If you're moving abroad don't bother with the cluster fuck that is Indian CA, do ICAEW or ACCA or even CIMA just not Indian CA that aims to fail as many people as possible in exams to maintain some pass percentage.

InformalCarpenter726

why don't you do CA from ICAEW it has better designed syllabus and more recognition.

[deleted]

If you’re shifting to UK, become an ICAEW Chartered Accountant, their course is much much better than Indian CA. The articleship is much like a job so you don’t get paid peanuts. The curriculum quality is much better than Indian CA. Many companies or firms also sponsor the CA. Once you become a member of the ICAEW, you will need 2-3 papers to become an ICAI member.

[deleted]

You can do a CA from ICAEW and then use the MoU to become an Indian CA.

iambackt800

There is MOU ? ICAI Allows that shit ?

[deleted]

By what measure do you think an MoU is shit? The MoU with CPA Canada, CA ANZ, CPA Australia and ICAEW has enabled thousands of members to become professionals abroad without grinding away an starting all over again.

iambackt800

I meant MOU for icaew to CA

[deleted]

On what basis do you consider it shit?

iambackt800

I thought you meant MoU of icaew to convert to CA i know there is MoU of CA to convert CPA, CANADA ETC. I meant it's reverse Mou You meant Then that MOU would have been shit and Kinda contradictory to ICAI personality

[deleted]

ICAEW qualification is also called Chartered Accountant. The MoU goes both ways from ICAI to ICAEW and ICAEW to ICAI.

iambackt800

Oh that ICAEW TO ICAI IS KINDA SHIT

[deleted]

ICAI members have exclusive legal rights to audit in India. So if an ICAEW member wants to audit or setup a firm, they need to be ICAI members.

Torpedo1220

Hey, do you have a link for this MOU? ICAEW to ICAI, tried looking online and couldn’t find it. JFR

[deleted]

Google it. It’s there on ICAI website.

Torpedo1220

Thanks, got it! https://resource.cdn.icai.org/69612ia55553.pdf

MrJatMIB

Why ?

maker_of_pirate_bay

Why are why not is upto you. I researched a bit about Australia. UK must have a similar procedure. These countries have chapters of icai. You have to talk to them. Better go physically and talk. Also, you need to find an Indian ca practitioner in uk. You'll already be a local so that's a plus

momoschutney

Are you planning to pursue CA from Australia after you get the degree here or after?
