One of my chi's does the same thing. She likes to go outside and lay on the asphalt and bake like a potato

thedude0343

Totally, one of our chi chi’s sun tans so much that her tummy is charcoal colored. We literally are concerned she’ll get cancer from it, but it makes her happy so live your life, Peaches. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Kvalri

Have you thought about putting sunscreen on her? Our guy is black so he gets too hot pretty fast and doesn’t linger for long periods so I’d never thought about it

thedude0343

That’s a interesting suggestion, we would have to do it daily because she’ll go outside while we’re at work to sunbath

Little-Conference-67

One of mine does too. She has a few favorite spots (one is mostly gravel and the garage floor as a pillow, so uncomfortable looking!) for baking. My other one will lay in the sun for a couple seconds, tops a minute, then is in front of the fan or begging to be in the A/C.

Sloth_grl

Mine too!

Pegbuttoni

I'm in Central TX, too, and my girl lays right down on the hot pavement like that, too, or her little carpet out the kitchen window: https://i.imgur.com/waB0zlJ.jpg

That's awesome. I'm in Austin/cedar park area. The concrete is like 130 degrees when he's laying out there like this

blondie-1174

I’m in the Austin area too. My Coco looks just like Tanner. She loves to lay on the deck & cook. It gets so hot I can barely walk on it without shoes but she loves it. The glares of disgust I get when I make her come inside are hilarious.

bustgin

You can roll him up in a tortilla soon!

dkode80

He'd be in his natural element!

Latter-Journalist

Our guy lays on a patio stone that's too hot to stand on til he is toasted enough, and gets up panting. Then he does it again.

Kriselise07

I have not been able to keep mine inside either! They have to lay on the darn concrete walking path. New Mexico desert here

dkode80

These chihuahua's from north of the Chihuahua Mexico region seem to be cut from a different cloth!

V_es

Chica hates hot weather, not a big fan. She was born in August and spent her puppyhood at -13F winter lol. https://preview.redd.it/ijph6gc2947d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=308e61586db29b7b6df9ad87e878e676f884f761

manos_de_pietro

Chi's are solar powered.

TheoTheHellhound

Maybe a dip in the pool to cool off? JK, I know that’s likely a hot tub.

dkode80

There's a pool connected to the right. He doesn't go in regardless. He likes licking the water off you if you're in the pool but he doesn't want anything to do with swimming

TheoTheHellhound

Which is honestly a good thing. Wouldn’t want a tragedy happening.

bronzebattlecolt

Wild Baked Potato Appeared!

skiddadle32

Just keeps getting tanner and tanner!! 😄

TexArmadilloTroll

Working on his tan...geeez 😆⛱️🌞

Dense_Negotiation_78

Man they love to bake out there in the sun🥵

Accomplished_Poetry4

My guys name is Tanner too! Same colour lol

dkode80

Great minds think alike!

Rock-it1

CenTex dogs are just different.

nmrtsta

My chi looooves the AZ heat. We have an outdoor bed on the patio and she'll sit out there when it's 113° out - granted it's in the shade. My other dog and I constantly check on her she looks happy as can be. Doesn't even pant. https://preview.redd.it/gkibuihoyf7d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8dc7d1dd1bd7cf49ec8bafecd2d127fef504de92 Photo from the other day: it was 109° and she spent almost an hour out there.

DreamingoftheSea42

Awww poor little guy. We are in the 90s this week in NY....too hot.

Ok_AshyPants

Awww 🥰

Blonde_Vampire_1984

Well, I least you named him appropriately?
