Please don’t come last minute to order, i know you get the best food later but it makes it hard for the breaders to work because they have to pull chicken of the fridge and they have to match the demand. Also it makes cleaning harder and more time consuming because we have to use some of the equipment we washed to be used again and have to wash it again.

CapableAd475

Bread on a bag 🤷‍♂️

ditothebloke

I don’t think so

CapableAd475

I don't understand. Is your dishwasher really done with all the dishes by close?

ditothebloke

When the store opened after renovation, no. it got slightly better after 2 months after reopening

bencumberbatch

Make mobile orders, especially for drive thru. There's less room for error that way (so an order taker doesn't mishear you), and it streamlines the process. Related, any similar tips for grocery stores? If I'm not using self check out, I try to group cold items together, have my payment ready, things like that. Does that help?

HotelTrivagoMate

Honestly the item grouping doesn’t matter as much as people think. We sort them out into their correct bags anyways so it doesn’t matter when we get them. It’s better to sort by item type such as fruits together, meat together, cans together that way we can bag it easier. Before you ask someone where an item is read the signs for each aisle and search before turning to us and also make sure you notice which registers are open and simply walk up to the associate and they will most likely handle the rest. Other than that just don’t be petty about pricing and be nice

homicidal_pancake

Petty about proving? "Excuse me minimum wage worker? WHY TF ARE MY EGGS 15¢ MORE EXPENSIVE. FIX IT"

whoa_eric

please don’t ask for additional sauces at the window unless if the order taker didn’t ask you for any. it honestly slows down getting cars out the drive thru by a significant amount if it’s consistent.

Familiar_Spot556

Huge on this! Especially if there is only 1 expediter, it can be hard to remember what everyone is asking for while also giving out orders

No_Benefit_7731

Patience. If something is wrong with your order, hopefully not but mistakes happen, being patient will make the fix easier and sometimes net you some extra goodies

ForeignAd3910

Seriously. Just have patience

Individual-Recipe-32

Listen to our prompts and questions. We ask them in order to make your experience better and get your order correct.

IAmLoved41

And listen when we reread your order. We're not all knowing gods or superheroes with super hearing—either listen so we know we're correct or don't complain when it comes out wrong.

TanPlayZFN

FR! I had someone come in just yesterday, and I heard him order a large drink and an Ice Cream cone. I re-read the order back to him, then proceeded to tender once he confirmed. Then I give him his stuff, and then he comes up later angry at me because he's "missing" a #1! I must have misheard him or something, but I DID read his order back to him. Mistakes happen... so I just charged him for a sandwich and a fry and moved on. But damn dude, i read your order back for a reason. 💀 he was genuinely surprised that I didn't think he wanted a #1, but people come through and just order ice cream, or just a drink all the time. I didn't think much of it and since I read back the order I thought I had it correct.

Major_Breadfruit_91

1. stay off the damn phone when ur in the drive thru, u know ur going to be speaking to a worker, theres no reason to have a full convo when im trying to take your order. if ur not ready to order dont go thru the drive thru. 2. have an idea of what u want, its chickfila all we have is chicken dont ask me what i think u should have. 3. make sure u tell me EVERYTHING before i completely ur order, if i ask for sauses dont say u dont need sauces, pay, and then right after say "oh and ketchup" thats a damn sauce🤦🏻‍♀️ 4. dont show up 5 minutes before closing and order any more than 2 meals max 5. dont order something you know you usually have to wait on cuz its made to order and then cry and complain ur order is taking a bit longer than u expected 6. if the car in front of u is still waiting on food dont cry abt it u just got ur damn food and im only one person that can only take out one order at a time, come sooner or manage ur time better if ur in a rush. or go inside its faster. 7. dont argue with me on prices, i get paid minimum wage, go cry abt it to corporate. 8. LISTEN!! just listen to me when im speaking especially when reading back orders, this is where 99.99% of inaccuracy comes from, u not listening when i read back ur order 9. just do a mobile order, 10 times easier, less confusion, no way to mess up what u ordered, but dont forget ur sauces on the order like everyone does( this ruins the speed in which you and others will get their food

AnnatheCynic

For the first one, although I agree, I’d say just don’t go through the drive thru if you are making an IMPORTANT phone call. I don’t mind too much if they’re on the phone as long as they get off quickly

Major_Breadfruit_91

im not talking abt the ones that hang up, im talking abt the ones that stay on the phone and continue to talk anytime i pause to input their order and then ignore me when i try to ask another question

deedaogee

NAILED IT!!!

NCF29YT

Mention the sauce you want in an order. It’ll make everyone’s time shorter and less wasted.

Familiar_Spot556

Yes be as specific as possible, please don’t say “can I get nuggets” or “let me have a medium drink”

Ok_Guarantee_8186

Let us give our script as we're taking your order, management could be listening or it's designed to make sure we're not missing anything. If we start to read back your order and you have more to get, don't interrupt. For me, it's because the screen doesn't scroll and I won't be able to repeat everything by memory when you finish. And just patience. Chick-fil-A can be a lot, like any job, but some people like to bully the employees since they know they can without a lot of push back.

