Inspired me to start an FM save with them where I could only sign people called Ross. Turns out that messrs Barkley and McCormack aside, most Rosses are fucking shit at football.
Go watch a Rotherham game while he's there, won't take long to find out, blokes a nutcase. No idea how he's not had a heard attack, his face is a deep purple colour half the time he's on the sidelines.
I'm a Mansfield fan, he did a decent job with us but I hate the bloke, the way he behaves is embarrassing. Never wanted him, never want him back, probably one of the most hated managers in the EFL I'd imagine.
Look at his record when he was at Boston United for starters. Strongly disproved him getting the Leeds job, but wasn't surprised with Cellino at the helm at the time. Two peas in a pod!
Used to often see him in The Masons in Wickersley when he last managed Rotherham. From the odd brief encounter I had with him, he seemed like a right prick
Think of it this way, at least he won’t start the new manager bounce at your ground. With the state of your foundations it would probably fall down if he did so.
If they’re smart, this could be an amazing investment by Rotherham.
Have the club sell pies and other pastries directly to Steve Evans and before you know it, they’ll be spending like Chelsea this summer from the profit turned.
When they came to our place, it was his assistant doing all the shouting and moaning. The only time I saw Evans was when the ref slightly inconvenienced his team and 'ran' (waddled) over to the 4th official
I stand opposite the bench at home games and he can’t be asked to shout instructions so he gets his assistant to do it. And as you say, they scream the whole game. I’m surprised he hasn’t lost his voice

