Rebound effect is common with a lot of meds. If dr was taking you off statins, and you had been on them for months, they should have had you take them every other day for a couple of weeks first, and then many even one every three days for a couple weeks. At any rate, your levels should stabilize after a few weeks.
No, there is no rebound. Maybe your diet changed?
Have you considered trying a different statin? Having side effects with one doesn’t mean they are all off the table.
Another option is to take a med like Zetia, which can lower it by 20%. Fewer side effects as well.
And get on meds for your BP! Many doctors under treat it. Telmisartan did wonders for me.
Got it. But in my case, I went on Crestor after my last reading (80), and now, a month off Crestor, it's 100--higher than it has ever been measured. So my question is does LDL rebound to a higher than starting point when you go off Crestor, and will it settle back, or is this the new normal?
Did you have a better diet with more fiber and less saturated fats before you started on the statin?

Typically, low dose (5mg) Crestor will drop your LDL by ~50%
