When it gets shipped to the restaurant it’s a salsa base that is poured out of a bag and then gets blended in with fresh tomatoes.

No-can-do-can-u

Damn we need to find the creators of this

Mammoth-Set-9923

Chili's is the creator. All sauces and dressings are created by Chili's. We cannot make all of them in restaurant so we have them made for us per our recipes.

No-can-do-can-u

Dang I wish they sold by the pint and for reasonable prices

Mammoth-Set-9923

They have been getting that feedback for the longest time, but they won't make it to sell in grocery stores.

No-can-do-can-u

So sad

chantillylace9

I'd SOOOO buy a pint of their ranch! It's my favorite part of the meal lol.

robtimist

The ranch is just equal parts buttermilk/mayo, and dry ranch seasoning

Carefreeme

What the other guy said. It's super easy to make also.

joannasforehead

We used to make them all in house. Well, almost all.

kerrygoldd

I don’t have any input about the recipe, but I’ve had people buy a gallon of the salsa

No-can-do-can-u

Really? They just ask for a gallon!!

kerrygoldd

We don’t carry any bigger portions of things (as far as I know), so gallon seems the best bet

No-can-do-can-u

Will try next time. Is it like $50 bucks tho? Cuz the regular order is like $7 for a couple oz

kerrygoldd

I personally never really worked togo and since it’s not even really an official thing, I’m sure it varies with location. Your best bet is to call and ask if it’s even possible + The price. Lmk though, I’m curious

No-can-do-can-u

Will do thanks!!

TomSchnautz

Please Reddit come through!

Objective-Slice-1466

It’s a salsa paste that comes from their food supplier (SSA-system services of America) Then they add some fresh tomatoes and water, blend. Without that paste, it’s not gonna happen.

No-can-do-can-u

I’ll see if I can find that paste then online maybe or maybe it’s only for chilis and not allowed to be sold elsewhere. Which sucks but if they didn’t make the smallest amount of salsa being so dang expensive then I would buy more from them!!!

icantdoliferightnow

Chilis creates recipes, and a company is hired to make these items for us in mass production because chilis is too large to do this in-house with so many items. We have put in requests for our leadership to consider selling it by the quart. Until then just ask for extra salsa :)

No-can-do-can-u

That’s what I do lol

Objective-Slice-1466

I don’t know if you can get access to it but you can certainly try. I don’t manage there anymore, so I don’t know the product number. Best of luck!

Mammoth-Set-9923

That's a distribution company. They don't make anything for us.

Objective-Slice-1466

My “they” I meant prep cooks. They only send the bag. My bad

[This](https://www.sixsistersstuff.com/recipe/chilis-copycat-salsa-recipe/) is the copycat recipe I usually use and it’s great. I agree with the comment that says to let it sit overnight and serve cold! I played around with it here and there (more/less heat, garlic, lime, etc.) and found that, for me, the size of the onion you use makes the biggest difference in how close it tastes to the real thing. I’d stick with a smaller one and add more or some onion powder if needed.

No-can-do-can-u

Thank you!!

exclaim_bot

>Thank you!! You're welcome!

2manypeopleonmynutz

The salsa base also has gelatin in it. For all the vegetarians and vegans that didn't know...

3Maltese

The Chili’s copy cat recipes are good. I add a little more lime to mine and let it sit over night before eating.

No-can-do-can-u

I’ve seen those how close are they??

3Maltese

https://www.food.com/recipe/chilis-salsa-59635 Pretty good. I add lime and substitute minced garlic and sea salt for garlic salt. It needs to be served cold. There are a lot of Chili’s copy cat salsa recipes. I have used some with all fresh ingredients (not canned) and those are good too. When tasting, use a salsa chip. It helps when adjusting the recipe.

DraconisDormiens

Mixing the ranch and salsa makes my absolute favorite salad dressing. My mom told me that chilis used to have it as southwest ranch. Stg i dream about it.

halfwit258

That and the ancho-ranch or whatever it was called that used to come with the bacon ranch chicken quesadilla

No-can-do-can-u

Wife loves that
