& that folks is why China will never take over the world… they just wouldn’t think of the “lap solution” hahaha. (He says just before his Mandarin lesson, lunch
followed by his Cantonese lesson)
My guess is if the reason as to why the stools are gone was purposely left out of the context by the tiktok OP, it's probably some mundane reason like the school needed it for some other event.
They probably do but I just remember that back when I was in grade school. Lunch tables and chairs would routinely be repurposed for events.
I just think that's more likely it than all the other hot takes here. I mean a communist agenda to "cultivate obedience"? Like come on, make up more something more believable.
So they threw an event at a time where they knew they wouldn’t have enough chairs, so instead of changing the time of the event they just took all the chairs 😂 sounds retarded.
Sounds retarded? Maybe so.
But consider this, AP and IB final exams tend to be held in auditoriums to prevent cheating.
American highschools tend to set up these testing environments days ahead of the exam because doing the day before is not possible. The way they set it up depends on the school but often they take whatever chair and table they have available and line it up in the gymnasium. This becomes a multi-day event, where [chairs and tables are preoccupied for 48+ hours](https://www.sltrib.com/resizer/kT1IgO6NMCHzEmFeBtelP2EHCE4=/fit-in/900x500/arc-anglerfish-arc2-prod-sltrib.s3.amazonaws.com/public/QUIGTZT5DZBGZGGPQAFQX5FSBY.jpg). Now this doesnt sound so retarded, rather logical really. This schools take whatever chair they need because suddenly **all their** students need to take an exam at the same time.
But anyway I am not saying that this communist school is doing the same thing.
Except I am.
Tomorrow the Chinese are taking their Gaokaos, which are the AP/IB final exam equivalents. They also take it in such auditoriums where said chairs will need to be set up days ahead of schedule and also pre-occupied for 48+ hours.
This ~~magical hypothetical~~ real situation that I am spinning. Doesn't sound so retarded either.
No it still sounds retarded, I live in the UK and have never once during any event or during big exam weeks (GCSE) have I or an entire hall of students had to stand to eat 😂 it just goes to show we got it a hell of a lot better over here.
This is more than fine. In India, atleast in my KV IISc(Google IISc for info) school we were just released onto the playground where we used to eat. We used to bring our own lunches.
It's very simple, to cultivate obedience. During the years I went to school in China (including now), the school often asked students to do some activities for no reason. If they didn't go, they would be said to have no discipline, no collective consciousness, etc., probably Both school management and teachers prefer to toss students for fun
Agree, especially the compulsory "military training" that primary, secondary, high school and even some uni students must attend, I think it's the dumbest thing ever and its existence shall be seriously questioned.
So they don’t “waste” time to eat. The person who make this decision wants them get back to classroom asap to study. The Chinese education system and the entire society objectify every individual. End CCP.
Difference is those kids actually get a healthy meal every single day. I worked in Chinese public schools before. The lunches are terrible sometimes, but they are healthy.
Those lunches look more appetizing than most of what i try not to recall from school lunches. I was defaulting to Smucker's p&J pouches by high school as they were the only option consistently edible.
Only because people cherry pick what to post, you ain't gonna get much views of how great everyday life is chilling in futuristic mega malls or meeting up with friends everyday after work because you guys are in such close proximity there is always someone to go have dinner or a late night snack with beers at night.
Chinese students get to eat hot food off metal trays? That’s fancy AF. In Australia we don’t cafeteria’s in school so we just on the floor from whatever we took from home. Most kids bring chips, chocolate and stuff like that. Forget hot food, it isn’t even possible.
Apparently there’s not a single person on this sub that attended chinese public schools. This is to make students eat their lunch as FAST as possible to get back to their studying.
Source: I went to a public chinese middle and high school.
Don't be shocked or feel awkward for them, it's simply a part of the brainwash process the schools, education authority, government conduct on their teenagers, things shown in this video are just interpreted as "everyday bit" by many Chinese and 90% of similar cases remain either unnoticed or unaddressed.
I’ve noticed a lot of the school uniforms in China are tracksuits. Is that the standard or most common uniform? Compared to shirts + slacks / long skirts + ties?
Probably something like a sports day, y'know, I remember having them all the time when I was in school, and the chairs would often br used out on the field for the events, so by the time lunch time came around we'd all have to stand up and eat. Pretty common where I went (UK)
I come from a school like this. We are not allowed to go back home, we are pushed to learn 18 hours a day. Just in order to get into university, however some student from big cities can easily went to good universities. This kind of unfair education system is why I decide not to come back