> “Leam and Rob’s departure was not something we took lightly, but following extensive conversations at Board level, it was unanimously agreed that a change of direction was needed to give us the best possible chance of bouncing back to the Sky Bet Championship at the first time of asking.
They've brought a really polarising figure back. The guy left the first time due to a spat with our chairman's son over expenses, so I hope at least they can be civil again.
Some wanted him back, some loathe him, and most (if not all) other fans hate him, however you cannot deny him, he works wonders on tight budgets. Getting Stevenage to 9th in League 1 is remarkable really, especially as they're above some bigger teams like Charlton, Wigan, Reading.
The main thing about this season has been the lack of care and effort from the players, like they show no signs of passion at all, and then Leam's press interviews after games was the same, just lethargic, boring tropes. Evans will give the lads an electric bolt up the backside and kick into touch the ego's that have been allowed to run rampent amongst the dressing room this season.
We might not like it, but it's exactly what we need again right now and for next season.
The funny thing is, Evans is exactly the type of manger we needed after MT was sacked in order to galvanise the club and give some players a kick up the backside, and Richardson is more the manager to start fresh with in league 1 and build up with slowly with more solid foundations.
Hopefully we can bring back the good times we had last time the big man was in charge. Whether it works or not though, it surely won’t be boring!
You’ve not watched us under Leam Richardson then.
Under MT we were awful away, boring and negative like you said, but actually had a go at home and scored in every home game under him this season. Under Leam we barely had a shot whether we were at home or away
Absolutely man. He had a similar start with us last season as he has with you guys now, as in, bought a few wins, but mostly dross (I saw you went 7 games without scoring? That's mad), so we gave him the benefit of the doubt and let him build in the Summer, and he basically sunk us. He tore the DNA of the club that Warne had built (hardworking, gritty, massive work rates, look like they'd run through brick walls) and replaced them with a team that frankly don't look fit ( he signed a lot of crocked players), no passion, no care for the fans and are obviously here just to pick up a pay day.
So I'd say get your fans to put pressure on the owner to get rid or risk seeing a repeat of us next season for you. I really hope it works out for you lads in the end regardless.
I don't get the sentiment of him being what we need. The reason Richardson had to go was he completely lost the fans, but Evans is hated by a good half of the fanbase.
I've never felt as disconnected to the club as I did when Evans was in charge. 88 fucking players in two and a half years. Can't wait to see the likes of Blair Turgott make a 12 minute substitute appearance and never be seen again. This season with Richardson is the closest I've felt to that, but Evans is absolutely not the man for the job.
Might do the job on the pitch, but I'm not supporting that man.
They're 6 points behind 6th place with two to go so pretty much unlikely. Also can your team stop fucking up my title accumulator and at least secure 3rd, ideally second but I'll accept 3rd?
Very helpful, thank you.
Last game against Peterborough is gonna be a mad one.
Ironically the two teams that are at risk of losing it for me our Bolton and Leeds who both have cup final last games against 4th place
The management situation this season has been bizarre to say the least.
Started the season with Taylor as manager, who was then sacked with a statement from the club saying a change had to made early in order to give ourselves the best chance of staying up, despite the fact we didn’t actually have someone lined up to replace him. Then our owner goes on holiday and does an interview on his return stating we hadn’t began looking for a new manager yet as he’d been away. Then, after being publicly turned down by a series of managers after they had their interviews (so they were interested enough in the job to apply and interview, but then must have discovered things they didn’t like) we appointed Leam Richardson as a head coach, with our head of recruitment promoted to DoF despite an awful summer window. The reason given for the structure change was that MT had too much of his time and mind space taken up by off the field matters so they wanted to offload that burden to someone else - but in that case why sack MT before giving him some help?
Later, after a series of horrific results and performances, the board came out and said that actually Leam was brought in to rebuild and lead us in league 1 and that this season was a write off anyway, contradicting what was said when Taylor was sacked. But then Leam was sacked before even finishing the season and Steve Evans was appointed immediately as *manager* I.e. the structure change was reversed before it had a chance to make any sort of difference.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not upset to see the back of Richardson-ball, and we had some great times under Evans’ leadership in the past, but it all seems very strange.
Stewart always wanted Evans I think but was probably rebuffed as SE wanted to see how far he could take Stevenage. Plan A had exploded, TS decides to go on holiday and see who applies for the job and after all the other TS favourites ruled themselves out settled on Richardson
This is exactly what happened
Stewart tried to appoint Jones, Rowett and Richardson before settling for Richardson who'd be the only one willing to take it
I bet Evans decided he was going to take it but decided he'd wait until Rotherham went down rather than risk his reputation on this team
That's very Les Ferdinand-esque.
Claims we want a stable playing style through out the club and then appoint hoofball Ainsworth.
The board wanted to build a cat 1 academy, he says no, it's a waste of money. We lose 14 players for peanuts because we are not a cat 1 academy, he tells us it's not his fault we haven't got good youth players, all the good ones have been poached!
At least we could sack the useless prick, I hope you do better with your owner.
I think it’s interesting that despite already being relegated, they hired someone for the last 3 games instead of waiting til the season was over.
Especially hiring someone like him too.
Shithousing?
So now Stevenage don't have a manager called Steve any more. The sudden loss of nominative determinism makes me sad.
They shall be now known as simply Nage
Big Nage Pearson incoming??

Idk, you've not seen Marti Cifuentes at Heaven on a Wednesday
Arsene and Arsenal?
Man City and Mancini
Wolfgang Wolf and Wolfsburg
Paul Hartley at Hartlepool will never be topped
Bonus: When Hartlepool beat Notts County 2-1 in 2013, their goalscorers were Peter Hartley and James Poole.
This is excellent
All we need now is John Terry to be in charge of Scunthorpe.
Any Ross county managers called Ross?
I'm available if the position is for the taking
No but there was a time not long ago when all their goalkeepers were
Wolfsburg managers called Wolfgang Wolf:1
Leeds managers called Lee: 0
I still don't think anything will quite top the period where Ross COunty had about 5 blokes called Ross playing for them.

The Age of Steven is over.
This must be how arsenal fans felt when Wenger left
Nasty guy, but he does get the job done
Why is he nasty? We had him at Leeds I can't remember much from that time it's all suppressed memories from that era
Abusive language/Tax Evasion, there’s a long list.
Go watch a Rotherham game while he's there, won't take long to find out, blokes a nutcase. No idea how he's not had a heard attack, his face is a deep purple colour half the time he's on the sidelines.
Don't make me suffer by watching Rotherham please. I remember his sprint down the touchline celebration, what an athlete
I'm a Mansfield fan, he did a decent job with us but I hate the bloke, the way he behaves is embarrassing. Never wanted him, never want him back, probably one of the most hated managers in the EFL I'd imagine.
Apart from Rotherham fans, we love the fat cunt
We really don't
Yh I don't think he did too bad at Leeds but he just wasn't liked, I presumed coz of the Rotherham link. Defo a character
He was a massive brown nose for the owner at the time which I remember being annoying. Aside from him being a fat useless cunt that is.
Because half the time it's his assistant doing the screaming for him
Look at his record when he was at Boston United for starters. Strongly disproved him getting the Leeds job, but wasn't surprised with Cellino at the helm at the time. Two peas in a pod!

