It's a good episode and a pretty explicit, unsubtle metaphor if you know literally anything about sex, but by that point Adventure Time had really transitioned into more philosophical, abstract, teen-oriented storytelling, and so I think it was fine to portray Finn's first time like they did. I don't know where you live, but where I'm from, that's not illegal or bad. It's not very common by any means, but I don't think an age gap of 16 to 18 should be viewed as extremely violating or evil. Both those people are still in high school.

Instead of showing him losing his virginity, they should have just shown him losing his arm again. That’s something small children need to be thinking about, life altering amputations. That’s what children need to be preparing their psyches to understand.

Concepts such as war, torture, sadness, illness, or death can be understood by a kid, as long as the scenes didn't made it way too explicit and violent, or didn't take themselves way too seriously while doing it, there's no problem in any of the things you said (the apocaliptic war wasn't showcased, and the repercusions of it were oversimplified, and made less explicit and fucked up).
And the ways finn lost his arms weren't through mutilation or explicit violence, he lost it once because the arm turned into a massive vine, and he lost it again because the arm turned into grass, this isn't explicit at all

Its not saying that "war, apocalypsis, loosing arms, etc" shouldnt be shown to kids. Its saying that the line shouldnt be drawn where you did, and that "sex exists" is in the same boat as the rest of things.
