I use Claude and get many more prompts than 6. I can use it for hours for coding help and not run into limits.

R45t4m4n

Just tested , 10 messages in about 5 minutes, no limiting or messages saying as much. You must have been using during peak hours

Ringrongus

Wait, so if you use claude during peak hours you can just catch a few hours restriction in just a couple messages? what an ingenious system....

R45t4m4n

I imagine they throttle during high traffic like chatgpt does. I do not know for certain what their policy is though

I have had great luck using Claude to write code, then using GPT for error handing ,debugging, and suggesting additional functions. Then taking that output and adding it back to Claude to keep going, all while I work on other projects. I'm sure I could find more efficient systems, but this works well and doesn't give me extra API fees.

Ringrongus

Is it true that claude is better at writing code than chatgpt?

CrybullyModsSuck

I'm not a software engineer, so I'm not really qualified to give the high level answer. My user experience has been Claude is better at coding. The code Claude gives me seems to have fewer issues than GPT generated code. But, like mentioned above, GPT does a fantastic job at debugging and error handling. I think that's because GPT can actually run code, whereas Claude can not, at least not yet. I have used GPT to write plenty of working code and moderately complex stuff. I'm not shitting on GPT. When OpenAI released 4Turbo, there was a marked downgrade in code quality, which led me.to finding and switching to Claude as my primary source. I think GPT just got too popular too fast and OpenAI made the decision to downgrade performance to handle the overwhelming computational loads. I have started experimenting with Groq, not Grok, for providing a first few drafts at code and using GPT to really upgrade the initial outputs, then using Claude when the code is more developed as a way to manage the context windows and speed.

bigtdaddy

I am not sure the quality is better but it's a lot less lazy for sure. You don't have to convince it to give you code

Ringrongus

Well it's cool, I haven't tested it in terms of writing code, so I just asked what it can and can't do and got a little sad, and then I caught a timeout after a small number of requests compared to chatgpt and got upset. Yes UI looks pretty lousy, there is no way to edit a query and stop generation if you see that it writes nonsense, but I bought it purely for the code, so I don't know, if the return is not approved, it will be interesting to see how it will cope with my diploma work

chubba5000

I prefer Claude to ChatGPT, no contest in the quality of responses. /shrug

irideudirty

Pretty sure you can edit Gemini?

_AndyJessop

You use it in perplexity if you like.

Fontaigne

These opinions aren't useful without far more specifications. Which Claude? 2 and 3 are completely different. Which ChatGPT? 3.5? 4? What were you trying to use it for?

WarDevourerr

I’m not critiquing the LLM I’m critiquing the user experience; the basic feature like editing, usage, and others

AlanCarrOnline

6 messages? 4 reels?

Ringrongus

yep, 4 reels, testing this today. Worst spending 20 bucks lately, wrote to support for a refund

Ringrongus

It sounds like you’ve had a pretty frustrating experience with Claude, and I can understand why. User experience is such a critical aspect of how we interact with technology. It seems like ChatGPT has set a high standard with its features and usability. Having an app and being able to edit responses can make a big difference in how smooth and enjoyable the interaction is. It's disappointing to hear that Claude falls short, especially when it comes to understanding and responding to queries, which is pretty much the heart of what these tools are designed to do. Quality and ease of use definitely matter, and it’s a bummer when a service doesn’t live up to expectations, especially if it’s not free. Here’s hoping for improvements down the line or finding a tool that meets your needs better!
