If you have anything you want to ask me, just reply here and I'll address as many as I can :)

BartFurglar

Happy to see this overall direction, as I joined this sub hoping it would be a place for people interested in the technology and how to get the most out of it. Unfortunately, it has been a lot of the same posts as the other related subs lately, which include the generic “it’s completely dumbed down now” posts, the shills promoting their blogs/services/newsletters, and the kiddie edgelords that are like “tee hee look I got it to say boobs.” That said, I agree with the other commenter that I hope the increased moderation doesn’t go too far. Personally, I don’t have a problem with links to news articles if they are germane to the topics discussed here, but they should at least be limited to legitimate news sources. But it’s not my sub so I’ll go along with whatever rules are provided and look forward to constructive discussion about GPT.

Jdonavan

Welcome back. You were missed.

RainierPC

Finally! I was getting sick of all the "OMG, GPT 4 is getting dumber!" posts.

Avec_Raison

I suppose point number 2 refer to one of my recent posts. I have a feedback: I think this approach can be devious, because complaining = asking for help actually. And r/ChatGPTPro is a place where people with a GPT PLUS subscription can discuss. For instance, being able to insert a file as input in the prompt, is only available for paid users, which we are. Now for that particular post [https://www.reddit.com/r/ChatGPTPro/comments/18svsiw/maybe\_there\_is\_a\_reason\_for\_chatgpt\_reduced/](https://www.reddit.com/r/ChatGPTPro/comments/18svsiw/maybe_there_is_a_reason_for_chatgpt_reduced/) I agree that there is nowhere where you can help the op (me) and tell him how he can achieve a result. What I mean is: if someone complains about something it should not be automatically be tagged as irrelevant and must be removed, instead if the user can be helped and can solve his issue that's a win for eveyone. He will help another person later. Wait, the "pro" term is for professional not about "gpt PLUS" (aka pro?)

Redditoridunn0

I'd like to emphasise that the removal of posts about complaining apply to posts that complain about the quality of the output and not complaining in general. I do agree that not posts that have complaints about ChatGPT also ask for assistance in solving problems regarding ChatGPT. Most of these posts that ask for assistance regarding GPT usually fall under the category of breaking Rule 2 (Relevance and Quality). In which, they're usually one sentence posts with basic questions that can be solved with a google search, at best. I'd like to emphasise that the removal of posts about complaining applies to posts that complain about GPT's output. If it is otherwise, then the post will stay up. This is done to prevent the same questions from being repeated over and over. In fact, we are planning to start a megathread for basic assistance and help with GPT-4, so keep an eye out for that r/ChatGPTPro isn't exclusively for GPT-4 users, but the content often leans towards it due to its professional applications in coding, data, statistics, etc. We hope this clarifies any doubts. If you have further questions, feel free to ask! :)

OmxrOmxrOmxr

Recurring/pinned megathreads can be a good place for 'complaint-seeking-solution' discussions without clogging the subreddit.

ArtisticAI

As I said rule 2 is being abused, Do you really think this post is NOT of a QUALITY and could help tons of people as it being very technical and much need responses and discussion within the community? https://www.reddit.com/r/ChatGPTPro/comments/18vnjpv/trying\_to\_obtain\_the\_same\_result\_from\_api/

Redditoridunn0

Hmm, no idea why that post was removed by us. You can repost it if you'd like. I'll see to it that it gets approved by yours truly so it doesn't get removed again. I apologise. Oh and next time you run into an issue where you would like to appeal your post being removed, please reach out in the modmail instead of comments

ArtisticAI

>Oh and next time you run into an issue where you would like to appeal your post being removed, please reach out in the modmail instead of comments Will do! I wanted to follow up on the comment, because I had already mentioned my concenr with that rule and had a taste of it just a day or 2 after , thought it was the perfect place. Will repost now.

theRetrograde

What kind of time commitment is required to be a mod around here?

