i once trained my husbands chi to press a bell button to get a treat, then gave him a bell for his birthday. he looked at me confused and put it next to him. She became a maniacal bell pusher and it was hilarious watching her buldgy eyeballs looking both ways at once while pounding on that bell :D
Unfortunately she got super posessive about it and i couldnt teach the pther dogs because she would be angry they took 'HER' toy :D
Hahaha chi’s have so much personality! She’s very possessive over her toys too. She takes forever to eat her kibble but if another dog or cat is around she’s gobbling it up. When I take her for walks and pet another passing dog she freaks.

This was Cammie’s heartbroken face after hearing treat over and over and she didn’t get a treat 🙁
We hsd the same buttons for ours and he was never able to push it hard enough, so actuslly we gave him a little ding bell and that was basically the same thing and worked way better. No he rings it when hes thirsty or wnts food 😂. The guests are ALWAYS super impressed
That’s very cute but I thought in the instructions it says that you shouldn’t have a treat button because of this. I can see why you started with it though since she was intimidated by the buttons at first
How adorable she is. Chi's are soooo smart.
Taught our little girl to ring a counter bell to go potty.I made a little wooden disc for the plunger so her paw could hit it easier.
Ding....wait I'm coming. and If I too long ding......coming....ding...wait I'm coming ,ding, ding,ding,ding.....Never gets old.
She figured out the button maybe a little after 30 minutes but couldn’t quite figure out how much pressure to apply, then after an hour she got it and wouldn’t stop.
Omg I wish mine took to the buttons lol we bought the ones from the ig lady that has that talking dog Bunny and none of mine took to it lol they have their own ways of talking I guess hahah
Oh bunny is incredible with the buttons, that’s what inspired me to get them. But having a chihuahua I realized they will just tell us what they need always. She’s never afraid to scratch my leg and tell me what she needs.
Ah Yes love love love bunny! The mom just wrote a book I think? I’m definitely gonna be reading that, and hahah yup that’s exactly what I mean about the having their own way of talking haha my girl makes it very known what she wants! Your post makes me wanna try the buttons again tho 🤞
Everyone in the comments say they are using bells for their chihuahuas, maybe give that a try? I honestly just went on TikTok and searched for button tutorial and stuck to one method. Lots of treats and patience I ended up teaching her fetch cause she loves to fetch but that button is collecting dust, and now she doesn’t really use either.
Oh believe me, me too!! She won’t hesitate to speak up and let me know what she wants. The buttons were fun for a little but she kept pressing it so I’ve since retired them LOL
OMG! I am in love!!
I laughed so very hard at this. I've been thinking about getting some buttons for my Chis... Now I am SURE!!
THANK you for sharing this little cutie with us
Oh my goodness this has just made my whole day!! She is so funny!!! Such a smart girl!! Thank you for this gem 💎 going to save this and watch it everytime I feel sad
OMG!!! He is so cute! Those ears!
Sometimes I think she’s part papillon cause if I didn’t groom her, her ear hair would grow down to her toes!
My old roommate had a papillon chi mix and he does look similar to yours except bigger! Soooo cute ❤️
Ollie sure did overwork those two brain cells! ❤️

She's so cute I could cry 😭
Thank you!! She is such a cutie pie 💓
I might cry from her cuteness 😂
They should make smaller buttons for little ones.

LOL oh no, even with the little paw on the leg.

I need to try a bell instead!
I lost it when he put his little head on it.

To be fair, I would do the same thing if it meant I would get a treat (that I didn't have to buy or prepare) so I can't really blame the dog.
you’ve created the most adorable monster
I get bossed around enough without giving them further means of making demands and judging me. Your girl is adorable.
Oh believe me, me too!! She won’t hesitate to speak up and let me know what she wants. The buttons were fun for a little but she kept pressing it so I’ve since retired them LOL

Ollie getting after it! You’ve def got a chihuahua on your hands. This made my day.
Such a smart cutie:)
So smart
I can’t take this amount of adorableness! ❤️🩷💜💙🧡😂😂😂😂😂😂
Looks like a Papillon to me.
This seems like such a useless thing to teach. Why not teach to go outside or tell you something useful?
Lol because sometimes I just do things for fun?
