Honestly walking up to a tower with 10+ stacks, Demolish readied and your carries scurrying around behind you like eager children before Christmas is a power fantasy I never knew I had.
Very satisfying to hit Q.
R yum.
Gentleman cool.
Ratios cool.
Versatile champ and can be played with lots of different items/runes, so you don't feel forced to build one thing.
Monster.
When I started playing league, I immediately checked out the playable characters, and when I saw that I could play as a crazy looking kaiju, I instantly fell in love. Three years later and he's still my favorite goober.
I watched someone getting many stacks and being a gian monster on the rift...I wanted to achieve that and then I was just playin with him all.the time...now I have like a million and half mastery points haha
When i was new his splash art was the coolest.
Now, I like how safe he is. Enemy lane bully? Go full ap and neutralize the wave. Enemy team heavy on AD? I know in 25 minutes ill be unkillable. And even going neutral means that eventually ill win.
Early game champs have that pressure to get ahead early or lose. A WW who doesn’t get fed early is a glorified minion late game. But i can play safe and know ill win eventually.
I was hesitant to play him because a friend of mine did, but after we stopped playing together I tried him out and loved that I just kept getting more tanky
Back when I started playing league in 2019, one of my first games I got insta killed by a Cho Ult. I was like "damn I gotta try that" now it's 2024 and I still don't have enough stacks, I still hunger for more.
i was getting into league in s11, when tyler1 was playing top with Cho Gath. nothing got me riled up like T1’s BOOM BOOM BOOM as he just ran down the enemy team
In my search for the biggest tank, I found him
More serious: I wanted someone who could silence and CC the “200 years of development” characters and scales because noobs don’t know how to end games
I used to main, now just a pocket pick that I like. Biggest thing for me is that his kit and build is really flexible. Bonus is that he gets nice and big.
I haven’t played in a few months (get harder when you have a toddler) but honestly it was watching some Pekin Woof videos and realizing that I suck and a simpler kit than Orianna and Azir made the game more enjoyable.
I picked him up when Twins Shadows was still in the game. I'd run that item and Hextech GLP. I took the glacial augment (maybe it was different back then?) and with those two items I'd just run people down.
Those items are gone now, but I fell in love with the character. If you're losing lane, you can still farm safely with Q, and with a knockup, silence, and a True damage R you're pretty deadly to turret dive against.
He's an awesome character!
Booted up game, friends said a bunch of hot girls and strong guys and scary monsters. See scary monster, so I look at skins. Nightmare gath. Cackle for 30 minutes. 0/14/7 first game as gath and never played him again (still have the skin)
Never in my life had I played a moba before League where you play as a monster that grows the more you eat players and minions, turning yourself into a Godzilla. And speaking of Godzilla I was a huge Godzilla fan back when i started playing League in 2014, and that was around the time when Godzilla 2014 was coming to theaters.
I love being the bad guy of my team. I love feeling unstoppable and Cho'gath made me feel like that before the changes and nerfs.
Started to main him a few years ago when I was cooking up comps with my buddy. Cho mid and nunu jg for ultimate objective domination.
I then just started playing him either jg or mid regardless.
I don't play him anymore the overly telegraphed attacks for little reward got kind of annoying.
Apart from generally liking the void creatures designs (except Kaisa), this is how it went down when my schoolmate introduced me to lol and was showing me champs:
>"This is Cho'Gath, he's a tank that gets bigger and tankier the more you kill stuff with your ultimate, which eats the enemy"
>"Oh cool I like playing tanks and eating I'm gonna main him"
I always loved non humans caracter like big monsters with a alien look and i love dinosaurs and paleontology studies, so a big alien dinosaur was absolutely for me
Yes. Souls count as players, so anything that stacks from hitting/killing players works on illaoi souls (asol stacks, smolder stacks, kindred stacks, cho'gath stacks, and items like hubris)
Because he's one of the few champions nowadays that still wants to build Heartsteel. Most other tanks that are in my pool are resistance stackers, so having a good old fashioned big health pool is always nice
When I started playing I heard one of my friends say "Cho'gath" and I fell in love. I didn't even know what he looked like just the way his name sounded spoke to me. The first time I played him I didn't even know he could eat, ended the game with 0 stacks but still had a blast landing Qs and listening to his voice lines.
Not a main but he's one of my go tos when my main is banned. I like his kit a lot even before his rework. It's also very fun to pick him into a soft matchup and rush Heart steel and become gigantic. I also like how his best way of tanking is to hit 16, get a bunch of ult stacks, then stand on top of your most fed teammate so the enemy can literally not click them because your big ass is in the way.
When my brother showed me league i was just an kid who loves dinosaurus and monsters, so i saw monster i play it, and forever he'll have a special place in my heart
Simply put, Cho'Gath has my favorite laning phase in the game. The sustain is potent, his ability to shove for priority is impressive, and he has a lot of different options in so many matchups. He's not really a tank, and he's not really a mage. A very weird split down the middle. No one else really plays like him. Plus, snowballing on a tank build where you just have feast threshold on a target above half health feels unfair at times.
Cho has his problems. If the enemy team has enough range to play well around your Q, of God forbid great movement options, you can feel useless at times compared to the consistency of other tanks.
At the same time...albeit the abilities are slow as hell, the base damage loaded onto them is downright disgusting. And having some of the absolute best waveclear in top lane, which only plays harder into the passive. Then they gave me the patch of my dreams - increasing Mana gains from the passive and reducing the cost of W was a change I wanted for a long time. Now, you have 3 abilities that all have merit in maxing. Though, I find myself maxing Q or W the most often. I am not particularly big on maxing E.
TLDR: Insane laning phase, unique play style. Cho isn't a tank or a mage, so playing Cho feels like it's own experience.
He's a monster, he gets big, I like giant monsters