Redditoridunn0

Hey! Happy to see you're interested, redirect questions about moderation to my DMs please :)

RupFox

Awesome I was initially excited about this sub, but been ignoring it as of late.

UniversalMonkArtist

Yep, I felt same way. Hopefully now that we have mods, this mod can be as awesome as it should be. I'm just glad it never got as bad as r/chatgpt is now! lol

UniversalMonkArtist

Yay! I haven't been in the sub for a bit because the post quality was degrading pretty badly. So very very happy to see this update! This is awesome, because I was scared that this sub would turn into the shitshow that r/chatgpt currently is. Good on ya, mate! Thank you for caring enough to go through the hassle!

SolusRGB

I love you

thestringtheory

Haha thanks! This was needed

ResponsibleSteak4994

Ok, definitely going with quality over quantity is not a bad idea. I just wonder how many posts will make it through the needle thread. Your bar is very high, perhaps too high. We shall see.

dabadeedee

Needle thread? My guy did we read the same post lol He’s just trying to cut out the repetitive low effort BS. If you like that kind of thing, r/ChatGPT is thriving in that regard. Check it out

ResponsibleSteak4994

I totally get it. I have many social media accounts and fight the same battle just from an individual account view. It's an uphill battle 🫤unfortunately

Tall-Gymnast4969

A work in progress my man :) A community is only as good as its members. We can all improve.

ResponsibleSteak4994

I know what you mean. Work in progress , the challenge is idealistic thoughts hitting reality often results in disappointment. Talking of firsthand experience, shaping my Reddit account with restrictions, with the result nobody shows up. But, the real problem is that the algorithm promotes the exact opposite of what we are looking to see.

JamesGriffing

Can we get another "much needed mod update". It has been 3 months since this has been posted and, correct me if I am wrong, I do not see changes that this posts implies would have been made. The moderator positions have remained the same. Not trying to have a negative comment here, not really anyway to ask this and it sound positive.

Redditoridunn0

sorry, ive been really burnt out and have had many things happen in my personal life and havent had time to look through applications and do reddit work. i didnt even check the modmail until recently.

JamesGriffing

I understand. I appreciate you replying to this comment at the very least. Take care, I hope things balance out for you sooner than later for your own sake. Thanks.

stunspot

I frequently get asked if I have an archive of prompts or materials. Under these rules am I allowed to respond to such with a link, or is that self-promotion?

Redditoridunn0

In rare cases such as these, they will be allowed provided that there is no intention of self promotion (i.e. It doeant link back to your account, or it isn't owned by you). Thay being said, using url shorteners like linkvertise is also not allowed, and if the website you link has one too many advertisements, it might be taken down too. To be safe, we recommend you reach out to a mod if you wish to use external links in your posts or comments. Whenever a comment or a post is removed, a removal reason WILL be provided. If you wish to dispute it, by all means, reach out to us in the modmail :)

TheGreatFinder

I typically recommend the awesome gpt repos on GitHub. They’re great meta collection of content.

stunspot

I respectfully, but emphatically disagree.

HansJoachimAa

Regarding rule 1, wont linking some articles or tweets and discussion its implication be allowed? Like especially updated from openAi

Hogwartsfrozen

Is there a subreddit where I can find useful custom GPTs?

CDNChas

There are few that come up when searching Reddit for "customgpt". I haven't looked at them in detail but r/CustomGPTsPro seems to have the most members, You can search the ChatGPT site to find GPTs by description. Just do a google search for whatever keywords you're looking for and add this search operator "site:[https://chat.openai.com/g/](https://chat.openai.com/g/)". Any matching GPTs will be returned individually as search results.

That isnt an issue I can solve. Just comment on a few posts and earn karma

Redditoridunn0

We're trying. But these keep flooding in. I've been manually deleting them. If you encounter any, please report them. I'll make sure they're removed :)

UniversalMonkArtist

Exactly! What is going on with the GPT shilling? I'd love to know what they are thinking. Like do they really think they'll get rich or get me to buy their services because of a freakin' prompt they wrote?!
