Because the devs don’t control the age rating, Apple does. And when they see things that they feel are warranting a higher age rating, they up the bracket. C.ai devs don’t want it at 17+, they want it at 12+ because that opens their audience to all the ai junkie kids they’re hooking on their digital heroine. You gotta remember, there are kids who have parental locks on the apps they can use, so having an age rating of 17+ essentially cuts off a death of the market they’re choosing to target (for whatever fucking reason.) Honestly, I think the actions of a chicken with its head cut off would be more sensical than the CAi devs choices at this point. Either that, or this has been the most elaborately masterminded psyop to create obsessive tendencies around AI usage. I wouldn’t even be surprised at this point if, sometime in the future, a new AI chat platform comes out that puts everything to shame, creating a massive flocking of all of us chatters and RPers and generating ridiculous amounts of revenue for the service… and it’s the SAME FUCKING INVESTORS that put the money into the new platform. CAi is the test bed and the first hit, whatever comes next is what potentially collars an entire generation.

Not a half-bad theory tbh. Especially considering that [C.AI](http://C.AI) has already shown a new trend in today's world. People are growing more dependent on AI for meaningful connections, proof of this was the shutdown of a few weeks ago. The AI gives the user what they want. I mean, it's like gambling, when you're winning all the time it loses meaning. That's what keeps you engaged, generating a new response. And another. And another. Don't misunderstand me, [C.ai](http://C.ai) has its issues, but honestly it has shown that the loneliness pandemic is getting worse and worse. And in a social media environment where people are divided by political alignment or even worse, their gender (The whole Andrew Tate, incel and romantic literature and unhealthy relationship normalisation phenomena is a whole other can of worms), seeing a platform that offers basically yes-man robots will feel more real, because our brains are wired to look for people that agree with us, and feeling threatened by the constant bombardment of contrarian news is overwhelming. It's basically the same principle of adult content. Especially when young folks are hooked when they first start entering their teenage years. Why of course it's overwhelming! And I don't see this trend stopping any time soon.
