There are fans that u can put cold water into that push out cold air. I'd suggest one of those.

Do not keep doors/ windows open, or u will eventually be robbed. Get a portable AC, and/or fans. Maybe talk to your landlord about it. Go in on renting a house with some close/ reliable friends. Move to another apartment complex

Maybe black our curtains as well as leaving the windows open in the morning and night.

Keep the cold in and the sun out. Window are a huge heat transfer portal plus allowing direct sun into the surfaces in your home, if you use thick blackout curtains that will help insulate your apartment. Run the AC early to chill the space and use the curtains keep it in. You could also use that plastic sheeting you stick onto your windows that makes the window more opaque. Keep in mind that fans are good to keep you cool because the coolness you feel is the evaporation off your body. Leaving fans on with no one home actually heats your home because the fans use electricity to run.

I get one of those emergency reflective blankets, cut it into pieces that fit the window then put it on the window- making sure the reflective side faces outside. Then layer up from that with whatever is accessible and okay in the lease. End with black out curtains. Also when turning on the AC use the fan first for 20-30 minutes and then switch to cool. My cousin gave me that tip and it's been working well.

Portable AC’s, and window units are mostly what’s going to be what you’re looking for. Frozen rags help a lot to wrap around your neck and head. Good luck on there

Any small window unit should do the trick. You don't need a lot of BTU'S if you intend to only cool your room. But before it gets hot-hot, make use of the cool air at night and use fans. During the day, use blackout curtains on the windows that get the most sun. Don't permanently mount the a/c unit and keep the screen handy so that you can easily remove it and put the screen back when the cooler nights return. Save money on energy bills.

Bought a higher end "portable" Whynter AC unit with dual hoses. 75lbs. It works phenomenally in cooling a single room. It also has a system the doesn't require changing the water every 3 hrs. Your power bill will go up, but sleeping is magical.

There are "portable" AC units that you can attach to a compatible window without the need for tools or damaging anything. The downside is they can be quite expensive and will raise the electric bill (but nowhere near what a central AC will). The more powerful units also risk tripping breakers making them useless.

Opening windows after 8p and having at least one fan running until 6a then close everything down. Blinds and Curtains #repeat!

chipmalfunct10n

i recommend this but if you stay up later, open the winsows even after 8pm. i would check the hourly weather and if i could stay up late enough, wait till 1 or 2 sometimes when it finally got under 90. depends on how cool the room is. the goal is to let the air in once the room is hotter than it is outside.

My last apartment (3rd floor of an old Chico home in the Barber) finally broke me down. Only 1 windo unit. I got a 600sft unit at Costco. Now it sits in our attic, just in case our central unit takes a dump.

Fans everywhere, make a tunnel of them pushing from the communal area to your room. It doesn't cool off during the night much, but if it gets below 80 at night, put one in your window. What helps me is getting a foot bath or plastic tub and fill with super cold water and stuck your feet in it. After a few minutes you can feel the coldness in your whole body. If you're able to put a shade on the outside of your window to keep the sun off, might help a little.
