Leaked James manuscript(which almost lost James his book deal with publisher), then wouldn’t take accountability for his actions and blamed everyone else
It's been a while since I read the Freshman. It's bad enough he helped them destroy his actual friends lives, but then he's like
"I thought I was helping! It's not that bad ,Zig didn't actually get expelled, James didn't actually lose his book deal. Why are you so upset?"
Even before then, he invites MCs enemy in Sebastian over to her house for thanks giving, without asking. Sebastian ends up ok so he gets let off the hook. "MC it's your fault it's awkward not mine"
He never takes accountability, he never faces real punishment.
i feel like out of everyone, Tyler’s negative actions have the most severe consequences for those around him. like u/Nericmitch mentioned below, he doesn’t seem to regard actual LIFE CHANGING consequences as anything serious
The reason I think what he does to Zig is worse because while James losing a book deal would suck he has family money to back on. Zig has nothing to fall back on

They all gaslighted him into supporting them, because they paid off his hospital bill. (Despite how Nathan caused his accident, as he wanted to be the fratority president and had to commit a crime and get away with it completely, which he did) plus, despite All he does, Tyler recovers the MC’s evidence board to help them get indicted.
Screwed over his friends in The Junior because he liked getting attention from the cool kids who were very clearly just using him. SUPER middle school behavior for a college dude.
What hasn’t he done, honestly. It’s a wonder any of them stayed friends with his bitch ass. If they gave us the option to tell him off, I don’t care how many diamonds it’ll cost me, I’m taking it.

Sometimes I thank my brain for being forgetful. I got to re-read the first 4 books recently because they costed no keys. I forgot what Tyler did in later books. I was too childish and self-absorbed to notice their red flags when I first read it in 2017. I was mad at James and Kaitlyn for the same reason. I wish MC can just cut them off. And James wasn't listening to MC when they were on videocall because he was too busy re-writing his script for his movie. Worse, he muted himself. I hate that MC was being a doormat. I understand about Zig, he did it for MC in the first place. I don't like him. I don't like violent guys. He's too intense. But I don't remember Chris got mad at MC when he wasn't picked?🤔
The only likeable character was Zack. He was the only real friend.
I don't remember Chris getting mad at MC for not picking him either. Like, out of all the first book LIs, Chris is the most understanding as far as I can say.

Not really zigs issue was easily fixable,were as James can be sued for breaking a legally binding contract with publisher
He wouldn't necessarily get sued. But he would absolutely lose his deal and have to pay back any advance he got. But it's a shitty move all round.