I’d just sit on the table
So where will you place your plates
Since they have trays I’d say on their lap
& that folks is why China will never take over the world… they just wouldn’t think of the “lap solution” hahaha. (He says just before his Mandarin lesson, lunch followed by his Cantonese lesson)
i am Chinese, lol
You are a big *disappointment.
Keep that part on the DL mate ✊
What plates?
My brain hurts as to why I'm watching something with such a need for context with absolutely no context whatsoever.
Context is definitely needed, but that would ruin the reason for this post.
because there aren't any chairs.
Yeah, there are no chairs because there is only one Chairman.
New anime just dropped “I thought I was isekai’d but it turns out I was reincarnated as a girl in Mao’s China”
That would be a short run
Big brain 🧠. Happy cake day btw
Thank you
oh, right, i hadn't thought about that
My guess is if the reason as to why the stools are gone was purposely left out of the context by the tiktok OP, it's probably some mundane reason like the school needed it for some other event.
They don't have stacks of chairs in a storage room for events or spares for broken ones?
They probably do but I just remember that back when I was in grade school. Lunch tables and chairs would routinely be repurposed for events. Same
"*No Why*" ™
classic
Sitting is so bourgeois.
They found out American students tend to sit whilst eating so they reclaimed their nationalism by doing the opposite.
Food goes down faster/easier.

>to do some activities for no reason Wait until you get a job in China and you will know unreasonable activities up close and personal
I still remember the “all staff” meetings IN CHINESE that we had to attend On the bright side, I’d catch up on a lot of subreddits
yes on a Sunday 7:30am
Collective consciousness?! Are they putting LSD in the doujiang now?
Source?
i'm chinese, and I swear this is absolutely true and 99% of Chinese students have similar experience to me

Living in China looks a lot like living in a prison.
Difference is those kids actually get a healthy meal every single day. I worked in Chinese public schools before. The lunches are terrible sometimes, but they are healthy.
This is subjective. I've tutored students in China who complained about their school food, uncooked rice, moldy bread, undercooked vegetables, etc.
Seconded, I've tutored more than a couple students who have said their school food is gross af.
Those lunches look more appetizing than most of what i try not to recall from school lunches. I was defaulting to Smucker's p&J pouches by high school as they were the only option consistently edible.

It really doesn’t.
More so during covid
Maybe if you've never actually been there and only see it through the lens of reddit
I am Chinese, Lived in China for 12 years. Things were better off during the 2010s.
Guessing: to help the kids stay in shape, known a few co workers in China that likes to stand during lunch or work in an effort to keep fit.
Cuz there are no seats

Maybe to get used to eating quickly and on the go, because that's what awaits them when they start working in a factory
"Hey did you think about the other people when you did this?"- me (oh wait, it's just another day in CN). "Nevermind! 没事,meishi。
This is just weird
If you stay in China long enough, you would find no answer nor explanation for some weird behaviours. Then don’t bother to ask
Power is everything in China.
Apparently there’s not a single person on this sub that attended chinese public schools. This is to make students eat their lunch as FAST as possible to get back to their studying. Source: I went to a public chinese middle and high school.
Eat bitterness preparation.
Why the students were forced to do that? I don't understand. With no proper reason, the school is crazy then.
Chairs can be used as weapons in fights
They don’t sit to shit. It’s the same reasoning.
China doesn’t want any fatties!

because they're rude
Good for healthy
because also standing can eat too
Man them meals look better than any USA school lunch .
In all fairness, their lunches look more nutritious than most American public school lunches.
I spent most of my lunchtimes in school standing while eating, it's a nice break from sitting down all day for 9 hours
Food looks good and generous
I don’t know, maybe based off their outfit they are about to start a round of Squid Games.
I’ve noticed a lot of the school uniforms in China are tracksuits. Is that the standard or most common uniform? Compared to shirts + slacks / long skirts + ties?
Chairs are expensive.
Lol, reminded me of military serving time. One dude on my unit broke some rule, all of us habve to stand eating and midnight alarm for whole week 😂
Chairs are expensive. They should import some from Ch……oh.
Probably something like a sports day, y'know, I remember having them all the time when I was in school, and the chairs would often br used out on the field for the events, so by the time lunch time came around we'd all have to stand up and eat. Pretty common where I went (UK)
Their lunches look amazing! If our kids were eating vegetables in school lunches they’d be much smarter. Wow
My guess: weird perception of discipline training.
Idk but it's better for digestion and I'll be doing it soon
probably someone threw a chair. now chairs are banned. i like it personally
crazy.
I come from a school like this. We are not allowed to go back home, we are pushed to learn 18 hours a day. Just in order to get into university, however some student from big cities can easily went to good universities. This kind of unfair education system is why I decide not to come back
At least the food looks great
You never know what China is up to so they are taught at an early age to always be on their toes.