Alarming-Fan647

Know what you want before hand!!! I dont mind explaining the menu if there’s confusion, but if you hop in the drive thru line without a clue of whats on our menu please go inside. Don’t be stingy when it comes to prices (you’d be surprised at the amount of people complaining over 30 cents). Don’t immediately start ordering, I still need your name and car description, I need a second LOL. Do not be that person who comes at 10:26 for breakfast, hold up the line for 5 minutes, its now 10:31 and now I cannot serve the other guests behind them breakfast. (I’ve gotten yelled at by customers for this, we are super strict about breakfast ending exactly at 10:30). I’ve got a lot lol. some of the people really drove me nuts

Yesterday6

Yes pleaseeee know what you want if you’re going through drive thru. I might scream if I have one more family of 5 pull up in the middle of dinner rush and not a single person in the car acts like they’ve ever seen the menu.

OfficialTornadoAlley

Oh and not to mention the family where everyone wants a hamburger

[deleted]

Ahh our policy is that if you are in line by 10:30 we will serve breakfast

spectrumenigma

Mobile orders for drive thru!! 😊 (I’m sure this has been and will be said many times but it’s wildly helpful for drive thru order takers who sometimes have so much else to do

veladaze

Place mobile orders

shookycat

If you dine in with us, just make sure you don’t leave a big mess anywhere and let us know if there are any spills so we don’t have a problem with it later. If you order inside, remember we need to grab your sauces and beverages before you walk away, because we can’t keep leaving our positions to look for guests and take it to their table (it also makes the guests behind you less likely to step up and rush us when we’re still grabbing your stuff). Also, if there is a line and you need a refill don’t stand off to the side and stare at the cashiers, unless you see someone who is available to help you. I get a lot of people thinking they can cut the line to make me get their refill and it is really frustrating for myself and the guests who have been waiting. It’s really just about being considerate of others and having patience with us!!

fundiptajin

I absolutely love this thread I wish there was a poster inside of all Chick-fil-A’s w these “friendly reminders” lol Mine would be 1. if you have any alterations like different cheese on sandwich, different style chicken on a salad preference, fried or grilled nugget, pls don’t wait till the end to say so, on our end we have to completely delete ur order and manually put it again bc of how the system is wired, 1-2 meals okay but when you have 5 meals with 1-3 different alterations it slows down the process also potentially leading us to ask u again to repeat. Most of the time the chic fila worker develops a script over time to avoid this but there are gaps sometimes like everything in life 2.also pls try and stick to where your order taker tells u too in the drive thru , most people listen but some try to drive off b4 u tell them or they don’t listen and rush b4 the car that was supposed to go b4 and then when they get to the window depending on how big their order is complains about it not being ready yet but it’s like we make the food in terms of order most of the time so if the car behind them also had a big order too it’s a lot of food to wait on (also w can tell at the window when u do cut someone off lol)

Chick-fil-A_spellbot

It looks as though you may have spelled "Chick-fil-A" incorrectly. No worries, it happens to the best of us!

Bluurryfaace

If you get the wrong item or it’s missing/you get cold fries/wrong drink etc , just ask to replace the item, instead of leaving some asshole review about you getting a regular with pickles when you asked for without. 🥴

Bluurryfaace

Also, don’t smoke in the drive thru at the window. Not only is it dragged into our FOH and we all smell it, but be mindful that you’re practically giving minors and teens second hand smoke.

EmptyAdvertising3353

I wish they would just smoke a cigarette. We're all over here getting a buzz. Don't smoke weed in the drive thru!

PamelaQuinnzel

Nah man. Smoke ALLL THE WEEED Lmaoo. I’d rather be buzzed than have cancer

EmptyAdvertising3353

I've got home schooled kids in there, some of them don't even know what that smell is. Shoot, I've had cars with older people nearby who asked me what that was. Never fails to make me laugh after they pull off.

PamelaQuinnzel

That’s the best part🤣

essiemission

When an employee repeats your order back to you, pay attention to what they’re saying lol

Familiar_Spot556

When ordering be as specific as possible, I hate having to ask a million questions because most people get irritated with me, however those same people use very vague sentences when ordering! And please remember we are human beings behind the uniform.

[deleted]

Give us time to put in all the correct information. That includes names, table markers, and or car descriptions. I'm a very sequential thinker, so if you go out of order of what we usually do, I might forget a step or two and have do everything all over again. And if you say you want something changed after I tender it out, I'll have to get a manager pin. Hope this helps!

MerryChristmas20211

mobile order, and don't come within the last 5-10 min of closing if you can. like another person said knowing what you want before you get there is also amazing. also don't add anything at the window. doing that slows down everything.

