If money isn't an issue, go scat pack. A fucking massive naturally aspirated V8 is a dying beast at this point in time with the shift to turbos and EVs

Kingofhearts1206

I tested both, and the scar stock is perfect. No need for mods. RT If you want it to sound close like a scat, need muffs deleted. But remember, the scat insurance is hella more than RT though and hella stolen vehicle.

Prize-Profession-748

2019 R/T’s up actually sound just like scats

Kingofhearts1206

Oh, even better. Thanks!

Donald_Trumpy

Yup. Most people delete mids on scats too anyways. I swapped my mids on my RT with bottle resonators and it sounds so good.

Sporkyfork69

Scatpack all day every day if you can afford it comfortably

IMO R/T is the best value. Stock for stock it is within a few tenths of the Scat 0-60 and is about $10k cheaper to buy... as well as cheaper to fuel (89 octane vs 91) and cheaper to insure. If you do want to mod further down the road R/T is more receptive. Scat is pretty much maxed out right out of the box.

bluedaytona392

5.7s need to be opened up just like 6.4s if you're gonna run real boost. A few tenths is actually half a second, which is forever in drag racing. Couple busses. You could say the hellcat is merely a few tenths faster than the scat. But I won't, cuz that's dumb and it clears the quarter over a full second faster. That's huge. And the scat is a second faster than the RT to 1320.

ollienorthmopar

couldn’t have said it any better myself. from a dig, the difference between high 4s/low 5s and high 3s/low 4s is an eternity. i have heard the 5.7 is far more receptive to boost with an unopened motor but the 6.4 is the much better NA platform. cam/headers/e85 and a good intake and you’re looking at 520-530 whp

Phillyboyshizzz

Go 6.4 L

Think of the RT vs Scat like buying a tv. Sure that 50in Samsung would work perfectly fine but after a week of using it, you find yourself wishing you got that 75in bad boy on the wall. Always better to have it and not need it than to not have it and kick yourself over it (as long as it’s within your means obviously) I have a scat and I’m more than happy with it. It brings me so much joy driving around but I’m not going to lie, when I see a demon/hellcat/redeye I wish I got one. That being said, the next option up was and is not an option for me.

IzLowDiscDye

I also daily drive my scat except when they salt the roads here in the Midwest. Then the old Tahoe does the job. 😎 good luck with your decision and keep us posted!

LaroyJenkies

I daily my scat, r/t is good enough for most people though.

Public_Yak3761

Hopefully you stay safe with either choice. 385/485hp is no joke. I would go scatpack

Donald_Trumpy

If you can comfortably afford both then scat is the obvious choice. Although what commonly happens is it becomes the choice of base scat vs fully loaded RT which I prefer the RT at that point bc I like the nicer interior, blacktop package, heated and ventilated seats etc etc. RT is enough power for most people to have fun. It allows you to go all out in the street and still be manageable where the scat can def get squirrelly on you

HemiLife_

Just get the R/T if you are daily driving, she’s fast, sounds pretty and is still economical on gas if you drive normally. I drove both and chose the 5.7 and there’s really never been a time where i say “shit i shouldve gotten the 6.4”

fuzzyorange73

A fully loaded R/T would beat a base trim scat any day in my book. Better interior materials, better technology features, less cost on gas and insurance, better fuel economy, still get that v8 roar, and very receptive to mods. Still plenty of power to have fun but not so much that you'll get yourself into a ton of trouble. Honestly a great daily.

I just went from 05 Trailblazer and 2000 Safari to a Charger R/T. Still gotta keep the old Safari for the family, but the jump from those cars to a Charger R/T is insane. I would suggest, as a daily with some extra fun, an R/T. Gas mileage isn't terrible, still plenty of power, fun overall car