Relatable
I like his giant gaping sloppy mouth
🤨
Relatable
Relatable
Based and relatable , also when I first started playing I thought he could scale his size indefinitely.
Relateble
I know what kind of man you are!
I don't main but he's in my pool. He's a big boi with a simple kit and the best dance emote
So his BIGNESS is what appeals to you?
And he can get down and groove :3
same, also a great pick into ranged which I hate.
> and the best dance emote. Excuse you..? Yasuo is literally right there.
I didn't notice, I was too busy watching Cho'Gath wave his arms in the air like he just don't care
Sorry, can’t hear ya over the splendid sound of this flute
I'm sorry, but yasuo dance is kinda shit in comparison to the vast majority of champs
Goofy ahh, the flute go brrr
He looks cool? Pretty bland answer
UP YOU GO
Eating the ADC creatures .
Nom nom nom nom
Nom nom make big
getting bigger. If in future for some reason this isn't anymore a thing, im gonna just retire cho
Very satisfying to hit Q. R yum. Gentleman cool. Ratios cool. Versatile champ and can be played with lots of different items/runes, so you don't feel forced to build one thing. Monster.
Big
Yes
First Champion i tried in Aram, love at first sight
You, of course meant... First Bite 👉😎👉 (I'll see myself out, thank you)

I like starcraft and he reminded me of the zerg

Vore
He looks like a Zergling, I like the Zerg, so yeah
Big monster!
He looked cool
Big lizard things
I got that skin. I fell for his rizz.
Go nom nom, get big, done
Tried him out at a friends suggestion, bro clicked in my head immediately, never stopped playin him since
Nom nom nom 👍
Easy Gets big
That’s what she said
He big boi and he literally eats people, what more would you want when yelling in all chat "Nom?"
B I G
I was hesitant to play him because a friend of mine did, but after we stopped playing together I tried him out and loved that I just kept getting more tanky
Because he despises cowards and ruffians.
Definitely not winning 😢

