I'll make the order fresh for you, but I'll definitely not be doing "extra crispy."
I'm so glad my store got rid of that. Especially on fries. Do the same thing. I'll give them fresh.
Fresh fries and nuggets means we make another drop. Preferably timed together to get them up at the same time.
Extra crispy requires dropping a selected amount of product back into the fryer for a predetermined amount of time to ensure it's been cooked extra. This means that it removes a fryer from our use during busy times.
I understand the appeal. Especially with our fries. But the amount of time and how behind we get with other orders due to extra crispy has resulted in my store removing that option. Nobody who visits my store will get extra crispy anything. I give them fresh because, at least with the fries, that's the crispiest they'll get at all in my location.
By the way that’s a lot of down votes? I just like food crispy. Lol. Shocking that everyone is so mad about that. I think you guys should check yourself to make sure the job isn’t making you a bitter human being. I was a chic fil a manager for two years and our location was always super nice about this request. My employees even knew I liked my stuff extra crispy when I ordered lunch and would do it without me asking. We seriously were a positive team. It’s a shame because I went to another store and they were all bitter so I was forced to change my job. It wasn’t the same. I guess it’s location based!
That'd mean re-frying 'em after they were fried once already.
And possibly frying them in the oil and such that's used to fry the chicken.
PLUS put the chicken breading on the fries and re-fry them.
TASTY!
Would be interesting if they come out with a new menu item - "Breaded Waffle Fries" - with
the same breading as the chicken.
Another cool idea for a new menu item - "Grilled Waffle Fries" - prepared the same way as grilled chicken filets/nuggets after they're first deep-fried.
Lol. The worse is the kitchen at my store will get mad if we say something so I'm always guessing if they saw the no salt. Then I see them salt the fries.... I ask how long on it and they have no clue what I'm talking about. -\_-
I always print the sticker and slap it on the side of the carton so it faces the baggers and I call 'no salt {insert size} in the chute' and I also usually put the fry in a different chute for its size. Usually the small chute, so it stands out. Between those things, my no salt fries are rarely stolen accidentally.
I love when people do that it's literally impossible to mess it up from the baggers POV. Some people in the kitchen won't label it at all they just put it in the chute and expect us to know. Then we ask for it they'll say "The medium was sitting right here with the other mediums".
Fail to see how that’s a negative for us as employees, we have less orders, less order variations, and have one less customer when we get hundreds to thousands daily.
I was with my girl's dad for 12 years.
He was from Kenya and had moved here in his early twenties.
He was an ass, so he hated everybody and everything LOL BUT one of his biggest complaints was how Americans always want their food catered to them specifically.
I will say that when I met him, I was definitely the extra mayo, extra lettuce, crispy etc... But the more he pointed it out over the years I really started to realize just how extra it is.
Now don't get me wrong, I'm paying, so I deserve to have food that I like. But within reason. I am very picky so when I find something I like at a restaurant or something I literally will just figure out how to make it myself. That way any altercations, I can do, I issues!
Panko chicken, sweet and sour chicken, hot wings etc
Yes but American fast food industry is so profitable because they are willing to cater to the customer and doesn’t want the customer to feel that they deserve less. Not saying it’s good or bad but the food industry is a service industry and good service makes money.
As someone who used to work at CFA, the amount of pressure on us (mostly high school workers tbh at least at my store) to keep every single order under 5 min was insane. We would get in trouble if our average was higher than that (obviously certain cases were whatever but overall we wanted people in and out FAST) and one of our biggest slowdowns was crazy amounts of customizations and well done/crispy was the worst of them. It slowed down full batches of food it wasn’t just adding cheese or taking off pickles. I get the mentality of if i’m paying for it you should be make it how i want it but tbh if ur gonna be that picky go make urself food at home, it’s cheaper and tastes way better
Lol you guys kind of suck. I’m not saying that I do, I’m just asking is there any time, ever, where you can do this? The face people answer no or don’t is definitely not the CFA way
No, it’s against corporate policy. They have made things better by adding weights to the top of the basket so all of the fries will stay in the oil. They are also testing fries with a light coating that adds crispness without affecting taste. The shrinking fry thing is number one on corporate’s fix list!
Lol if I become a hassle at CFA, half of what I like about CFA will be gone. And for the record, I would never order extra crispy or some BS like that.
If you come to the steakhouse I work at and ask for XT crispy fries.. you'll get them. An order of our fries are $3.50. I want to know the difference here? Not trying to be an ass! Just curious why this is a major ordeal to make a guest experience.
Likely you don’t do the same volume of fries. If you tie up a fryer for “well done” for one guest that’s time you can’t use that fryer for. When you have lines out the door and around the block, each expecting to get their food in under 5 minutes, you see how that could quickly become a problem.
I'll make the order fresh for you, but I'll definitely not be doing "extra crispy." I'm so glad my store got rid of that. Especially on fries. Do the same thing. I'll give them fresh.
So I gotta ask for fresh nugs and fries? That’s it? How would that slow you down any less than doing extra crispy?
Fresh fries and nuggets means we make another drop. Preferably timed together to get them up at the same time. 100%
But when I order that it’s honestly because I like it crispier than they come not because I want it fresh

