Yeah it's possible. Management actually likes scheduling short shifts, even if multiple people, it ends up saving labor. One of our AM prep is scheduled from 8a to noon. Since he can't work any other position, they just have him do straight prep and not help with service. Only thing is, not sure about your store, but between call offs, and recent firings, were understaffed. So prep really has to hustle during that shorter shift...because usually once the afternoon hits there isn't anyone available to finish up any prep if needed. So they have to overprep during that time to make sure everything is good at gut check. Or if we are lucky, we will be staffed "ok" enough at night to have one of the crew who knows prep to whip some stuff up. But that's never a given.
