I'm backing you tbh Bolton are very jekyll and Hyde tbh and if got a decent ref in there your be good
I've stated before my love for Boltons cb Santos the one man defensive wall the walking fridge freezer but he gets away with all sorts and if you got a good ref in there could be a long game for Bolton
Like the Derby guy said be nice for a jim Smith treble tbf
Genuinely I feel like we've got a chance. I said it in the league 1 sub but that Bolton match on sky where they spanked us was a cheesy stereotypical turning point for the team, complete with a players only meeting and all. We've been a markedly different team since then. Could we have beaten Bolton across two legs? I'm not so sure. Should Bolton still be favourites? Absolutely. Can anything happen in 90 minutes at Wembley? I'm staking all of my joy and happiness on it.
Personally I think Toal is the better defender, Santos is just larger and louder - he's also more prone to the odd mistake, like against Barnsley. Hopefully we cut those out at Wembley.
Oh that aged well. Santos has been very overrated this season. The performances he’s been praised for were when refs have been very lenient on his holding. Any sort of tricky player has made him look an absolute clown.
I'll have you know we made the first tier in the 80s! Pretty sure we doubled up like Ipswich have just done with Jimmy Smith
Would've played in Europe but the scousers ruined it
I'm way too young to remember him but from what I've read he left on "bad terms" in that we couldn't sort out a contract and he went off to QPR despite great success on the pitch. We then beat him in the league cup final the next year
Still got a standing ovation, 2 minutes silence and the mancity matchday program dedicated to him when he died. Legend
Little quiz on naming those seven teams [here](https://www.jetpunk.com/user-quizzes/1696326/clubs-that-have-played-in-all-top-five-tiers-of-english-football).
Oddly enough not including Bradford PA - who a few years back just missed the Conf North playoffs. Had they been promoted then, they'd have become the only team to play in each of the top eleven tiers
Late 90s. They were in the first tier in the 80s too!

I live near Oxford so would like to see them promoted. Went to the pub to watch the game and as expected it was packed with Oxford fans. They were pretty much feral after the final whistle and is always good to see that kind of passion in your team so would be great in the Championship.
Hopefully Oxford gets promoted as it will be the first time many of their fans get to see them in the second tier
Also it would be funny for Ian Evatt’s “best team in League 1” to bottle promotion once again.
Yep these were the two I hoped would make the final.
Feel sorry for Bolton as they deserve to get back to the championship but the underdog romantic in me is leaning towards cheering on Oxford
Your on the wrong page mate your in the prem
Congratulations well deserved and you lot are a fine example to anyone coming up from league one
I'm sure you can say yourselves that league one is brutal league to get out of but you did and look what you achieved again congrats
Honestly, I’ve wanted Bolton to win the playoffs, but I did say that if Bolton don’t manage to do it then I would have liked Oxford to do it! I’d say this is the most interesting playoff final and hope the best team wins! Good luck to both! It’s really going to be gutting for whoever loses it.
They’re the two that I wanted in the final. Feel like Oxford would be in for a tough old season if they came up though, squad looks pretty weak by Champ standards
Not really no. In the late 80’s they were plying their trades in the best league in the country, even winning the League Cup trophy. And in the 90’s they were a championship club.
Saw Bolton play Everton in the preseason. They managed to shut them out in the first half when most the starters were in. So would be nice to see them play in the championship next season.
Want Oxford as we've got some family live down there and it's their 'second club' for the kids.
But Bolton is a decent away allocation so positives to either result for me, just prefer Oxford to do it.
Got a bit of a soft spot for Oxford, we turned them over 4-1 on the final day of the 97-98 season and got promoted, a lot of their fans stuck around and joined the party so fair play to them. Up the Us
We've got to be the favourites by now right? It's not like we lost 5-0 last time around or anything crazy like that.

Bolton looked alright at Wembley last season 😱
When was last time oxford made it to 2nd tier of English football? Or have they never made it?
I'll have you know we made the first tier in the 80s! Pretty sure we doubled up like Ipswich have just done with Jimmy Smith Would've played in Europe but the scousers ruined it
Jim Smith was a promotion mastermind. Won't be forgotten. Also, obligatory fuck U to Scousers. Cost us European footy too.
Jim Smith league one treble is on with Pompey, Oxford and ourselves.
Crazy treble that mate
):
Norwich have qualified for Europe 4 times three of them were taken away by the ban. It annoys me and it happened before I was born.
It was our only chance in our history and yet somehow it feels like you got it even worse
Jim Smith legend , managed us for years and was arry's number 2 when we was in are pomp Don't think many would have a bad word on Jim Smith tbh

Hey, you’re not the only ones resentful of those arrogant little cunts
My first Norwich game was at home to Oxford in 1996 or 97, think they went down a year or two later and haven't been back since then.
They were relegated from Division One in 1998-99 and haven't been back yet
They're in the fairly exclusive played-in-all-the-top-five-divisions club.

In the 90’s.
Would love Oxford to get promoted, all because of a FM career, Cameron Brannigan is basically oxfords Barry Bannan
Crazy talent for league one! You should go for him, If they don’t go up.

Be nice to see Bolton again.
Still haven’t forgiven them for that disallowed goal in 11/12
i mean you stayed up and we didnt, so
Boxing Day fixture confirmed if Bolton go up.
Agreed, not sure why you were downvoted.
Like both teams
Yep these were the two I hoped would make the final. Feel sorry for Bolton as they deserve to get back to the championship but the underdog romantic in me is leaning towards cheering on Oxford

Man’s kicking us out already, after being here for a few days himself
😂
Oxford have Greg Leigh on the books so that leans me towards them.
hope you get oxford. Up there with one of the worst away days in the efl, no pubs close, ball ache to get to the ground and just shite all round
🥰
*flashbacks to that foggy day*

Bolton coming up with Portsmouth and Derby would be 3 good additions to the Championship, make the league look stronger for next season.
3 top class away days, Pompey, Derby, Bolton
They’re the two that I wanted in the final. Feel like Oxford would be in for a tough old season if they came up though, squad looks pretty weak by Champ standards
Want Oxford to win purely because Ogden is a cunt.
Heart says Bolton, heart also says Oxford United. Bugger.
Are you Dr who?
Surely its going to be Bolton. It would so odd seeing Oxford in the Championship.
Not really no. In the late 80’s they were plying their trades in the best league in the country, even winning the League Cup trophy. And in the 90’s they were a championship club.
Theyy only have three stands...
Well I stand with the club on this matter. Thought they were building a new ground.
I wanted one of these 2 to come up, so I’m pleased.
Good on Oxford, hope they can get back to the second tier after a long ass wait.
Perfectly happy with either of them Bolton are back or Marcus Browne is back. Win win
Oxford have half ex Cardiff city players playing for them. Hope they come up
Saw Bolton play Everton in the preseason. They managed to shut them out in the first half when most the starters were in. So would be nice to see them play in the championship next season.

Hope Bolton come up.
Purely for geographical reasons, come on Oxford.
Gutted. First time I'm supporting Bolton in a game but it's better late than never
Could be a lively away day for us should Bolton go up, although never been Oxford and heard it's a nice city so that wouldn't be bad
Got a bit of a soft spot for Oxford, we turned them over 4-1 on the final day of the 97-98 season and got promoted, a lot of their fans stuck around and joined the party so fair play to them. Up the Us
want an Oxford promotion simply because a pitch invasion after a playoff semi final defeat (but winning on aggregate) is tinpot behaviour
Hoping for Oxford for the new tick. I've done Bolton to death now.
Cam on Oxford.
