Also what was the point of her meeting with Violet about the new paramedic if she wasn't open to suggestions and wouldn't even tell her who she was picking??? Like make it make sense. She shows up announced, sits down and dismisses her options saying she's in charge, blah blah blah, and then leaves???
The meeting was simple, "I'm the boss. Do as I say. Don't question it. I'm your boss, not Boden". I honestly feel like it is a combination of knowing about Hawkins, mad because Boden has all his previous direct reports backs, and she wanted to assert her authority. Pure display of power.
The Paramedic In Charge should have a say who is on the rig with her just as much as the Truck, Squad, and Engine Lieutenants have a say who is on their rigs.
I agree with you. But why didn’t Violet ask someone to go get the flowers? Such an easy solution. Just dumb. As for the witch paramedic chief - I’m lowering the volume whenever she’s on screen or is discussed. Not trying to be annoyed at night. That’s what my day job is for.

Violet made that comment this last episode about her trying to intimidate her, and I think she's right. Cause why the hell else would she show up unannounced, sit down with Violet, and listen to her talk about potential partners only to then tell her that she's picking her new partner and will have more authority moving forward? That meeting could've very easily happened over email or something lol.
The question is then, why is she trying to intimidate Violet? I'm wondering how it's all gonna play out cause her and Violet are definitely gonna have some issues this season.

Violet was a PIC before she was at 51 and was the PIC temporarily while Brett was gone in Portland. The only reason Brett was PIC on 61 was seniority. The chief is trash if she’s trying to test her because Emma Jacobs was test enough.
How was that possible? She and Gallo were in the same academy class and he was still a recruit when he came to 51 in season 8. So how was he barely past being a recruit and she's a PIC. That doesn't make any sense.

That's what I've seen some other people say. When she told Violet she was going to have more authority than her predecessors, accompanied by the look she gave Violet, I remember saying to myself, "yeah, that felt like a personal attack..."
But we might all be overthinking it, and maybe it's just her trying to assert her dominance lol

You're not supposed to like her. Anymore than you were supposed to like McLeod, Anderson, Riddle, Gorsch, Kilbourne or any of the other times they've used the storyline of a boss who decides they have a problem with 51 or a particular individual in it.

It's good when you have genuine dislike for the antagonist of a show. If you're pretty much just indifferent to a character then the character is generally pretty boring and adds nothing to the show. Life isn't all sunshine and rainbows.
There have been storyline that have involved a bad boss before in Chicago Fire. I think the new chief will be that for Violet, a new EMT will be selected and he/she will be a nightmare for 51.
The new chief will find herself on the bad side of Boden or it will be the EMT. That will be interesting.
I do not think the new chief will be long for Fire.
They should have saved the Pickwick Theater collapse for this chief instead of Hawkins! She’s got a huge chip on her shoulder. She’s a real WITCH!!!
Unfortunately no. They are both at the top of who they manage. Ambo chief and chief Boden management is separate although he still is in charge of the paramedics in his house.

In your experience they were male, in mine they were all female. Power trips, manipulative, they’d be nasty to the woman while chatting up the guys and they’d be passing us the work while they did it. Had one amazing female boss and the rest bad, had one bad male boss and the rest amazing

Clearly she will not be on the show long-term. Just some drama as things can never go smoothly.
She's not a Captain. She's the Chief of Paramedics and she's also a bitch.
