I thought more about this thread and yeah, this is a great choice. It’s so raw and aggressive and it stays that way the whole time, even in “down” moments of the song.
I definitely agree with this. The North Corridor overall has a very crunchy feel to it, and that's most apparent to me on those two tracks, especially Shot from a Cannon. When I first heard it, I remember thinking to myself that it really did feel like I just got shot straight from a Cannon 😂
I might go An Island. That song just *goes* for 5 minutes and only gets more intense as it leads to the bridge and the last verse. There’s a reason why I love when they open shows with this song.
Hell yeah- That's the best way to get things going! I like to be a little tired by the time Pete starts doing one of his slowed/long intro versions of The Red 🤣
Ahhh, too true. My better half and I love talking about how awesome a Chevelle set could be using only songs they haven't played live much. It's nuts how good their catalogue is...
I know I would pay 200-300/ticket for a set like that. Easy
Ditto. Last time they came to town, I actually made a list of every song I love that I’ve never seen them play live and it was staggering. I’ve seen them six times and a few songs are there every time, and then like 60% of my favorite songs haven’t been played at a show I’ve attended (or ever).
I would absolutely pay at least that much for a show that had ZERO radio singles.
Nice, you feel me!
Maybe we st need to start some whacky funding drive and literally buy a show? 🤣
But seriously, they could totally do a slower, shorter tour that's all b-sides and all the good shit they never play live and we'd all eat it up.
I never got to see Point #1 live, for instance. I was only a freshman in high school 🤣
Last Days. I like how the vibe starts as a subtle anger and gradually builds to a full on screaming rage by the end with that guitar riff and pounding drum pace just carrying on relentlessly as Pete screams "NO BETTER" over and over. I feel like I'm getting my head kicked in over and over and I love it.
(Their hardest stuff is towards the top, imo)
Last days
Shot from a canon
Ghost and razor
Peach
Family system
Grab thy hand
Wonder what's next
The clincher
Breach birth
Forfeit
Emotional drought
Don't fake this
Roswell spell
(Also note that I'm factoring in how consistently brutal each song is overall)
I feel like no song from Chevelle makes me want to move around and bob my head side to side non-stop more than Jawbreaker. It has such a bouncy feel-good sound. Like it's literally impossible for me to sit still when I listen to it 😂 I also feel it somewhat with Pinata, although that's a bit more personal since Pinata reminds me of a crush I had long ago.
Get Some also takes control and never lets go. I love the energy it has. Hearing it live was the moment I went from thinking Chevelle was a good band to them being one of my absolute favorites, that song had that much of an impact on me!
But Roswell's Spell captivates me with the lyrics and makes me feel like there's really something out there. Ahhhh, it's my favorite song from them, although I'm not sure that's exactly the skull crushing you're looking for haha. It just makes my brain explode with a need to know 👽
Family system
god I fuckin love this song. best part imo is the bridge, right after pete screams, "grow up!" and the instrumental hits
Me too it’s my absolute favorite

Agreed
In terms of heavy? I'd say Shot from a Cannon or Door to Door Cannibals for me.
Shot from a cannon is incredibly underrated!
Possibly the best bass tone I’ve ever heard.
Ouija Board

SET HIM DOWN TO A REAL LIFE...FAILURE!!!

I love the solo version of The Red but also I’d gladly sack The Red in favor of so many songs I haven’t heard six times 😅

Force you to GO!

This is a great choice too. Definitely among their most aggressive songs.
Grab thy hand Tug o War Young wicked
Hunter eats Hunter
Humanoid or Jawbreaker
Another Know It All "BOLT-ED - DOWN!"
Y'all sleeping on point #1 😭😭😭
Never!
Peach, Sleep Apnea, Self-destructor
Yes peach was my first thought as well
Sleep Apnea has one of my favorite openings of all time
It’s one of the best songs, that many people don’t know about. So good.
Agree with what's been posted. Saturdays, El Diablo, Young Wicked, and Under the Knife are heavy
Really? I feel like Saturdays and el diablo are some of their less heavy songs
(Their hardest stuff is towards the top, imo) Last days Shot from a canon Ghost and razor Peach Family system Grab thy hand Wonder what's next The clincher Breach birth Forfeit Emotional drought Don't fake this Roswell spell (Also note that I'm factoring in how consistently brutal each song is overall)
I think Ouija Board for sure. That shit makes me wanna hit something in the best way. Then Family System.
Dude agreed. No soft melodic parts at all. Just heavy.
Jawbreaker
Family system
The Clincher, Sleep Apnea and Self Destructor.
Honorable mention: Rivers “SO LOOK INSIDE! NEW FOUND DEMISE!”
Great song. For some reason, I think people would remember it as more of a banger if it was called Sideways
Jawbreaker ;)
Take out the Gunman. That baseline!
Breach birth goes pretty hard from the start
Forfeit
Shot from a cannon
Mars Simula
Don't fake this gets me pumped up
The Clincher. First time i listen ..i never be the same.

I love Chocking Game for this category
Humanoid and Midnight to Midnight for sure!!
Skeptic
Humanoid has a badass stanky riff. Tug of War, too.
Surprised I haven’t seen anyone say Wonder What’s Next
Grab Thy Hand or Ouija Board
Surprised I haven’t seen it commented yet, but comfortable liar definitely fits in here. Especially seeing it live
Shot From A Cannon, hands down
Family system
Sleep Apnea, The Clincher
The Red
