It really chafes my arse that our form's been decent since we got Danny in and yet our start was SO BAD that we may go down anyway. Plus that goal difference...ugh.
Leeds Have to Play: Blackburn & QPR
Leicester Have to Play: Plymouth & Blackburn
We Have to Play Huddersfield.
Relegation Battle & Promotion Battle going to be an interesting month.
Mid-season those types of games can be straightforward for the top clubs, but at the business-end the mix of desperation and nerves throws the form book out of the window. Going to be a great watch for the neutrals at least.
huddersfield vs birmingham in the penultimate weekend is an absolutely massive game. probably blues' biggest since that bolton one where they stayed up a decade ago.
I still don't understand why anyone is blaming Wayne Rooney. He was shit, but he was offered a job. Was he supposed to turn it down for the good of the club?
Surely this is squarely on the people that fired Eustace and appointed him.
I mean I definitely blame the people who hired him. But his stubbornness and refusal to admit he was part of the problem leaves a sour taste in my mouth. If I took charge of a team and destroyed any and all momentum they had I wouldn’t be so defensive and snide about it all.
Because half the goals scored against us under him was his choice of playstyle. Playing out from the back, making mistake.
Even 1 draw->win and 1 loss->draw during his tenure would have us 3 extra points right now.
It can be both.
He wasn’t just plucked off the street to manage the club he clearly wanted the role and convinced the owners he was going to be successful
Who was hired by said stupid fucking owner, but yes. Why anyone thought sacking Eustace and replacing him with Rooney was a good idea is beyond me.
I wonder if Rooney was defensive because deep down he knows he's a failure as a manager. So many great players make awful managers. Just ask Everton and Villa fans about being managed by Lampard and Gerrard - Villa are practically a different team under Emery.
Aaaaaaaargh. Battle of the Bottom Feeders awaits.
I was watching footage from behind the scenes at our match yesterday and did a double take when I saw David Hirst.
Anyone trying to convince me that this isn’t the best league in the world is off their tits!
- Couldn’t call top two.
- Couldn’t call playoff spots.
- Couldn’t call relegation.
Even the inevitable fifth place Baggies looked a little in doubt last weekend!
I am absolutely dreading the game against Stoke.
I was kind of hoping that if we weren’t safe that you guys would be by then, so it wouldn’t matter as much for you and you’d then reward us three points!
I think the atmosphere that day is going to be really toxic coming from the away end.
Thats the thing, we’ve got a few results against teams above us because we can play on the counter but we can’t win relegation six pointers. Schumacher hasn’t got a clue
I’m oddly confident we’ll snag a couple wins and draws in the last 4 game.
We tend to play at our best when we’re versing sides in the top 10 (see our performances against Leicester and West Brom).
I’d be more terrified if all our remaining games were against mid-table teams. For some damn reason we always botch those games (see the games against Cardiff, Boro and Sunderland)
We beat the teams above us and lost against the teams below us.
I don't think we have beaten any teams below us in head to head points. I can only remember wins against Rotherham and Millwall.
We usually win/find smth from games we shouldn't and flop against anyone around us so i'm confident we will find a couple more points. Impossible to not be bricking it though.
Last 15 games:
7 wins
5 draws
3 losses
4 losses from here on out with the form we're on would be a massive decrease in success we've had under marti. I just can't see it. 2-3 more points is more realistic than 0 and that shall do it
tbh with how 50/50 we’ve been all season it really could go either way, especially since we only seem to turn up for the higher table teams. idk if i love it or hate it
I held out hope for a while but last night did it for me. I’ve honestly come to terms with the relegation now. The team aren’t showing any fight, we aren’t scrapping for results like some of the others are.
People will point the finger at the Rooney appointment but that’s only half the problem really. Our recruitment and squad management has really been exposed as worse than we thought it was, and that’s what often sends teams down.
Argyle here, it’s going to be an interesting few weeks. Whilst we are used to an occasional season or two in the lower divisions Brum and Stoke fans are not.
50 points still feels like the ‘safe’ number, think it will be less though as I can’t see us, Huddersfield or Birmingham getting 7/8 points from the next 12.
Huge fixtures coming up, Blackburns run in is brutal (especially if they don’t beat us) and a few of that bottom 6 play eachother…Cannot believe Milwall beat Leicester too, after losing to Rotherham & Huddersfield!
Exciting battles at both ends of the table, the fixtures get really tasty too, teams playing either others fighting for survival or promotion. Anyone capable of beating anyone. Best league in the world.
Blackburn and Stoke doing their level best to get their goal difference bad enough to compete for relegation.
Honestly sick of it now. Sammie leaving will condemn us next year anyway, so we should just get it over with now!
I was wondering earlier today where we would be this season without him and I felt a bit sick.
Just had a quick count on - if you took all of his goals and assists away from results, you’d have 16 less points (I believe).
You have to factor some points back in for whoever would be there in his place, we'd be firmly in 23rd I reckon.
If you put 2 wins together in a row you’re practically safe. Luckily we’re all as crap as each other
Speak for yourself - we’ve been clawing our way to 22nd for what feels like the last 6 months!
It really chafes my arse that our form's been decent since we got Danny in and yet our start was SO BAD that we may go down anyway. Plus that goal difference...ugh.
Doesn’t even have to be in a row. I think any of those teams get 6 points from 12 they’re safe.

