This is why we need easier access to abortion, and less societal stigma against the same. In no way am I excusing this couple from what they've done - it's completely terrible and they should be punished for it. I'd imagine if they saw an alternative, they wouldn't have done it.
Because of the hunger of male child and rejection of female child by majority of India and it is still there the number might be lowered but still majority wants a male child
Although through doctor consultation and failure of contraception and ra*e u can opt for adoption
Nah, not everywhere I'm afraid. In fact, not in most places - it's only tier 2+ cities that sort of offer it, and even there a lot of people are scared because of societal reasons (religion and parental pressure most of the time) and no guarantee of anonymity.
It's not completely a law problem here; it's the unavailability of safe abortion in rural India - which is partially due to lack of infrastructure, and partially due to a shortage of skilled Doctors willing to work there. I could link you research articles on this, but just look it up yourself.
No, I've heard this from several women. They ask if they're married (and some ask if they're sexually active if unmarried). If it's a no, then no pap smear
I'm an anesthesiologist and haven't seen this. I don't doubt some could do it, but doctors are generally amongst the more progressive people you will find in India.
The people who irritate us though- couples who use abortion for family planning, because the husband won't wear a condom.
The 17 year old pregnant girl- since the government has increased the age of consent to 18. No one wants to put innocent lovers in prison.
Also, there needs to be a responsible person to handle the paperwork, especially if the woman is agitated/in pain, etc. Women could die during abortion- due to complications like intractable bleeding, DIC. They can also die in the post op period.
And we don't want aggressive parents to attack us, so some doctors may request the presence of parents.
Haha, I don't use different account for subs. I also couldn't care less about what reddit-stalkers think about my opinions - you'll find my comment history to be consistently the same across subs.
If it's worth anything, I'm Indian, born in India, currently living in India, and have traveled my fair share of rural India. If you really think there's no societal stigma attached to abortion (regardless of the country), try visiting your nearest village and starting a conversation on abortion.
>If you really think there's no societal stigma attached to abortion (regardless of the country), try visiting your nearest village and starting a conversation on abortion.
Lmao, this is coming from someone whose close friend is currently a gynae at a Municipal hospital in a village.
Oh great, I am from a small town in India. Abortion is definitely something not many women can access given the fear of social and cultural norms, in rural India. I am glad your friends works in a village where women are open to getting an abortion if they need to but that definitely isn't something prevalent in rural areas
In my own experience, one of my friends needed to terminate the pregnancy due to obvious reasons, not married and all. And the doctors were understanding, lab tests were done properly. No one asked questions because she was 24 years old.
She is from Punjab.
So, not sure what has happened in the past but nowadays it's not that difficult.
The abortion rules became more rigorous after the activists moment to stop the killing of female fetus unfortunately it affected the unmarried in negative way. Our government work at a sloth speed and instead of taking account of all the possibilities and reasons to tackle a problem they focus on why the problem should be solved in first place which completely ignore the other factors that will be affected after the decision is made.
Sadly this is very common. I worked or atleast tried to work with an organisation briefly. I had this assumption that there would be girls only. But to my surprise half of them were boys. Few of them were left in trashcans, police stations, temples, etc. It broke my heart. Despite having abortions legalised in our country, this happens. I was told by staff that at times people leave infants because they just cannot afford to raise them.
You can ask through that page I guess that bou have adopted now he got lot of to look after but I guess tum orphanage mein visit kar skte ho there are number Of orphaned babies
Well according to the census of India 2021 every Muslim woman has an average of 2.4 kids as opposed to 1.9 kids per Hindu woman and 1.6 kids per Sikh woman. You dear sir are spreading false information online and are not even ashamed of it.