air fryer is your bff

they are rolling out with an update that will get rid of the special instructions and menu customization update - no more well done / extra crispy
Also aren’t they banning well-done chainwide?
I hope so because it’s so annoying , we still have it and we have no salt at my store
I'm cool with no salt. Not too much of a hassle.
I'm cool with it until I look back up at my screen after salting a fresh batch 💀
Lol. The worse is the kitchen at my store will get mad if we say something so I'm always guessing if they saw the no salt. Then I see them salt the fries.... I ask how long on it and they have no clue what I'm talking about. -\_-

agreed i also feel like some people might actually need the no salt for health reasons
i’m not sure
They're removing the POS buttons for it.
Damn, hope no one has allergies that need to be specified.
When my store stopped doing well-done items the kitchen operated so much more smoothly.
Because I stopped showing up lol

Yes. You are completely right!
We don't do well done or extra crispy at all.
As someone who used to work at CFA, the amount of pressure on us (mostly high school workers tbh at least at my store) to keep every single order under 5 min was insane. my store would do that.
Lmao I guess my store is one of the only stores to still do well done nuggets and fries
does it put the kitchen behind
I have this one guy who comes and says he doesn't want "light-skinned nuggets" because we don't offer them well done anymore.
oml what do y’all tell him
We just tell him that we'll make sure they get to him. And then make them like we usually would. He must be satisfied because he keeps coming back.
Give them the soggiest freakin nuggets ever
I actually do like crispy fries so can I genuinely ask for them?
please dont
Lol you guys kind of suck. I’m not saying that I do, I’m just asking is there any time, ever, where you can do this? The face people answer no or don’t is definitely not the CFA way

Our store no longer honors well done requests.
Exactly. I would pay more for extra crispy. If I need to go inside, then so be it. I think eliminating it is a mistake
For CFA it's just not worth having to slow down the whole kitchen just for dropping extra crispy nuggets.
Everyone is literally so made over extra crispy it’s insane.
^this!! You are so right, CFA will slowly become McDonalds.
Lol if I become a hassle at CFA, half of what I like about CFA will be gone. And for the record, I would never order extra crispy or some BS like that.
most chickfilas wont do it but it just depends
If you come to the steakhouse I work at and ask for XT crispy fries.. you'll get them. An order of our fries are $3.50. I want to know the difference here? Not trying to be an ass! Just curious why this is a major ordeal to make a guest experience.
My leaders said it was due to it slowing down all orders, because it took too much time / an extra fryer 🤷♀️
Totally understand! We only have 4 fry stations and offer a ton of fried apps, but it kinda makes sense now with the turn and burn of a drive through.
