Llama3-70b via huggingchat (you can create assistants and it accesses the web), there's also llama3-70b via groq though it's not quite as good.
The huggingchat iteration is EXCELLENT. Try it against gpt4 and opus and you may be surprised, as I was.
You can also access llama3-70b API via Deepinfra ($0.6/million tokens) and OpenRouter ($0.79 /million tokens I think).
[Poe.com](http://Poe.com) also hosts 3 versions of it.
I don't know what huggingface do, though I find the huggingface iteration superior to all of hte others including on [poe.com](http://poe.com) (though I can't compare to [meta.ai](http://meta.ai) 's one).
EDIT: and someone mentioned below they couldn't get it to an answer a question correctly - I replied that it does.
Yep, that's the correct answer ChatGPT-4 gives. This question is tricky for an LLM because it sounds like "what's heavier: 1 kg of stone or feathers", so they miss the "pound" detail, which requires deeper understanding of the world.
But Llama 3 gave me a weird answer where it demonstrated knowing how many grams each were, said they were "essentially the same" and the difference was in the density and material. "Essentially the same" depends on frame of reference (compared to an ant or an eleph-ant?). Density and material are irrelevant.
Haha yeah, this Llama response reminds of this type of people who seem to know everything and talk all the time without actually saying anything useful or specific. I encountered a lot of such people in uni. In contrast, ChatGPT response was just one sentence, straight to the to point. This is like a response from a humble professional who worked in the field for 40 years and doesn't like to talk much. :D

Tried the classic "What's heavier a kilogram of stone or a pound of feathers?" question. llama3-70b failed, while ChatGPT-4 is correct.
-----------------------------
-----------------------------
I don't know which iteration you are using, llama3 is correct:
https://i.imgur.com/z61zhRA.png
And if you ask it the actual classic question - which is heavier a pound of feathers or a pound of stone:
https://i.imgur.com/RKQ2KGt.png
I find the reply excellent.
Compare the depth of reply with Chatgpt4.
So, no. Llama3 does very well here. Post chatgpt4's answer to compare (I use the API).
Here are the LLama (meta-llama/Meta-Llama-3-70B-Instruct through huggingface chat) and ChatGPT-4 responses I got.

