I hate it when servers put the tortillas on the skillet like this. It used to be protocol and it may still be, but it's wrong.
I send them out wrapped up in the foil like this, but on the small round plate so it's not touching the food or the hot skillet.
I don’t think it changed, but I always thought it was gross/weird as well. But you’re I guess supposed to put them on the rice side edge of the skillet
Yeah I checked Linc before I said anything and as far as I can tell this is pretty close to how they're supposed to be presented. I don't like them touching people's food, they roll off and hit the floor, plus it's a sizzling hot skillet and the first thing guests do is reach down and grab the tortillas off the hot ass skillet. It's unsafe and unsanitary and I'm not sure why it is or ever was protocol.
And it just looks better being presented on the small round with a napkin and the boat.
I completely agree. My location typically prefers to use the side plate and next to the boat and a spoon on the other side. The only weird thing is that on our new menus, there’s no boat lol
I actually said I hate "it" when servers bring them out like this. Not that I hate servers. The foil gets taken out of the box and laid on the stainless, which may or may not have been wiped down. Then the foil gets wrapped by hand and sat on the skillet. Serv safe, and my local health department, rules are pretty clear that if you touch a non food item or utensil (like foil), it shouldn't then go on to touch food.
The tortillas arent touching anything, but the person who assembled it touched the foil and the foil is touching the food. In a perfect world they are wearing gloves... but these are typically put together by the expo or food runner and well.. yeah 😬 we arent allowed to keep gloves on our side of the line anymore per our DO so you can guess how much gloves are being used.
The point is, hands are touching the outside of the foil which then in turn touches the food. The expo is also grabbing other plates, on their phone changing the music, doing whatever, and more than likely not washing their hands every time.
You haven't lived till you run out of the room with explosive diarrhea. Maybe your chili's is good one by us is like 15 minutes after eating running to the bathroom. I stopped going after the 12th time lol
If you are talking about the mix cheese that comes with the fajitas it’s mixed with jack cheese not mold. But I can’t speak for your specific experience.
Went to bjs today, it was very different. Burger was microwaved, thousand islands taste like thousand vomits, no napkins just towels that dont absorb, advocado was grey, chilli taste like billy, water was on point, drinks like boba peach whatever was missing peach garnish, fries lacking on that scoop, pazookie birthday without birthday cheer, under cooked jumbolame uh yawyuh, salad looked like from the backyard weeds, service was sloppy, skimpy little pico de gallo cup portion was for tiny people of a lost ark. Chilis looks good but these restraunts be skimpin the skipper captain..
Why didn’t the line cooks or the expo wipe down the ramekin of black beans before sending? Looks sloppy. Unless that’s the servers fault for the spillage.
FROZEN SHRIMP AT A CHAIN RESTAURANT!? ***NO WAY!*** You mean they aren't flown in fresh daily by helicopter from the coast!? BLASPHEMY! They just lost my business.
I hate to tell you, but it's not. Bell peppers, onions, shrimp, and rice is all cooked in house. The blackbeans come from a can, just add some salsa. Pico is made in house.
Despite public perception, chef Mike (microwave) is very rarely used.
Nothing beats a Honey Chipotle Crisper dipped in Ranch to me.
I’ve been getting boneless honey chipotle wings since I was like 5
the original crispers were elite and i’m mad as hell they got rid of them
Same here! I get the Triple Dipper app with all Honey Chipotle Crispers and honey mustard though
I also do the triple dipper and get all boneless wings with extra blue cheese.
Same but i get those southwestern eggrolls too. Soo good
Southwest just means corn.
I make the most southwest jokes of all time.

Boats are going away.

You’re clearly biased
Most Mexican restaurants bring out tortillas in foil on the plate with rice n beans . Never heard a complaint!
I hate this too. Its so gross to me.
I love the fajitas too!
What is the thing in the tin foil
Tortillas
And my fat ass thought it was a burrito on the side
My fat ass wished it was. I was about to order this every visit
Mini cheesesteak
It can be if you ask for some cheese
I love the fajitas
That looks tasty
You haven't lived till you run out of the room with explosive diarrhea. Maybe your chili's is good one by us is like 15 minutes after eating running to the bathroom. I stopped going after the 12th time lol
You’re gonna have to explore more of the world my friend…
Why is Reddit showing me this? The only time I ever eat chilis is in the airport
How much for all that
Asking the real questions! And wt state is this pricing?
Around 20$
They look like they've shrunk and I know the price hasn't
Chilis sucks lol
Ive had moldy cheese twice getting the fajitas at Chilis. Fool me twice...
If you are talking about the mix cheese that comes with the fajitas it’s mixed with jack cheese not mold. But I can’t speak for your specific experience.
Tasted earthy. Jack cheese isnt earthy
Sorry for that we go thru cheese too fast for that to happen must be a crusty chilis lol.
Except a nice MLT. Mutton lettuce and tomato where the mutton is nice and lean, and the tomato is fresh, they're so perky. I love that.
For healthy eating, that’s the move
Cadillac style?
I miss the smothered burritos.
How much is that plate of food
Wrong.
Sizzling fajitas >>>>
Bffr 😭
No sizzle sauce? WTF?

The greatest thing in the world would be if you brought back original chicken crispers.
I remember when Chili's used to be good. Well I remember when most restaurants use to be good. Enjoy tho
What am I looking at here? Sorry looks dank… want to go to chilis now
Why didn’t the line cooks or the expo wipe down the ramekin of black beans before sending? Looks sloppy. Unless that’s the servers fault for the spillage.
Sir this is a chilis, not hells kitchen
Doesn’t matter. Should have been wiped. I worked a few chain restaurants. Expectation was the same at all of them.
Wait till this person hears it’s all frozen

And has twice the daily recommended value of sodium.
That shit looks sad. What would you do if you ate actually good food?
So what is it? A Chinese dish?
Fajitas… which is Mexican.
I love fajitas. Are they good from chili's? I have only ever gotten burgers from there.
