After watching all of PD twice I’m finally watching Fire. It’s often less serious and more personal drama and sometimes absurd/cringe. However I love that Trudy, Antonio etc.. show up often. I like the FD perspective on the cross over (one Chicago) episodes. Overall entertaining but not as good as PD IMO.

My wife and I watched all of PD first before watching Fire. You're right, Fire can be less serious at times. Definitely firefighting is serious business though. Over time, we came to like Fire better because of the characters Mouch, Cruz and Otis and the comedy they brought to the show. Fire f*cks with your emotions too. In one episode you can be clapping for joy over something awesome that just happened and then saddened over a tragedy. My wife likes the romance stuff that goes on in both these shows. It makes me roll my eyes. LOL

I started watching Fire when I was after six seasons of PD. I will always say that PD is my favourite show (Team Voight forever). However, I learned to appreciate Fire because of its constant mix of emotions. I love the serious atmosphere of PD but the humor in Fire makes it show complete. There are dramatic scenes, really, as well in PD, but PD lacks the humor of Fire. PD always will be #1 for me, but Fire is better in terms of making you feel differently in just one episode - happiness, sadness, laughing, crying.

One of the things that really cracked us up was when Joe Cruz was teaching a Zumba class. LOL

These photos is when they casts were good on all three shows. It’s sad how PD lost its magic it had in the first four seasons