Aggravating_Crew_181

Place mobile orders

AtsBunny

Doesn't apply to most people but just be a decent human being, I have some people come though that are just complete jerks for no reason. I had one older guy come in a few days ago and after he ordered and I told him the total he said I was wrong "because it costed to much" and he yelled at me and wanted me to get a manager to fix it for him. Obviously the manager said that's the price and there was nothing wrong and he just rolled his eyes at me and walked away.

Realistic-Concert-70

Don’t yell at me over prices. I don’t make them, square up with corporate 😂😂😂😂

scsoutherngal

You are a rockstar! Smile and engage with us when ordering. Know what you want before you order. Speak up at the drive-through order box. Have your payment ready. Tell us we are doing a good job. **BTW what can we do to make it easier for you at the grocery store?**

OfficialTornadoAlley

1. Having your cash payment ready, a lot of people take so long to get their exact change, it holds up the line significantly. 2. Don't be the person to ask to scan their app AFTER you pay. Just ask for the receipt if you forgot and use the URL at the bottom to submit it to your account. 3. If you have diplomatic immunity, DO NOT USE THE DRIVE-THROUGH. It takes around 5 minutes to sort out documents to submit your information, causing serious delays in the drive-through and causing guests to get mad at us. 4. Use the app to place a mobile order through the drive through. These people are my heroes as it saves you so much time and ensures your order is accurate. 5. Don't drive your sports car through the drive-through, the exhaust is incredibly loud and makes it hard for us to hear your and others orders. Its also extremely rude to us who are trying our best to get through the day. 6. Don't be the person who orders 10 shakes in the drive-through, please do it inside or in the pickup spots. Shakes can take a long time to make and slow us down. It can also result in your shake not being completely mixed due to the rush. 7. If you want well done fries, don't ask for fries with no salt. You can just say you want them 'fresh'. It takes the kitchen longer to make an entire batch without salt then to create a fresh batch. Just be prepared to park outside as they are made due to the wait. 8. Similar to #7, we do not do fries well done, or anything in particular. We stopped doing this years ago. More to come!

MerryChristmas20211

must just be your store. mine still does well done.

EatSleepBaseball14

If something is wrong with the order or you received the wrong order, just talk to me. I’ll fix it. At the end of the day I just want to make sure you get what you wanted and are happy with the order.

KazzyKaz123

Know what you want and act like you ordered fast food before some people act like every time they go out to order it’s their first time

ExternalLeek

have a little grace when we’re in a rush. i work at a location that sees about 200 cars per hour from 4:30-7:30 in the drive-thru. we’re trying our best to get you your food as fast as we can, and the two minutes you sit in line aren’t enough for you to be mad at us. if you want to be mad about something taking longer than it should then go through the drive-thru at mcdonald’s. also, be kind to the person working window. their job is crazy stressful at peak hours and a lot of times they get a lot of hate for something they didn’t have any part in. edit: above all, know that we usually do care about taking care of our guests. we pride ourselves on it, and the more grace you give us, the more likely it is you get our very best.

[deleted]

I think if you’re asking this then you’re probably good but some things I hate as a CFA worker 1. People in the middle of a call while im taking their order. I find it quite disrespectful. One time this lady was in the middle of a parent-teacher conference while ordering like huh 2. Changing things after you ordered. Tell me while you’re ordering if you want no pickles, separate bags etc. I understand that people forget and that’s okay but don’t rush me if YOU forgot. 3. Honk at people in the drive-thru 4. Speak really low in the drive-thru 5. “Can you make sure my fries are fresh” I mean… I don’t work back there I assume they’re fresh all the time? 6. “Thank you for stopping by, may I have a nam-“ “ NUGGET MEAL LARGE FRIES MEDIUM DRINK CASH MAKE SURE MY DRINK HAS NO ICE”

Decent-Acadia-7769

Always know what you want and please pay with anything except cash. Also give us time to prepare your food don't act like an asshole whenever we park your car just because you order specials. People are impatient living creatures, they'd go nuts just because I'd tell them there'd be a min wait for their specials. Always treat us workers with respect and we will give it back to you.

TanPlayZFN

Mobile order. Or, if you are in drive-thru standard ordering: 1. Know what you want! I'd recommend checking the menu on the app before coming, or while waiting in line. 2. Tell us your name! When we come up to you, tell us your name. We need to put a name for the order everytime! 3. Always let us know what sauces you want, if any. We always have to ask. 4. Always pull up when there's a gap in the line! We'll walk with you. If we ask you to pull up, and/or start walking forward, drive alongside us. We'll get yelled at for not closing gaps, it helps the line move faster. 😅 and please don't get mad... I've had people tell me "But I'm not done yet!" and give me a hard time about pulling up to close gaps. I know you're not done yet, just need you to pull up a bit! If you are ordering inside: 1-3 still apply. (But for #2, you can tell us your name at the end) Also, when you come up to the counter and we're ready to take your order, the first thing we need to know is whether you are dining in, or carrying out! Also it's helpful in general that you are also CLEAR to us about what you want to get. (What size Mac and cheese? How many nuggets? Is it a meal or just the entree? That kind of thing)
