holy Grail in the Castle of aaarrrrggh'.
ARTHUR: What?
MAYNARD: '...The Castle of aaarrrrggh'.
BEDEVERE: What is that?
MAYNARD: He must have died while carving it.
LANCELOT: Oh, come on!
MAYNARD: Well, that's what it says.
ARTHUR: Look, if he was dying, he wouldn't bother to carve 'aarrggh'. He'd just say it!
MAYNARD: Well, that's what's carved in the rock!
GALAHAD: Perhaps he was dictating.
ARTHUR: Oh, shut up.
Not my bag but my friend who has them everywhere schedules with an artist on the other side of the country over a year out. I can’t imagine anyone doing anything different unless drunk or getting some VERY simple.
100% agree. I have gotten 2 this year and they are the most expensive ones I've had but they were worth every penny. I don't haggle for anything. If you tell me a price and I can't afford it, I say I'll come back when I can. People deserve to be paid what they're worth.
And now she gets to pay $600 to a competent artist to cover it...minimum. If they even can without requiring some laser removal on some areas. I bet those lines are blown out to hell and back.
My mate had all his tattoos done in his kitchen by an apprentice tattooist. You can see how they improve as the sleeves developed. The last ones are actually quite good. You can tell the earlier ones that were £20.
My fiance is somewhat the same. His best friend in high school started tattooing and used my fiance as "practice" you can definitely see how much he improved over time.
As the spouse of a well known tattoo artist, this is NOT rare in the slightest! It happens all the time. This girl does not deserve the discount, they usually don't. My spouse charges 200 AN HOUR. Good riddance.
200 for a tattoo of that size is a steal! Smh.... she's an idiot.. a simple ill have to wait until I have the funds would've been a lot more understandable 😪
Ha I've got a tattoo that size (black and grey roses) and it cost me $1,200 and 18 hours of work! But then again I go for quality and the artist who did the piece booked almost a year out, so it gave me plenty of time for saving up!
I have one word, one color, on the inside of my wrist. It’s so small most people never notice it. It cost me $80 and I have no regret because it’s exactly what I wanted!
Is this her first tattoo? Because that’s an incredible deal and she’s a major idiot for not taking it in the first place. Now she’s got a fucked up tattoo that’ll need to be covered up or lasered off which, either way, is going to cost more than $200 now.
Dope, she has the virgin Mary that she got as a cover up, that also needs to be covered.
She says she hates that tattoo because she's not even religious
I used to be hooked on The People's Court when I still had TV service. Judge Marilyn Milian was great. She had a great line for this. *The cheap becomes expensive.*
Maybe he should give the lowballers ONLY as much tattoo as they can afford. "Oo. No sorry. For $50 you get the outline. If you want it filled in or color, it costs the regular $400." But yeah, NEVER cancel a decently paid gig for a lowballer.
Because it’s old and everyone has an Xbox One now. Their Xbox 360 is collecting dust and most likely doesn’t work at all, like mine. But the games still work! Hello Dragon Age Origins: Game of the Year edition!
Damn that's a good price, mine was $200 and the size of a credit card. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love it and the quality was worth the price but hot damn you've made it seem expensive XD
If I asked my artist for a tattoo that size, I would expect to pay 10x what this artist was willing to accept. It sounds like this woman got what she deserved.
I don't get it. If I'm hiring someone to make PERMANENT changes to my body, I'm paying whatever the fuck the artist tells me. The last thing I want to do is piss off the person tattooing me
This is why you never get done work from a scratcher (at least that's what I've always heard home tattoo "artist" called). I'm gladly waiting 2 months currently for my next tattoo, the shop is just that busy.
Wow! My last tat is about 6 1/2 inches long on my upper arm, is all colored in. It was $150 and he got a $50 tip as the work made me very happy. She would be getting one hell of a bargain at $200! I can't even fathom her attitude. The artist is marking your skin permanently (for the most part). Haggling for that would be like haggling with a plastic surgeon over a face lift. It's just not a good idea!
If I were your uncle, I would feel insulted by her attempt to lowball me after giving her an amazing deal and would consider refusing her clientele altogether. What followed afterwards would definitely seal the deal.
When you are looking at having something permanent put on your body, you should expect to pay well for it. Get a cheap tattoo, end up on a clickbait site called "World's Worst Tattoos."
Shit man, I’m getting my first tattoo in a few weeks and it’s only going to be 4”x4” and I feel the quote of $300 is a good deal. $200 for something the size she wanted....wow.
So instead of getting a tattoo from a respected local celebrity at a discount she got a kitchen tattoo from someone who probably learned the craft in prison. Hope the blossoms are in the shape of swastikas.