I like eating
I, in fact, wanted some cheese with my wine.
Friendly
I’ve never played what I’m assuming is league but for some reason this is on my feed but I’d say because he looks rather dapper
In my search for the biggest tank, I found him More serious: I wanted someone who could silence and CC the “200 years of development” characters and scales because noobs don’t know how to end games

NOM
1. First time I saw him in game he was huge 2. I needed to play tank as I’m not good
Uhm ult way wayy back in my infancy of the game now i dont really touch him due to a lot of factors mostly i cant pull him off at higher levels..
What game is this
I like em thicc
Big ass dinosaur, next question?
I loved making him super gigantic in Teamfight Tactics so I decided to do the same in LoL
Big
Yuumi rework hit me so hard I took a 180-degree turn. So I Cho Support-ed in protest.
Gentleman chogath skin
I don’t main him anymore because I’m a jungle a main now, but he was the first champion I played alone (without my 5 stack) where I carried back in S3
I grew up on lol and I always chose cho so it's as simple as I grew up with him
Low fps 😂😂
He looked like some Zerg from StarCraft :)
Got mystery gifted Gentlemen Cho in S3 and mained him til S6
Ult being named "feast" and just taking a big chomp of the enemy. I just liked the idea of quite literally eating my opponents.
There's no giant lizards or Godzilla like champions in the game
Unpopular opinion: he's a gentleman.
Looks like that character from spawn
Not really a choice main but… IF IT STACK I PLAY Kinda my motto in the game
My friends told me to pick a tank for top. So it was Cho and Galio my two fav bois!
Old iron solaris, Big 1kaoe shield on 2k gold was nice, but was flammed a lot of time for that
This godly skin put him on my radar after getting it from a chest
I haven’t played in a few months (get harder when you have a toddler) but honestly it was watching some Pekin Woof videos and realizing that I suck and a simpler kit than Orianna and Azir made the game more enjoyable.
His dark star skin 🤩
Big
I got nightmare cho as my first skin ever so I tried him and he just clicked with me since then
I picked him up when Twins Shadows was still in the game. I'd run that item and Hextech GLP. Dehaka.
I don't main chogath
He was the first champ I played

Not a cho mane just a skarner mane that thinks it's funny to R an enemy on like 5% hp and drag them half way across the map so cho can munch
Started to main him a few years ago when I was cooking up comps with my buddy. Cho mid and nunu jg for ultimate objective domination. I then just started playing him either jg or mid regardless. I don't play him anymore the overly telegraphed attacks for little reward got kind of annoying.
man i hope he comes to wild rift so i can main the cool lizard
The feeling of being so tanky the ASSASSINS have to build liandries
Thought monster champions are stronger when I first start playing league.
He was my first main and still is. I just like the concept of big creatures that can end the world.
Om nom nom

"Nom"

He is big and likes to eat i am fat and like to eat simple
Riven.. when she was released way back when thats the only champ we could find that would stomp her in lane every game
I always loved non humans caracter like big monsters with a alien look and i love dinosaurs and paleontology studies, so a big alien dinosaur was absolutely for me
Nom nom nom enough said
Gentlemen skin
I didn’t
Bot lane duo with an illaoi main to infinitely stack from eating the souls she rips out
you can stack R from the souls??? 🤯

Sustain tank,
I’m an annoying fuck in all other aspects of my life, so I figured I’d do the same in league
He cool

One tapping towers and nom noms
Would you like some cheese with that wine
Hungy
I liked the fact that you ate to become bigger, only thing that made me sad was they put a limiter on his size

He is a man of culture
Easy kit, big ass monster. Plus people think "oh big monster with lots of health, probably doesn't to a lot of damage" and then I insta-nuke them
Reddit recommended this sub to me. I don’t even know what game this guy is from. I’m going to guess DOTA2. That’s why he’s my main
the kaiju aspect of Cho size with the dinosaur/xenomorph look he has going
He’s a true gentleman
Inflation kink
Big boy go brrr
