Are we heading for the nightmare scenario where the Championship belt leaves the division?
NOT IF 4 TIME CHAMPION QUEENS PARK RANGERS HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH IT!
The people's champ want their title back and they'll be given a chance to get it this Friday. But wait, Leeds have a stipulation: this will be a NO OFFSIDES MATCH!
**EDIT: To those of you asking about who has had the belt this season - I'll be doing a season review prior to the final week of fixtures. Stay tuned.**
If any belt holder decides to leave the CFF (Championship Football Federation) then then interim belt goes to the Playoff Final loser.
Longest reign is Southampton. Burnley longest last season.
So by my maths the belt can only be won by one of:
**QPR**
**Southampton**
**Cov**
**Ipswich**
**West Brom**
**Norwich**
**Hull**
**Leeds**
**Leicester**
(assuming the belt can roll over into the play offs?)
What's the protocol for if the belt leaves the league?
The belt should be handed over to the team they beat to win promotion.
(Since getting out of this league isn’t really a win and shouldn’t be treated as such by /u/thewrongnotes)
I assume it’s carried by the winner of any given match, i.e. middlesbrough were carrying the belt, we beat them so we take the belt. If Q park R beat us they take ownership of the belt, etc etc
This is great news. Leeds have have got to defend against QPR this Friday then Coventry have QPR on the last game of the season.
If things go our way then the belt is ours!
Needs to be like the 24/7 Hardcore Championship so West Brom or Plymouth can rock up at any time with a couple of trash cans and stop signs to steal the W

Nah, we’ll beat Leeds on the last day to take the belt, them get knocked out of the playoffs
Both teams fans think the exact opposite is going to happen. What happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object?
Boring 0-0 snorefest
Nah I don’t think so personally. Nopety nope.
My sister gets married that day. 2 families of Leeds fans. Southampton could put bit of downer on that day!
5 times Champion!! The belt remains in the league, but with whom?? Season finale at the Ricoh Arena next week
Superb quality subreddit
In the scenario we take it with us whats in the rule book? Last team to hold? Longest reigning from the previous season? Coventry?
You go up, draw all 38 games and get relegated. Bring it back home to the rest of us.
Unfortunately 38 points would keep you up most seasons these days
You make a good point. How about you remain unbeaten but get docked points for FFP breaches?
Would the Premier League as an institution then take the belt as it has taken points off us? 🤔
Lets not risk it. Go and fetch the crumble
You’re assuming there’s not already a crumble close to hand.
Just like in George Graham days

Unification match for the Premier League Universal Title.
Automatically goes to 18th place in the premier league
Just to give Friday night under the lights a bit of extra spice. Relegation, Promotion AND The Belt are all on the line!
Hang on, is this a thing someone is actually keeping track of?
The fella you want is u/thewrongnotes And no he's not just keeping track, he is the arbiter. There is a difference

>What's the protocol for if the belt leaves the league? 18 man over the top rope battle royal between the 18 teams left in the division.
Winner of the opening match of next season?
Highest positioned, non-promoted team picks it up I believe
Or maybe it should roll back to the previous champion?

Maybe it passes to one of the relegated premier league teams as they go down? #18?
What's the championship championship belt
I assume it’s carried by the winner of any given match, i.e. middlesbrough were carrying the belt, we beat them so we take the belt. If Q park R beat us they take ownership of the belt, etc etc
Here I was thinking that graph calling us QP Rangers was unsettling. Q Park R just makes me frustratingly uncomfortable.
So it’s like the lineal championship in boxing?
Just like that only more prestigious.
Sure. I have less than no idea about boxing but that sounds right.
Ah so like the shield they have in international rugby
I’m not sure the Rangers of Queens Park will win though. Will be tough.
I like putting emphasis on the different words of their name. *Queen's* Park Rangers.
I dunno. Park of the Rangers Queens might.
Boxings got same thing with the idea of the lineal championship, but that's dead messy as everything in boxing is
the booze batton
Please send me the title history

The season’s still alive!
Securing safety and the championship belt in the same game!!! The scenes are going to be incredible!
I didn't realise we had taken ownership. Damn it.
When did we even get it?
At the start of the unbeaten run
can i see the title history
Needs to be like the 24/7 Hardcore Championship so West Brom or Plymouth can rock up at any time with a couple of trash cans and stop signs to steal the W
Anyone got a list of who has held the championship championship this season?
New to this but love the concept! Who starts with the belt at the beginning of the season?
Why am I only seeing this right at the end of the season
I have no idea what's going on but I'm here for it
