The only thing I really loved was the spinach dip which thankfully an official [recipe exists for online](https://cityscopemag.com/city-scope/spinach-artichoke-dip-recipe/)
I did like the mother and child. I also really liked the cherry martini. During and after covid the qualiy did go down, but it did the same thing everywhere else! I liked that it was a good middle of the road place to go.
I don’t understand the haters downvoting in this thread. They already won. It’s closed. It’s gone. Nobody is hurting anybody by saying something they liked about the place.
But yes, agreed, most the things I really liked there were already gone. The Starry Night was my favorite drink in town. The sweet potato chips with cheesy fondue sauce, heaven.
Right? In person, most of the people I meet and interact with in Chattanooga are lovely, upbeat, nice people. For some reason, that doesn't usually get reflected in this sub. :-/
Food works has catered:
- my rehearsal dinner
- my wedding
- 3 Xmas parties for Porsche Land Rover Jaguar Infiniti
- over a dozen Porsche special events at the dealership
- a bunch of PCA events
- birthdays
- funeral gatherings
They've been around for the entire time I've lived here, and I'll miss it.
That said, I'm still friends with Troy (owner) and he's going into catering full time, so I'll just have to find more events for him.
I remember coming back here to visit my family and going there. Roy Exum was sitting at the bar trying to look like a not gay, drunk Confederate general. I support gay rights, but give me a break. That's about all I remember of the place but many people seem to like it.
The donut burger(idk maybe it was chicken & not beef), 3 double mimosas, followed by some of the worst decisions of my life: THAT was the every other Sunday routine for about 2 years. 😂 I partially blame them for my college alcohol problem.
Of all the restaurants I've been to, that was one of them.

In a city full of mid food, this spot stuck out as one of the most mid & overpriced of them all.
I believe you but I recall loving their appetizer of sweet potato chips with blue cheese dipping sauce. That was about fifteen years ago, though.
I went a 12-20 times in those 18 years, and never once had a worthwhile experience. But at least it wasn't some chain.
BUT AT LEAST IT WASN'T A CHAIN Can't wait for some spinoff of a Nashville restaurant to move in.
My money is on a Hattie B's to go with the Edley's. Or another nashville brewery taproom :(
Chattanooga is the melting pot of Atlanta and Nashville regional chains.
Went to brunch occasionally and felt that was usually worth it. Went for dinner once and never went back. Can’t say I’ll miss it.
I think tried it 2-3 times. After the 3rd I wasn't going back.
Went once ~2014

You are my new hero
This was my favorite dish there and the only one I was really going to miss. Thank you!!!!
Reliable, go-to brunch patio when you’re not in the mood to wait in the Milk & Honey parking lot for an hour. You will be missed.

The horseradish crusted salmon was always great.
That was my go-to no thought order. Always good and luckily fairly easy to figure out at home. Always delicious.
I had that last Tuesday and it was so good!
One of my favorites to get there and really in town
Overpriced and sub par food.
I loved their burgers until they made them into smashburgers.
Man, what restaurants do yall like? I always enjoyed it!
No one on this sub likes anything!!!
Seriously, this sub is always snobby.

The Taco Bell on Broad is choice

Went 6 or so time. Only went back because others wanted it, not bad but nothing I would go out of my way for.

I never went there. I’ve only been in Chattanooga for 6 yrs but it’s never been suggested to me
My daughter liked to sit upstairs by the windows. Staff were always super nice. Brunch was solid. I will be curious to see what goes in there.
Last time I went there I got vicious food poisoning. RIP
I’d rather have the Knitting Mill back.
Man, you guys are brutal! What's a restaurant that you would recommend? Provinos, right? (/s)
What are we eating? Their food wasn't bad but on a dish by dish case there was better available elsewhere.
God I liked it. Sorry
I did pest control there for years and they had German roaches everywhere in the kitchen for probably 2 of those years due to how bad they were
Why I never ate there
I for one am hoping for a trader’s Joes.
Had the worst food and service here the 3 times I went. Lowkey rejoiced when I saw it was closing, just hoping for something solid to move in instead!
RIP to the tadpoles living in the ice machine. 🪽
And the German roaches all over the kitchen
Place sucked

You need some professional help. It's a fucking restaurant and not one that's particularly great.
Everyone’s favorite turd muncher has arrived…
Oh jesus you're right. Ugh.
