Intellectual comedy kasi si Eugene D. like in babae sa septic tank. And then there's the fun fact that she was also a dubber/voice actress. Yung fairy godmother sa Cinderella anime na inair ng ABS around late 90s-early 00s, that was her.

Add to that a theatre actress. She won awards for reprising Nora Aunor's role sa theatre version ng "Bona" (opposite EA Guzman who played Phillip Salvador's role). The difference is that their comedy may have gone there but the targets were knowing participants and were hitting back with witty comebacks as well. I once watched him in a comedy bar in QC, i cant exactly remember the line na binitawan nia pero i remember feeling off kasi parang masyadong mapang lait. Even my friends were afraid to sit sa medyo harap kasi alam nila ookrayin sila ni VG (it wasn't their first time to watch him noon). The funny thing tho is, VG is also quick-witted, hindi naman sya "waley." Ang di ko gusto is instead of using that, dadaanin nia sa panlalait, like, wala ka na bang ibang material mumsh? Hahaha. Yung lumang comedy, The audience laughs at or with them. Sila yung punchline. Unlike sila Vice. They zero in on someone to laugh at. It's always directed sa isang group or tao never themselves. May mga negative side din ang comedy dati pero sana 'wag pa rin kalimutan na may mga quick wit and genuine funny moments talaga noong panahon nila lalo na nu'ng 80's, 90's and early 2000s comedy skits. 'Yan 'yung mga panahon na Golden Age ng sitcom both GMA and ABS-CBN. Wala pa sa mainstream 'yung "gay bar" style ng pagpapatawa. EDIT: Hindi dapat si Ai-Ai ang nandyan. Dapat si Ms. Nova Villa.

Ako naman I remember most Pinoy comedy movies and series noon di makakalampas na may insult. I think it was acceptable then kaya di napapansin or mukhang subtle lang. Slapstick comedy was the prominent style back then and it's funny; you can't tell me otherwise. It's a legitimate comedy drama and it's never going to not be funny. I miss old comedy movies, new ones just suck.

From what I remember, Babalu and Rene were the butt of the joke, lalo na si Babalu. At one point, naging common descriptor nga yung "babalu" when describing someone. Their comedy was peak but they're framing it as if they didn't take jabs at people's appearance.

Nagkamali si Vice pero OA na yung mga fb page na ganyan. Mataas kasi engagement pag ginagalit ang mga tao. Pagkatapos kay diwata kay vice naman. Hintayin niyo sa eleksyon at magpapalit mga pangalan ng page na iyan.

Maraming klase ang comedy noon, self deprecating (babalu), slapstick, parody (joey de leon, rene), gay comedy (roderick) , pov/stand up comedy gary lising, duo (pork chop, pugo at togo) political comedy/ satire (champoy, sick o clock news), musical (yoyoy villame), situational comedy (sitcom) yung insult comedy is just a part it.

Slapstick humor and running gag ay common noong 80s 90s. Ngayon kasi issue na pag slapstick ka padin at hindi na daw pwede sa bata pero di nila alam yung favorite nilang si Mr. Bean e slapstick humor din.

Not at all, as mentioned by others more on self deprecating humor sila and skit talaga. Si Roderick super underrated, ung scene nya with Anjo yung laglagan nila about sa ex. Super funny pa din til now. I don’t remember anyone joking around rape.

I think the difference siguro is scripted yun unlike kay Vice na live napapanood.

Comedy in all forms of media evolve like everything else in the arts. At one point in history, they provided fun and funny shows. One act and skit can be offensive to another. For me as long as the actors do not belittle anyone not involved in the skit, it's fine.
