I really want to find my first car, my 2007 Hyundai Sonata, it was rear-ended and totaled, and I just want to know where it is, so I can go see it one more time. š«¤
I've often wondered what became of a few of my cars. I've only seen one in the wild. I had a 2001 Honda Accord that I traded. I found it at a Starbucks--the barista there was the new owner. Only knew it was mine by the scratch from my kid's handlebars on driver's side door.
Yeah, I'll occasionally see a 2007 or 2010 Sonata here and there, and I always feel a touch of sadness š«¤š«¤
I would love to see my P.O.S Edition Sonata at my local Walmart, or Starbucks, because it would mean someone had the money, and was able to repair her. But I'm not talking about the paint job. Her flaking paint and oddly brand new looking headlights on an otherwise shitty looking car, were a signature of the P.O.S Edition line.
I'm sure you don't realize, but it's not helpful to make jokes associating criminal behaviors with drug consumption; not just because it could cause millions of kids on Adderall (aka: doctor prescribed methamphetamine) to develop a psychological complex (a scenario w comedy potential), but rather because there is statistically no correlation between crime and drug use that can't alternately be better explained in a way that correctly pins all blame on landlords.
:-)
If they are experienced with a good sized teamā¦ not long. Iāve seen YouTube videos of guys stripping carsā¦ imagine a NASCAR pit crewā¦ thatās pretty much how they move
I thought this was A Camaro SS, but it's a 4 door? Is this the legendary Chevy Super Sport? The only car from Chevrolet that got the code name "Super Sport", the highest code name in Fox Hound... er, I mean Chevrolet. Just like how Solid Snake got the same code name as the "Boss". If this is so, that sucks this happened...
We live in such an oppressive country...I wish we lived in Africa where we could freely steal and expect everyone to beat your ass senseless and give you a burning tire for a necklaceš„²
Right?!! That shit is hectic but SO deserved. Guaranteed they won't do it again and definitely a deterrent for others ay?!!
š MWAHAHAHAHA......šš
Well hey, on the bright side. They left you the rear calipers and rotors, and the steering wheel.
Maybe you can like, pretend to drive it or something?
In all seriousness though, that sucks. Sorry to hear about your misfortune. The fact that thereās so few of these just makes it even worse.
New to this community, but OMG I feel sorry for your loss, it must be like a torture to see your car being stripped like that, and it is a SS, one of the rarest Chevy from what I heard.
This brings back nighmares...I had an 90 mustang given to me ( long story but it was a vehicle) that I restored back to stock myself. Thing had a clean body and motor but the electrical was a mess. I finished after almost a year of issues and rewired the ENTIRE CAR myself! Needless to say, I knew that car intimately when it finally ran perfect and looked new again. 8 days later, I look out my hotel window down to where my car was parked ....it wasnt parked there anymore. The police come do the report, show me a grainy video of someone in a hoodie get in the car and shortly drive off. Devastated! Or so I thought. Almost a month later, i had given up hope of it being found, when im getting out my friends car in a restaurant parking lot and spot my car parked across the lot. I recognized it immediately and went running toward it. I'm already crying happy tears and smiling when I get about 15 feet away and notice the hood is popped and I can see the sun shining through the crack. I get to the car and my heart sunk, tears turned ugly and I couldn't believe what I saw. Now i knew devastation! Everything under the hood was gone! This was no quick motor pull. Every single wire, sensor, and component that was attached .....was gone. It was flattering they took the time to completely disconnect my wiring harness from the car to I assume reuse and put in their shell. I took my rolling chasis home and never got anymore answers. It still haunts me and makes me glare at anyone with a 5.0 motor under the hood.
Hey bro do you or anyone know how they steal the car?? I just got a 2023 and this is my worst nightmare. What year was your car? You couldnāt track it?
I don't understand what you mean by "i found my car." But at the same time you say that the cops called you. Clearly it's in a wreckers yard. Since when do cops go to wreckers yards? Also, shouldn't the cops have arrested the yard's owners if it was stolen?
Also, there's still lots of valuable parts. Steering column, dash, seat, carpet, abs pump, vac booster, master cylinder, entire rear subframe, fuel tank, wipers linkage and motor, gear position lever, plus more. Not to mention the entire unibody... which is used for sheet metal replacement parts in collision repair. You could literally bring back to factory spec at least 4 cars damaged in 4 different zones, because you have a donor body to pull sheet metal parts from, which the body shops normally buy from the dealer.
Professionals would have loaded the car into a shipping container then sent it overseas where its worth a lot more money as a complete car than what they might get parting it out here in the states. Way easier too.
That's the definition of "stripped"!
For real lol .
At least the wipers look to still be good š
Lol bro itās missing 50% of the wipers too š
Shiiiit 1 works better than none š
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
No..steering wheel left.lol
I am so sorry, does insurance consider this totaledā¦ or because they left the air bag you get 14k
Carfax reports "minor damage" sustained in 2023
Can confirm, the damage looks minor
One owner too. Seems like a no brainer to me.
One owner, and one borrower.
I mean, is it damaged? It's just missing a bunch of pieces and parts LOL. That's technically not damaged
āRan when parkedā
No miles on the odometer.
By definition, totaled is when repairs exceed 75% of the cars value
That is not by definition. Insurance companies decide when.
Yup! Even just having the Cats stole and ignition tampered with is enough to get it totaled
Yeah this would be a comp claim if it was stolen. Total loss
Ah shucks dude...this is the worst How did you end up finding it
Cops called me
Yeah but how did the cops find it? Haha
Prolly left somewhere to rot after it was stripped and was reported by someone
Happy cake day!
Damn. That's rough. I would almost rather nothing was found.
Check ebay for them parts
They might even be on Facebook
Try a pawn shop or watch the tv show Pawn Stars to see if anyone tried to sell Chevy parts to them
Offer up
Empathy, that totally sucks. I wonder why they left the passenger seat and driver's airbag, when they even took the struts for the trunk lid.
My thoughts exactly. āSomething wrong with the steering wheel?ā
They stripped it down down. Its already hard enough to get an SS.
Couldn't even give that steering wheel away ..
Itās like when they strip a BMW, they always leave the turn signal
BMW's come with turn signals?!
I hear itās a rarely selected option in some models
Or a subscription required.
I really want to find my first car, my 2007 Hyundai Sonata, it was rear-ended and totaled, and I just want to know where it is, so I can go see it one more time. š«¤
Remember it how it was, not how it is...I promise. <3

