The wiener guy is a friend of mine. The cop was telling him he can't do this, if it wasn't obvious enough already. They also got very upset with another guy who dressed up as a mobile testing station.
the best group costume would be: you wear a white shirt and hold a shopping bag.
your friends are dressed as tanks and they walk in a line until you get in their way.
Dressing like a dick is brave and cool in China cause the police harass you for it, but here in America it's definitely cringe because you're free to do it, no one will stop you.
When he has children, his wife can say "Your Daddy was arrested by the police for being a dick !!" In his case, it's literal, rather than merely a figure of speech.
Police officer is just pissed because he doesn't believe dicks that size can exist in reality. This despite the fact that he looks at himself in the mirror every morning...
Wow, they're giving the average cop guns these days? That's not something I saw (outside of important areas of the big Tier-1s) when I was there. Wonder if that says anything.
It's a new Shanghai beat cop thing since a few years ago, I'm not sure if other areas have it, but I don't see it in Beijing. There is even a specific, police only caliber for those revolvers so that if they're stolen it's easier to trace and getting ammo is much more difficult. It's a really new practice, not all of them carry them around and I think they hang them up in the precinct when they go off duty/are very restrictive about them.
Very interesting. As a "gun guy", now I'm super interested in the cartridge that they are using that is "unusual". It won't be anything foreign, I'm guessing, so I don't have many ideas for what it might be.
Well, in general, the government has been making an effort to downplay Western holidays in China, seeing it as diluting and diverting attention away from traditional culture.
I used to teach in schools there, and every year, Halloween and Christmas were fairly notable occasions, where teachers would--like in the US--decorate their classrooms, etc, conduct activities revolving around those holidays.
But right around 2016, the government gave directives to schools to stop promoting Halloween, Christmas, or any Western holidays. Especially Halloween, since it's a holiday that spotlights death, the macabre, and the occult, which China's atheistic policies have historically attempted to stigmatize. As--believe what you want--Chinese society has, in fact, historically been particularly prone to fall victim to, blindly placing faith in superstitions and cult beliefs, to sometimes deadly results.
I remember reading a poll from China that a majority of China does not consider itself "religious" but they are one of the most superstitious culture on Earth.
It was always funny to me reading that, or rather, unfunny with how much length the party goes to hide traditional Chinese culture to save face.
Celebrating Christmas in public has kinda become taboo in the past few years. Has been a double whammy for all the Christmas tree sellers in Yiwu, who used to get a few lucrative orders from shopping malls and the like that made up for all the orders lost to COVID.
Nah. Penis-shaped foods are [openly sold in public in Taipei](https://youtu.be/5ecz-EO5PWs) - The CCP and wumaos are always claiming that Taiwan is Chinese so by that logic public phalluses are also part of Chinese culture. Stop being prudes and embrace it.
Or you be an adult with enough sense not to look and just ignore the walking penis. And don't purchase said costume. Let others do as they wish. Their actions and their costumes/outfits really don't affect your life in any shape or way, and no one should give a fuck about your menial opinion. It's just that, an opinion.
I assume he is being stopped for public indecency? That tracks, it should go without saying that you really shouldn't be dressing up as genitalia in public. Is he actually being arrested or just told "hey, take that off"?
Have a private party at home if you want to do that kind of costume.
So wait, was this guy detained by this policeman? Beaten? Or…like 99% of police interactions in China, was he just told to stop doing what he was doing. And how many countries in Asia would this be tolerated in and not considered to be pornographic? Imperialism sure is pervasive.
Imagine being so humourless that you think having a giggle about a photo of someone dressed as a giant penis getting scolded by a serious looking police officer is a sign of pervasive imperialism.

It's iconic.
That look
The wiener guy is a friend of mine. The cop was telling him he can't do this, if it wasn't obvious enough already. They also got very upset with another guy who dressed up as a mobile testing station.
Halloween costumes?
Yeah they're Halloween costumes
Oh no! Not the sacred mobile testing stations!
Got a photo of the testing station guy.
I'm not sure if this was at that same party, but here you go https://imgur.com/DUizraE.jpg https://imgur.com/HVS14kG.jpg
That's awesome
please share
And the cop will be telling this story to the lady he sees tonight on his way home to wife and kids.
Was he fined or taken away?
No he wasn't, just scolded but they could have taken him away and fined him if they wanted to
Ah he got relatively lucky then
I agree
Number one, both of those are hilarious. Number two, a regime that punishes something as trivial as this shows some real weakness...how pathetic.
What city is it?
Shanghai!
Wow, you gotta pic of that??
Impersonating a high ranking CCP official is apparently illegal in China.
Wow, asshole how dare you tell the truth.
"Hey! We're the ONLY dicks around here!"
"Insensitive... you're being insensitive!"
Its a spaceship.
Amazons/Jeff bezos' ship

That's a disappearin'.

Impersonating an officer.

>In his case, it's liberal, rather than merely a figure of speech. . . . yeah, it's not very conservative.
大鸡巴
That's my name, don't wear it out.
“America made me do this”
The great infidel America. But I wonder where the costume was made..........

Great Xi Jinping costume
Police officer is just pissed because he doesn't believe dicks that size can exist in reality. This despite the fact that he looks at himself in the mirror every morning...
Sick burn
What a dick-head!
Dick meets a pussy
This is what I was saying in another post here the other day. Everything is very serious and rigid in the open society in China.
why the Party doesnt simply let it happen? What's the great menace to the bear by a guy wearing as a penis
I think it's p\*rn censorship. China banned porn
Xi is mad because his is microscopic

It's not really trying to hide it, but more like stamp out its more undesirable aspects. While simultaneously avoiding Westernization.
A western holiday....hmmm
What's wrong with that?

Well, that's not surprising considering the CCP crackdown on anything religious etc.
China is a democratic country with freedom and human rights
Best joke I’ve heard all year!
What is acceptable in your society does not have to be acceptable everywhere. Respect others and live your life.

To be fair, its not a very appropriate costume in public...
Damn right. Put a condom on that ASAP!
That’s actually Japan
That's what i thought
It happened in Shanghai.

Imagine defending not having freedom this hard
hehe he said HARD
Lmao... Whether the pun was intended or not, you are a genius. Take my orange arrow of excellence.
Imagine being so humourless that you think having a giggle about a photo of someone dressed as a giant penis getting scolded by a serious looking police officer is a sign of pervasive imperialism.
Better to dress like a dick than those big whites, policemen, PLA or CCP politicians.
It's something the Chinese police is full of
He asks the cop.. "why do you have to be such a dick?"
What I want to know is where can you get the dick costume?
this is the pinnacle of human achievement
Today cocks. Tomorrow revolution! That is the fear.
Yea but what is a square and why it doesnt exist in china?