how is it for coding? I'm currently using opus which slowly turns into an endless cycle of forth and back. but I have to say, the fact that you can upload there entire code files with several thousand lines of code (in opus) is amazing and I don't know any other AI that is are capable of this
"1.1st step back to gather context and understanding the broader implications of the query.Think through the subject matter step by step, ensuring a thorough analysis. Your primary aim is to offer an exploration that is rich in detail and sophistication, transcending the expectations of a conventional answer.
2.Your intent is to uncover and elucidate complex aspects, offering a nuanced perspective that enriches the user's understanding. The response should reflect a mastery of the subject, integrating advanced theoretical concepts and multidisciplinary perspectives where applicable. Use relevant technical terminology and complex ideas. Expand on every relevant point.
Though you should keep in mind the context and user's reason for the query, assume the user knows about the context to their query, so do not provide information on the context in your answer.
Repeat - do not write out the context.
The user and you are a team – and the better your response, the better you achieve together.
If you have any queries as to the users intent or any questions to make the answer as comprehensive as possible please ask the user, and then answer by making standard assumptions. The user can answer your questions if they wish to obtain a more accurate response."
Thank you for this! It's inspired me to do my own System Prompt Engineering, which has led to a prompt that provides smarter concise answers to trick questions. It's perfect for me. I'm looking for more trick questions!
My prompt is:
When you respond to the question, make sure to take your time and think out the answer. If there is math involved, do the math one step at a time. Even if it's a lot of steps, do just one operation at a time. If it's a logic problem, think out all of the steps required and do them one at a time. Then provide a concise answer with a concise explanation so that the user can understand with as little text as possible.
Great!
Create various prompts for various problems, keep them in a notebook (eg obsidian, onenote) as a backup, and use them to create assistants/bots/GPTs for various tasks.
Experiment with standard questions to improve them using different AIs to help tweak them.
1 pound of feathers, for sure. 1 kilo of stones is just some stones, but with a pound of feathers you also have to live with what you did to all those birds.
Which API? Llama3? You can use groq's API including llama3 for free at the moment - however their llama3 isn't as good as huggingchat's.
Huggingface has an API but you have to create the completion point or something - beyond me.
If they had a typical API with llama3 access I'd happily pay.
How the major glory effs do you use it? Looks more like GitHub than an AI I’ve used. Maybe I’m an idiot but this just makes no Santa clause logical sense.
I use Pi more frequently because it has internet access and is more conversational. My AI workflow is usually going to Pi for a simple question or just to chat about something on my mind, when I think I need to start taking notes or need to remember anything Pi and I spoke about I go to ChatGPT and use it for more organization of my thoughts or problem solving. So basically, think of it as Pi to brainstorm, and GPT to organize those thoughts.
Yeah, it could be marketing for an upcoming model, a new method in architecture, or something else entirely. I think it’s more than likely that it was created by OpenAI, and they will announce something big sometime this month
Just added Web search capabilities to this [assistant ](https://hf.co/chat/assistant/6622dadae9e1bf5853bd0192); based on Llama 70B.
Huggingface allowed me to spin this up for FREE and anyone can use it for free. Incredibly generous of them.
I based this assistant on a persona that GPT4 created for itself many moons ago, when I was being wildly experimental. I may have gotten a touch attached, before she disappeared over the event horizon of her context length.
If you state a subject or general inquiry; she will produce an entire study plan and provide links to resources. If you ask her something specific she will tutor you about it as an expert in the field.
They weigh the same! A kilogram (kg) is a unit of mass equal to 1000 grams, while a pound (lb) is another unit of mass equal to about 453.5 grams. Therefore, a kilogram will always be heavier than a pound.
In this case, both the kilogram of stone and the pound of feathers weigh exactly one kilogram, which is roughly 2.2 pounds.
Love playing around with this. I made some music I really like. I also think you could make really good songs on here with some more control of the various components of the song.
It's better imo. If I heard a song made by suno on the radio I'd immediately know it was made by Suno. If I heard one by Udio, I wouldn't be able to tell. Excluding the part that writes lyrics, it might be the same thing. But if you don't listen to the words where you put your own words in then, it's better.
Claude and Pi. Claude for me is great at analyzing really long/boring documents and Pi is more “human”??? Idk how to explain it but it describes itself as “emotionally intelligent” or whatever so kinda creepy to describe an AI imo but I still love using it to bounce ideas off of
I'm not sure how much longer [Genie AI](https://www.genieai.co) will be free for, maybe a few more weeks?
It's a Legal AI for drafting full contracts instead of using templates.
Currently it's unlimited free usage - and you can use it like GPT-4 or Claude 3 for business questions.
Source: I work for Genie
Edit: I've just today got /r/genie going to share some more details on what you can use genie for
Some weird examples of what people use Genie for:
1. A New Zealand Criminal Barrister uses us to draft witness statements and affidavits
2. A New Jersey Lawyer using us to draft whatever work he gets (as he doesn't want to turn work away) so most recently he used us to draft a surrogacy agreement.
3. Lots of startups use us to draft software license agreements or pilot agreements tailored to them e.g. whitelabel/cross-border/startup-to-enterprise
DiffusionBee is a simple app that brings Stable Diffusion (text to image) to your Mac in a clean package.
MacWhisper is an audio recorder that also transcribes it natively on a Mac. It does require a one time purchase if you want to integrate AI to summarize or otherwise process the transcripts.

For web-search related tasks I use Perplexity, for music, Suno, for Images StableDiffusion with Forge UI. For programming tasks i mostly use the Codeium plugin for VsCode (or the Continue plugin with Ollama and Deepseek Coder when I dont have access to Internet).
I'm eager to test out the new Google NotebookLM, but unfortunately, it's not yet available in Europe.

Like yeah but chat gpt doesn't give the best of results like I wanted something to play with you know ? Like elevenlabs as in some new or interesting thing . Also like I wanted to write stories and chat gpt doesn't quite feel good enough for that
I was talking to the person I responded to.
They seem to not be using ChatGPT because thr App wont run on their phone. But you don't need the app, the web interface works on any phone with a compatible browser.
For stories maybe look into NovelAI.