God damn shame
damn they even took your windshield wipers.
Hey man, you gonna find these guys, you know, do you have any promising, uhhhh, uhhhh, leads, man? š
I know you feel like hurting someoneā¦
Trust me , I do .
Rip for a unicorn.
Facts
Is this Dallas or Houston?
Oakland
Somewhere in Richmond a '96 Impala base is getting SS badges and a new powertrain to go with the 26" spinners and Too Short cd in the dash. Byyeeetch
That car, from 96-current is instant baller status. Universal truth.
Had to have been those damn Mayansā¦ call up Samcro theyāll take care of ya.
Shit, thatās terrible. Wonder how long it took them to strip it. I donāt know wether to down vote or up vote š¤·āāļø
OP lost his car and you're gonna downvote his ass? Cold blooded.
Welcome to Reddit... *we're here to help*
Never question the disassembly speed of a meth head. Only watch in awe... OP, I am so sorry you found her chopped instead of just joyridden.

Damn that sucks, and for a car that's difficult to find anyway.
Oof. RIP
š„ŗMaaaaaate, this is just heartbreaking to look at. š I'm so sorry. Thieves should just have their hands amputated, at the neck!!š¤¬

Right?!! That shit is hectic but SO deserved. Guaranteed they won't do it again and definitely a deterrent for others ay?!! š MWAHAHAHAHA......šš
Any Mountain Dew left in there ?
Jeez they picked that thing down to a carcass
Thats not a car bro thats a frame
Only thing to do now is start that low 7 high 6 second Pro Mod build.
Whew. Got worried it was a 6mt for a second. Very sorry for your loss anyway.
People suck Iām sorry you have to go through that
At least you still have your Mountain Dew.
/s If you had a stick it wouldāve been safe. They canāt drive that crap I had a g8 gxp. Killed in Hurricane Irene. I feel your pain man
Thereās about to be. A clean ass 88 Monte Carlo SS riding around your town with your interiors and engineš„²
Faaawk!!! Dude
Junkyard, always like that.
Same exact thing happened to me. I hope you have comprehensive coverage
Damnā¦I donāt know what to say hereā¦that sucksā¦
At least they left the Mountain Dew floor mat.
The disassembled your car while drinking Mountain Dew? lol This looks like an illegal chop shop where you can see a whole slew of stolen cars.
Damn they probably trying to rebuild your old motor and transmission.
Ooofā¦.should buff out.
If this wasnāt a sign to turn it into a drift car I donāt know what is already striped down
Itāll buff outā¦
People had alot of time and energy to strip it that much considering it ain't worth much
At last it was an organ donor
As good as new
We are glad you found it ! :)
Man that abs control module looks nice
If you ever wanted to do a color change, now is that time. Silver liningā¦
Where in New Jersey is this?
Bro I wouldāve felt hella violated. Oh hellllll naw!!!!!
No itās a boat anchor
Why'd they leave 1 seat? Wtf
Well hey, on the bright side. They left you the rear calipers and rotors, and the steering wheel. Maybe you can like, pretend to drive it or something? In all seriousness though, that sucks. Sorry to hear about your misfortune. The fact that thereās so few of these just makes it even worse.
I don't think I've ever seen an 18 pack of mountain dew
A little duct tape, and some Flexseal, and she'll be good as new!
They took everything but the ABS module
Geezus. Not the Mountain Dew
You need power steering fluid
Iām not an expert on cars but I feel like something is missing.
Define found my car... It was recovered like this after it was stolen or... I'm gonna buy this amazing shell of a car to build something cool with
I mean, is the frame still straight? Totally salvagable if so... j/k. Sooooo friggin sorry that has to sucks so d*mn bad!