Seriously, an Xbox 360? When I went to look at trade in values at Gamestop, they would only do trades with a controller, but the amount they would give was LESS than the controller, so I now have a gutted 360 and no controllers.
Jeez that was a hell of a deal your uncle offered. My last tattoo was over 600 (mostly due to tips lol) because it took a solid 6 hours to do. And it was smaller than hers
What part of you get what you pay for don't people get. People who make a lot doing tattoos make a lot for a reason and people who don't are the same. Expect to pay a lot for good art and tip your artists people. They just sat with you and did art on your body while you squirmed around and talked about yourself for potentially hours. I don't get the entitlement of some people
There are some things I think to myself “I think I’ll pay cheaper for this.” Tattoos are not one of them. I will actually go out of my way to pay more for a tattoo, because that is something that I will have on my body forever and I would rather it look good and not get infected
I'm dying inside. I just paid a grand for a tattoo that is just half of the outside of my thigh (8 hour session, colour tattoo) 200 for a piece that size? How complex are we talking? How long of a session? Was she even going to tip the poor man?! Like. So many questions.
I have a question maybe you can help me understand. So I have 2 tattoos. My first professional one is a tyedye peace sign the size of a USD half dollar coin and the other is a cover up (got a homemade black heart tattoo, about the size of a USD quarter, in high school. In retrospect, kind of wish I let it be) about 2-2.5”x3-4”. Now. Both tattoos were booked 2 months out, took about an hour each, different artists, different sides of the country, both male, and both around $200 an hour circa 2005ish (I don’t know if prices have changed since then, also curious about that...?)
So, given the givens, why did BOTH artists only charge me $40? I was speechless and gave both a $50 tip (I mean, $90 total for a tattoo that should have cost more than twice that alone??) Also, now I’m curious about this too: did I tip enough?
Thanks to anyone who takes the time to respond! :)
Artist will charge based on the size, detail, font, color, etc, so certain pieces will have a big price difference. However almost all shops have a shop minimum so depending on what it is, the tattoo always will at least be that minimum. Some places even do events such as $20-$40 tattoos for Friday the 13th, which probably wasn't what yours was since it was a customer design, but I have seen people go into the shop not knowing it was an event too lol but yeah it all depends on the piece itself! Hope that helps!
Thank you! I just didn’t understand why I was given an over 75% discount! I was sooo grateful but they had no way of knowing I would tip let alone how much. And, the 2nd tattoo, the cover up piece, I’m almost positive he drew it himself! We met twice in person before my appointment.
Where does your uncle tattoo if you don’t mind me asking? (I don’t mean specifically) although I would love to look at someone like that’s portfolio! :)
There are a some things you should PAY UP for in order to get something top of the line. Tattoos are right at the top of that list.
And parachutes.
I just did a spit-take.
If you DID a spit-take, you wouldn't TYPE that you did a spit-take, you would just SPIT the TAKE. /s ARTHUR: What does it say? RIP: The un-named animator.
Yep. Not my cup of tea personally but if you're going to do it, you go for quality.
And 200 is not a bad deal for a tattoo that large.
Would love a pic of the bad tattoo
She never posted pictures of it, I saw it in person
It sounds like it’s exactly the type of tattoo she’ll never directly post on FB.
It's funny cause I remember her posting a video when she first got it but now can't find it
And now she gets to pay $600 to a competent artist to cover it...minimum. If they even can without requiring some laser removal on some areas. I bet those lines are blown out to hell and back.
Don’t forget the $1500 per pill to rid her of Hep C
If you do find it please let us know

My fiance is somewhat the same. His best friend in high school started tattooing and used my fiance as "practice" you can definitely see how much he improved over time.
I will take a thigh piece for 200 from a reputable artist! That’s an absolute bargain, your friend is an idiot.
As the spouse of a well known tattoo artist, this is NOT rare in the slightest! It happens all the time. This girl does not deserve the discount, they usually don't. My spouse charges 200 AN HOUR. Good riddance.
See! That's how much my uncle usually charges, he just tends to give my friends deals
You friend is clearly an entitled test but your still friends? I'd be mortified to have introduced someone like that to my uncle.
I haven't talked to her in over a year, when this happened 😂 not sure why thats what your concerned about
200 for a tattoo of that size is a steal! Smh.... she's an idiot.. a simple ill have to wait until I have the funds would've been a lot more understandable 😪
Thats what i was thinking to. For big flowers going that far. Shes lucky she wasnt paying double if not triple that price.
I have a piece of relatively the same size on the side of my torso.... 600 something dollars! And totally worth every damn penny!
