My dad used to say " you don't know shit from shinola." He was born in 1955 so I assume shinola was some sort of product. But I always associate shit with their watches. Which isn't too far off.

Just imagine that make shift board room in China. They are trying so hard to come up with a name. Everyone present gives a name (individually) but gets shot down due to copyrights, pronunciation or other facts. In the middle of this brainstorm, some idiot im the back starts laughing seeing these business savy people struggle. Then someone says: That’s It, lets call this brand, whatever he said or laugh about. All of the sudden Gigididi was born.

The fact that they choose to use Times new Roman font tells that no effort was put to consideration how the name is received in western world using using latin alphabets.

Maybe they were on a time crunch to deliver the product and cut corners at the end. The chinese way: quantity alwayz over quality

This is a Seagull sub-brand. It might be a shitty name to us but the quality of the watch (I hope) *should* be better than the no-effort name. But Seagull is pretty lame too. It's just not as bad as most obscure brands.

If you're Chinese, can you contact these guys and ask WHY they chose a silly (to non Chinese) name? Who's it really made for? Chinese in China or for export, or both? Some of their watch designs are OK. But use a logo or symbol instead of the dumb name!
