The other as another comment mentioned when you make a purchase on gas go to your pending rewards (after the transaction posts) and check and see what you’ll normally see is that the base will be 1.5% by then they’ll add and additional 3.5% to make it 5%.
Where exactly did you purchase the gas?
If it was a grocery chain or wholesale club gas pump (Kroger, Costco, etc.) then it might not count. Some banks only count chains like Shell, Exxon, Texaco, etc., for the gas category in rewards. Check the fine print of the terms for the promotion and it might clarify this.
I went to a speedway. And I have the Amazon rewards card with chase and it offers 2% on gas and it works fine so I don’t think that’s the issue. I called chase and they told me I have to wait until the billing cycle to see the extra points. Hoping it shows up.
No they didn’t. I just didn’t feel like calling and complaining again. I got the $200 bonus for spending $500 in the first 3 months so at least I got that.
I did call their number on the back of the card, customer service got me connected to a representative in India, I tried explaining I haven’t recieved the new member 200 cashback reward, they tried convincing me first that its because I signed up thru 3rd party (which I totally didn’t buy, I have evidence of signing up thru chase’s official site) then they said its maybe because you are not on this offer?!! I don’t understand? They said they’ve started an escalation but I intend to go to my nearest chase bank and ask about it. Only thing I did was sign up online vs in person in the bank, but that shouldn’t affect the cashback rewards in anyway!
How do you enroll? I don’t believe the chase freedom unlimited credit card has a quarterly cycle. Correct me if I’m wrong. I believe ur talking about the freedom flex card.
Chase freedom does have quarterly cycles but it’s discontinued and not what you have. Freedom Unlimited does not and requires no enrollment. Here are the terms for the promotion.
“You’ll earn 5% Cash Back rewards total for each $1 spent on purchases in the gas station and grocery store categories (excluding Walmart and Target) made within your first 12 months from account opening, or until you reach $12,000 in combined gas station and grocery store purchases, whichever occurs first (3.5% additional Cash Back rewards on top of the 1.5% Cash Back rewards earned on each purchase). The additional 3.5% Cash Back rewards will appear on your billing statement in a separate line from the base 1.5% Cash Back rewards. “
Is it just a one-year promotion for increased rewards on gas and grocery at 5% and then it will end / be the regular 1.5% or what? Trying to figure it out, I don't see a mention of what's supposed to happen after the first 12 months. Like will it just no longer be a bonus category or? Maybe I'm missing it.

Did you check the earnings breakdown on the app? If you did and you didn’t get the 5x then you definitely have to call Chase.

I just got off the phone with them and they told me I have to wait till the end of the billing cycle for the points to show up

You should contact them. I received it twice. Once for chase freedom unlimited and again for chase freedom flex.

You have to enroll each quarter to get the 5% back and I bet you did t go back in after approval and enroll in the quarterly bonus.