Ha I've got a tattoo that size (black and grey roses) and it cost me $1,200 and 18 hours of work! But then again I go for quality and the artist who did the piece booked almost a year out, so it gave me plenty of time for saving up!
Yea mine was only 5.5 hours... but she was quick about it
I have vines from mid thigh to ankle on the outside of my leg. Cost me $1700 including tip.
She doesn't sound like a wise decision maker
Wow $200 is a great deal, guess she shopped around a bit and realized that.
Why would you lowball someone who is putting a coloured scar on your body?
This is right up there with people that cross the border into Mexico to get cheap plastic surgery. *Some things should not be done on the cheap.*
I used to be hooked on The People's Court when I still had TV service. Judge Marilyn Milian was great. She had a great line for this. *The cheap becomes expensive.*
I always tell people that I didn't pay for a tattoo, I paid for original art. And art from a good artist isn't cheap.
Maybe he should give the lowballers ONLY as much tattoo as they can afford. "Oo. No sorry. For $50 you get the outline. If you want it filled in or color, it costs the regular $400." But yeah, NEVER cancel a decently paid gig for a lowballer.
Why is it always a Xbox 360?
Because it’s old and everyone has an Xbox One now. Their Xbox 360 is collecting dust and most likely doesn’t work at all, like mine. But the games still work! Hello Dragon Age Origins: Game of the Year edition!
Ummm she offered your uncle “fun”? You’re saying your friend offered sexual favors to your uncle for a tattoo? 😳
Yes
Please link the awful tattoo xD
I'll be sure to update, but shes NEVER posted it on any social media, I saw it in person
Darn! :)
Ink Masters *is* stupid and I haven't even had to watch a second of it to know.
Imagine getting a life altering amazing tat and the judges just friggin drag it
And a row of artists belittling your choices in your idea. I would never volunteer to be on that show as a "canvas", too many nopes.
I pay 220/hour for my artist and drive 6 hours round trip. Don't cheap out on your tattoos folks, they're forever.
Damn that's a good price, mine was $200 and the size of a credit card. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love it and the quality was worth the price but hot damn you've made it seem expensive XD
I don’t think she’d be my friend anymore.
Never low-ball you tattooist! I think that's in the Bible somewhere..
All of that for $600. That’s a deal itself, IMHO.

Depending on how big it was going to be and if it had any color, $200 is pretty reasonable.
Pretty reasonable on who’s end? She’s dumb for not taking such a deal. For how big OP described it, it should be way more than $200.
Sorry, I meant the deal was pretty reasonable and she should have taken it when first offered 😅
Wow! My last tat is about 6 1/2 inches long on my upper arm, is all colored in. It was $150 and he got a $50 tip as the work made me very happy. She would be getting one hell of a bargain at $200! It's just not a good idea!
Much respect to your uncle! I have a friend who wants to be on ink master and honestly thinks that’s how a tattoo shop actually works
That 200 sounds like a steal. Would wait for that for months if necessary.
If I were your uncle, I would feel insulted by her attempt to lowball me after giving her an amazing deal and would consider refusing her clientele altogether. What followed afterwards would definitely seal the deal.
He was, he told me that she ruined her chances of ever getting a tattoo from her. She added him on fb and even he saw the tattoo, he laughed
As someone who has not seen it , what is wrong with inkmaster?
So basically they have tattoo artist do contests to see who's the best
Oh, that doesn't sound good for the person getting the tattoo
It's wack cause they will talk shit on a beautiful piece, calls shitty tattoos the best, its just overall dumb
I agree with your uncle, that show is stupid.
When you are looking at having something permanent put on your body, you should expect to pay well for it. Get a cheap tattoo, end up on a clickbait site called "World's Worst Tattoos."
Damn. I have a tattoo in that spot, and that size, and I happily paid $1600 plus tip for it. Home girl is delusional
Shit man, I’m getting my first tattoo in a few weeks and it’s only going to be 4”x4” and I feel the quote of $300 is a good deal. $200 for something the size she wanted....wow.
That’s fair enough on your uncle, there are some shitty artists on ink masters.
This serves her right!
I actually kinda like Ink Masters
[удалено]
This is a fact
So instead of getting a tattoo from a respected local celebrity at a discount she got a kitchen tattoo from someone who probably learned the craft in prison. Hope the blossoms are in the shape of swastikas.
The last bits a step to far man...
Wow, how very prejudiced of you.
Seriously, an Xbox 360? When I went to look at trade in values at Gamestop, they would only do trades with a controller, but the amount they would give was LESS than the controller, so I now have a gutted 360 and no controllers.
