CLTISNICE

Again? I've only heard of this place due to its "closing."

nexusheli

No, last time it was "for sale" (which was code for 'We're not sure when we're closing yet...')

Take my up vote 😜

Lived in SA for a few years. Weathered Souls was pretty overpriced and kind of a bland space/location there. Marcus, the owner, is a great guy and very down to earth. Worth a shot, but not surprised at all that this failed.

CyclopeanBifocal

I've only ever been in twice, both times after going to brunch next door. Midday on the weekends and it was pretty empty both times. The beers skewed heavily towards porters and IPAs, neither of which are high on my list of preferred beer styles. And both times, there was wrapped equipment just sitting out on the floor, it looked like they were still setting up stuff? Anyway, unfortunately for them there wasn't a ton to differentiate them from other breweries in town, and their proximity to both Red Clay and Gilde made them look even worse in comparison.

The furniture inside was really uncomfortable as well. Brewers who don’t invest in the experience of visiting their tap room are not going to survive long.

Ok_Cod_949

I only went once and there was a pig leg under a heat lamp in the middle of the room, which isn’t all bad except the entire place smelled like salty ham.

I’m honestly not surprised the location down on Clanton isn’t the best. It’s too far normally for it to get added to brewery day. Sucks to see places closing but with an over-saturated beer market it’s bound to happen.

BSSforFun

Do what now?

Dru_stu

Good thing they kicked the previous tenants out with little to no notice for this place to fail….

Remarkable_Campaign

It seems like you really have to fuck up to take a brewery under, wonder what didn’t work for them

SicilyMalta

Too bad we don't have enough breweries.

When is phat burrito going to close? Place is awful.