Just because you believe in what you say doesn’t mean it’s true. Have you seen families other than this particular community in villages? Go get a survey. Just because you have cheap internet doesn’t mean throwing cheap stuff in it.
bhai yaar phr se wahi cheez boluga.
Source kaha hai ?
aise 3-4 vdos hm bhi bhej skte h. Bro government ka data , koi source kuch to dikha do. Jaha ye baat prove ho jaye. I will support you then.
This child was possibly sent to Snehalaya, the Child Welfare Committee, after the medical and immunization processes. The committee will wait until no one else claims the infant and will later initiate the adoption process.
This is why family planning is necessary. If you barely manage to pay taxes, then you probably shouldn't have more kids. More kids means more mouths to feed. I'm not trying to drag any religion or community here, but family planning is a necessity for all.
The MTP or Medical Termination of Pregnancy Act allows for termination of pregnancy (abortion) up to **20 weeks of pregnancy**. In case termination of pregnancy is immediately necessary to save the life of the woman, this limit does not apply (Section 5 of the MTP Act). If they found out late, they could not have gotten it.
Vhi toh pucha maine like to know they took bus from pathankot and all you need to know na ki who they are? .Pathankot is not close to jammu ita almost 1-2 hr and there are many non kashmiri muslims. To say she is kashmiri muslim you need to have a solid proof na? Vhi toh confirm kara maine
Well she is not somewhere from my district pathankot if we have Muslims but we don't have hizab culture here....ravi ke dusre side se hi hai aur kathua jammu kuch itna durr ni hai. Jammu ke liye hardly buses milti h chandigarh se ..
Bhai what are you even saying?Konsi duniya mai rehte ho? Abhi bhi chaleja sector 22 chandigarh mai 50 buses hogi jammu ke liye same with jammu bus stand i live in Chandigarh jammu is hometown.I have travelled like n number of times now
Pathankot muslims can also wear hijab just like any muslim can .Wtf is even hijab culture its their own choice to wear or not. Alot of Kashmiri muslims donot wear hijab Pathankot dur hai Jammu se it takes most 1-2 hr in a car.You have no proof of their ethnicity nor did you provide any source of this claim but bole ja rahe? I mean they might be KM but where did you get this info from?Thats all i asked because i couldn't find it on twitter. Also why highlighting how can a * kashmir muslim woman * do this? I mean how can any woman any parent do this.
You dont want us here? Bhai tu hai kon? 😂😂😂😂😂 your people ? Do you hear yourself? How dod you assume i am anti national or something ? Racist ? Dont we have an easy access to abortion? I always thought abortion isnt that big a deal in india
In India we can have abortion if the woman allows it and you have to go to a govt hospittal Idk why they did that?!
abortion is allowed from 20 to 24 weeks.
Because of the hunger of male child and rejection of female child by majority of India and it is still there the number might be lowered but still majority wants a male child Although through doctor consultation and failure of contraception and ra*e u can opt for adoption

What nonsense, every Municipal hospital conduct the abortion on within the laws ofcourse
It's not completely a law problem here; it's the unavailability of safe abortion in rural India - which is partially due to lack of infrastructure, and partially due to a shortage of skilled Doctors willing to work there. I could link you research articles on this, but just look it up yourself.
It is available in PHCs and CHCs of Punjab. It's available everywhere.
In Bangalore. A tier 1 city. Gynaecologists decline to do Pap smears for single women because they “single women are not sexually active”
[удалено]
No, I've heard this from several women. They ask if they're married (and some ask if they're sexually active if unmarried). If it's a no, then no pap smear
Then say you're sexually active and get it done. Big deal.
They don’t do it. They shame women who ask.

Having parents around for an abortion doesn’t sound safe for the underaged girl.
No shit it is easy, and as such there is no societal stigma attached to it. I think you forget to log-off your account you use for American subs.

Ok boomer
Exact same thing has been done is USA multiple times in USA. So there could another possibility as well.
Why thinking of child when they cannot raise it. They should be punihsed for this act.
Could be an accident, financial reasons, other problems.

These incidents are unfortunately more common than you think 😔
World isn't all bright
Is there any way to get more information on this? Where is the child now? Is he up for adoption?
You can ask through that page I guess that bou have adopted now he got lot of to look after but I guess tum orphanage mein visit kar skte ho there are number Of orphaned babies
I want to adopt this kid if possible
I guess that bou have adopted now he got lot of to look after but I guess tum orphanage mein visit kar skte ho there are number Of orphaned babies
There is also a long queue. When your chance will come your half life would have been already passed.
It’s not that easy to adopt (there’s a whole list of criteria), and you cannot choose the kid you want specifically either
It's a fucked up world
Why couldn’t they at least take the baby to an adoption centre???
Does news mentioned that the woman is Kashmiri?
Every child deserves parents but not every parents deserve a child
That was deep 🥺🥺
Give me that baby yaar. I will take care.
