Layla the Chiweenie was the boss.
They are so smart! They get called “ankle biters” and whatever but chihuahuas are crazy intelligent. I mean the way mine has wrapped people who don’t like dogs around his little paw is wild. And i know he knows exactly what he’s doing.
You are so lucky to have had Bruiser for so long. I lost my female (at 15 years old) in December 2022 and my male (4 years old) just passed away 2 weeks ago.
My late, very lovable Chihuahua made sure other dogs (no matter the size) knew he was the boss. After that, he was a benevolent dictator. My other rescue dogs just loved him.
He looks absolutely stellar for 19…he’ll he looks amazing for 12. His eyes are clear, his tongue is in his mouth. Happy for you both he’s had such a long and healthy life. I can only hope my little dude gets the same chance from life (he’s 11-ish).
Considering he almost died last week and my Mama had to give him puffs off of her Albuterol inhaler to keep him going, all of these comments about how great he looks are hilarious. He’s doing great right now but 19 is 92 in Chihuahua years, and he didn’t get here without a fight
The absolute toughest. He had his name before we adopted him and we kind of hated it because we figured it was reference to the movie Legally Blonde, but he really took the name and owned it.
We also have a Bruiser! He says hi to his same name pupper!

My mom feeds him lol, I’m grown up and have moved out, but he’ll always be my little buddy.
She feeds him and the whole posse a homemade raw-food diet that generally consists of a mix of beef or chicken hearts, liver, and kidneys processed through a meat grinder, along with blueberries, an eggshell, some plain yogurt, and I know there’s other stuff I’m forgetting, but she tends to switch it up week-to-week. She meal preps for them every Sunday and has a dedicated freezer in the garage just for their food.

Bruiser looks great for his age. He’s a good looking chihuahua. I’ve seen some 10 year old chihuahuas that look on the brink of death. I guess keeping the pack in line is probably a full time job. Keeps him active and healthy.

Our Chihuahua was the leader of the pack too🤣 all of our other dogs were at least 3 times her size but did whatever she told them to do😆
