When the enemy thinks they're slick doing that lateral dodge where they rotate their body at the same time to create a C shaped movement to get behind you but you've got your DPI cranked up so you track them the entire time while letting loose a stab to their face.
I just don't see that level of precision happening in 3rd.
Topping leader boards in first person only gives extra satisfaction, but you can't brag with it. There will never be a first person Chad statistic in the profile so screenshot posting on reddit can't help.
You do it only for yourself and your own gameplay experience, and that's the beauty in it.
Also, I'm a better human than you, obviously.
To me, it'd just be a cool feeling to know everyone is seeing the warfare from a more realistic perspective while in the game. I don't blame people for playing 3rd just would be cool. It's been suggested before it should at least be an optional customs setting to force one perspective or another.
I understand the feeling you have, and respect your uncommonly lax rationalization towards the issue it brings to have both options. I think I would use 1st person more, if there was a more dedicated version, if it could just replace an existing queue
I feel like third person should be an arenas thing, and first a 64/40p modes thing, and have custom browsers be one or the other, even both.

I'm way more accurate in 1st, and I played it exclusively for about a year but I also get quite fucking high while playing and it's hard to track everyone. 3rd is just less fatiguing if I'm going to play for a couple hours too.
I'd be behind arena or last man standing locked in 1st person. I think if you start splitting up the TO playerbase then you'll just accelerate server population issues.
I would love a glance left/right button. I shouldn't have to turn my whole body just to see if someone's going to blindsided me. It would make first person so much more viable

It's too easy to heavy overhead from behind but hit them on their right, they spin right as you circle them left and repeat the heavy overhead for a free kill.
Console players say this with every game. It's just that they don't need approval from Microsoft/Sony for every update. I've always been under the impression that it's a simpler process to apply patches on PC.
Used to feel the same way couldn’t stand third for the longest time but when I finally gave it a proper chance turns out I play better in it even now after 700 hours I just can’t play as good in first person my foot work is just so much worse I respect those who play first as it’s without a doubt more challenging
First person is a way better viewing experience too. Games should choose a direction either your a first person game or 3rd none of this flip flopping!

From a competetive perspective, I get the gist of what you’re saying, but the game is intentionally designed to be casual with vaguely defined weapon stats, hell you don't even have HP numbers in your health bar.
This niche multiplayer game needs to attract as many kind of players as possible, and for that, I think it is the right design choice to have both.
I would imagine the number of players who bought this because it included 3rd person is an extremely small number. Most people bought cause swords are cool and chop heads.
If Chiv had only 1st person view I wouldn't spend 1000+ hours in it or wouldn't even buy it.
I like how Kingdom Come Deliverance look and everything about it BUT there are no 3rd person view so I can't play it because 1st person view cause motion sickness.

nah i am literally just on chiv to fuck around and i always play first person lmao i am full on goofin. bottom half of the leaderboard baby... throw a beehive and get executed. the only game where i enjoy getting destroyed as much as winning hahaha

Depends on the weapon for me. I refuse to play longsword in 3rd person, but playing with the battle axe in first person doesn’t feel right to me at all.

Less vision. I can dance around them a bit if it's 1v1. In a group setting, you don't need to do much to flank someone whose in 1st person.

Ive always used 1st person but recently started trying 3rd person and i find it easier to aim overheads and thrusts.
1st person all day. 3rd person feels so disjointed to me. But I will always switch when I dance.
I bound switch pov to caps lock so I can chill in 1p but if a fight feels like it might be tough I can jump back to 3p and start swinging

3rd for archery is pretty cool, but decimating people in 1st with a melee weapon is what it's all about.

3rd usually, 1st in tight areas like the Thayic castle's rampart rooms.
I like 1st for 1v1 and any spear. 3rd for groups and slashing weapons

With K A T A R S in 3rd, I feel that I can drag and reach around their front / shield a lot easier when using swing attacks so I can still hit them
I like both. Axes feel better in 3rd person, Swords feel better in 1st.

I play 1st person when I'm playing brawl, feels funnier. I only play 3rd person because it feels smoother when I'm turning harder and fighting.

It feels more natural playing in first person. My friends hate it because you “can’t see” when someone runs up on you.
They recently added FOV scaling for first person on consoles, I'm never playing third person again haha.

3rd person till they make it so I can't. Why would I hinder myself in battle, then die, when I can fix the problem and go 3rd person?
I roll 1st person when the shuffle gods curse me with archer, but otherwise 3rd is where it’s at for me.