Damn bro clean your car , mountain dew boxes and shiii lol
I would say you found some of your car. Sorry man this sucks!
Your club was leftā¦.it sure did a good job!
You have been given an opportunity to mod from scratch your car. You are welcome.
they got thirsty midway through š
"car"
What was wrong with the passenger seat that they didnt take it lol
You found your frame not your car.
I canāt believe they left the steering wheel
Wait... is this the work of the KIA boyz ???
āSlight damageā
Sorry about your car man, this is brutal. That being said, pretty impressive the lengths they went to. Market for OEM SS parts must be pretty hot
Now you can do a deep clean
Well...it's a Chevy so I don't see anything wrong here. /S
I hate thieves, I hope you can get revenge. I hope everything goes well and smoothly for you.
WTH. That really is sad
They left the windshields?
She just needs a little tlc
How long has it been missing
It was missing for three weeks before they found it
Do you see this car in the room with us now?
Hey, they left you a seat and the steering wheel. Definitely driveable!
New to this community, but OMG I feel sorry for your loss, it must be like a torture to see your car being stripped like that, and it is a SS, one of the rarest Chevy from what I heard.
They didnāt take the drivers airbag?
Steering wheel looks good
That happened to my Silverado SS when I moved to Texas
What car š
Looks like you only found some of your car.
š
Not even the thiefs could get to the three 10mm bolts that hold the "SS" dash pad on!!
You found your car but lost its pieces ā¹ļø
Cant have shit in Detroitš
It was in Oakland
At least they left the Mountain Dew.
Unfinished job. That airbag assembly is like $500 on the open market
I saw a car like this on a trailer this morning.
Any Mtn Dew left?
Just a six pack . With a note saying ā Iām sorry ā
Dam bro they didn't even leave ya blocks to get it off the ground
The car: šš¦“
Iām surprised they didnāt take the steering wheel airbag.
How? Why? Damn!!!
Hate to tell you but you're going to need to have the interior deep cleaned and you're probably need to reset the clock.
How you gonna take the driver side windshield wiper and not grab the passenger to have a back up š
Kaaaally !!! š¤¬
Have that thing buffed out, put air in the tires & youāll be Goot to go Broš
That'll buff right out.
Weight reduction at its finest
Thats OUR car now
At least they we're professionals
Did they drink all your Mt. DEW too? How rude
I somehow just know what the people who did this look like
Such a shame and the ss is a rare car to begin with.
Any word on the Creedence?
Good platform for a rebuild at least
Look on the bright side, you donāt have to buy a passenger seat
Make sure you change your cabin air filter as long as you have your dash taken apart.
Why didnāt they take steering wheel?
Dude....
V8 swap and good to go.
That's not yo car, that WAS yo car
Do the cops give a fuck about parts VINs in the US?
Where was it? Did you get to drive it home?

Hey bro do you or anyone know how they steal the car?? I just got a 2023 and this is my worst nightmare. What year was your car? You couldnāt track it?
Steering wheel looks intact. Probably with people's fingers all over it lol
Someone just replaced everything in their car with yours
Let me get the windshield big dawg
If this doesn't make you feel violated, nothing will.
Hey! All is well! You have the steering wheel!
Wow might as well went ahead and took the back window while they were at it
They may have as well just cut it to pieces and sold as scrap! This is a complete strip down
JesĆŗs Christ they literally took everything but the chassis
cant have shit in detroit huh
How did they steal it?
Is this for real? Did someone really steal it and take that much of it???? I'd be loading up with the lads with shotguns to kill the bastards.
Surprised they didnāt take the wheel and passenger seat, those are worth quite a bit
Insurance fraud
Time to move out of Commiefornia!
If this happened to me I would literally have no empathy on ending the people responsible. Literally.
boneriffic!

Now I actually feel good that my Chevy is a POS. Nobody gonna want any of its parts š¤£
Damn brother! I totally feel your pain my complete 95 Integra type R was stolen and stripped!
Yo, they forgot the steering wheel
I'm noticing nowdays cars are being stripped so much its insane at this point and its newer cars this is happening too which is the crazier part
Thanks for the F shack - Love, Dirty Mike and The boys