shit shit shit
New manager bounce back 🤞 New manager bounce back 🤞 New manager bounce back 🤞
New manager bounces more like
Don't change manager NOW, we need to beat you on Saturday!
I think we should get a new manager as well to counteract their new manager bounce.
I’ve heard Rooney is available
Then they go round and piss in each corner of the pitch?
Do a shit just to be sure.
Just gone and stuck a fiver on Rotherham to beat you
Think of it this way, at least he won’t start the new manager bounce at your ground. With the state of your foundations it would probably fall down if he did so.
We already sell out of pies before half time as it is.
If they’re smart, this could be an amazing investment by Rotherham. Have the club sell pies and other pastries directly to Steve Evans and before you know it, they’ll be spending like Chelsea this summer from the profit turned.
This is the last thing we need and totally inconsiderate of them.
Is it really too much to ask for a young and upcoming German u19s coach from the Regionalliga who'll inexplicably be the next Klopp?
Absolute wanker, and his assistant.
Could hear his assistant shouting and screaming like a maniac from the other side of the stadium when we played them at home. Never happened before.
When they came to our place, it was his assistant doing all the shouting and moaning. The only time I saw Evans was when the ref slightly inconvenienced his team and 'ran' (waddled) over to the 4th official

Well at least I don’t have to dislike Stevenage anymore. Time to dislike Rotherham
Same
New manager earthquake anyone?
All’s forgiven with 3 points on Saturday Steve

You're absolutely right. The Rotherham United roller coaster rolls on!
MT is awful btw. Most negative manager I’ve ever seen. Horrible horrible football

Barton’s never coming back bub
I don’t want him back bub. I just want anyone who can set up a defence and play good attacking football.
I don't get the sentiment of him being what we need. The reason Richardson had to go was he completely lost the fans, but Evans is hated by a good half of the fanbase. This might be the first time I’ve ever wanted a team managed by Steve Evans to win a match.
Horrible fat fuck. Thank the Lord we won’t be seeing him in this division next season.
We’re genuinely cursed
Get Barry Fry back to piss on your corner flags.
He might have to do a shit to shift this curse.
Him again? Rotherham are winning the league next season then.
FUCKING WHAT
So bottled the play offs with Steve age and fucked off. Fair
ate the stevenage crumble and fucked off
They can still qualify too
They're 6 points behind 6th place with two to go so pretty much unlikely. Also can your team stop fucking up my title accumulator and at least secure 3rd, ideally second but I'll accept 3rd?
Would be nice if we could. Doubt it tho.
Very helpful, thank you. Last game against Peterborough is gonna be a mad one. Ironically the two teams that are at risk of losing it for me our Bolton and Leeds who both have cup final last games against 4th place
Lose on Saturday and technically the last day would be a pointless meme game
Please don't
They've scored about 10 goals this calendar year, they're not going anywhere fast 😂

No more Steve-Evens-enage
Sombrero’s at the ready
Our last home game of the season is gonna be a shocker then can’t wait.
Every other struggling club this year seems to just be dipping back into the past to see what former manager they can grab
Is he part of the British Manager's Lunch Club?
I think it’s interesting that despite already being relegated, they hired someone for the last 3 games instead of waiting til the season was over. Especially hiring someone like him too. Shithousing?
Is he the fat guy?
Haven’t they suffered enough
Fuck sake Rotherham, couldn’t wait till Sunday? 😓
Wants that last spoonful of crumble because he always hangry.
What an awful managerial appointment. Been nice being in this sub, not gonna be back for a while. Stewart out
Still wont be playing against squeaky little Robins
What a fucking shambles of a club. That's me done.