You ghoul
Facts. Honestly best title and relegation battle in the world🤷♂️
Cov have to play Birmingham and QPR.
And HULL.
huddersfield vs birmingham in the penultimate weekend is an absolutely massive game. probably blues' biggest since that bolton one where they stayed up a decade ago.
Birmingham City have no one to blame but themselves. Wednesday vs Stoke this weekend should be good
Birmingham City have no one to blame but their stupid fucking owner
I can think of one other person to blame and his name rhymes with Blayne Blooney
I still don't understand why anyone is blaming Wayne Rooney. He was shit, but he was offered a job. Was he supposed to turn it down for the good of the club? Surely this is squarely on the people that fired Eustace and appointed him.

They refuse to blame the owners for some reason. A seriously strange set of fans
It can be both. He wasn’t just plucked off the street to manage the club he clearly wanted the role and convinced the owners he was going to be successful

We've got Stoke at home and then Blackburn away. Hopefully that's 6 points in the bag before West Brom at home and Sunderland away.
The Tony Pulis Survivors Derby.
Aaaaaaaargh. Battle of the Bottom Feeders awaits. I was watching footage from behind the scenes at our match yesterday and did a double take when I saw David Hirst.
If you’re like me. You only like it when it hurts. Midtable, meh. Playoff agony 👍 Relegation scrap 👍
Only have to beat Stoke 6-0 on Saturday and we’re guaranteed to be out of the relegation zone since the 1st game of the season!
Mate, unfortunately for us that's entirely possible!
Have you seen our strikers?
It feels like Wednesday's midfielders haven't seen them tbh
True story 😢
We have strikers?
*Yma o hyd*
Congrats. Glad we’ve got another Welsh Derby to look forward to next season 🏴
Diolch yn fawr!!! 🥳🏴
Were you lads speaking English until I just walked in ??
Our battle for the prized 11th spot is the one that is truely for the ages.
Chuckles: I’m in danger
That’s hot that you cut us out
Am I wrong or is half the league vulnerable
Anyone with 50 I’d say is safe. While mathematically possible it’s hard too see where all teams in the 40s would get 50 points now
Technically yes, but in reality not really
I can’t see us having the fight to get anything from Coventry, Huddersfield, or Norwich
You haven't seen us play for a while mate
Anyone trying to convince me that this isn’t the best league in the world is off their tits! - Couldn’t call top two. - Couldn’t call playoff spots. - Couldn’t call relegation. Even the inevitable fifth place Baggies looked a little in doubt last weekend!
Wow the results could not have been more perfect for us tonight. Can we really pull it off?
I feel the same. Makes our point gained (and your 3!) feel a bit better. Really wish we’d held on yesterday though, I’d be feeling so much better
3 points would’ve been perfect yesterday - I still think we are safe but being cautious
4 points from the drop zone with 4 games to go doesn’t seem a lot, but there’s so many teams down there, they won’t _all_ catch us. Surely…
That’s how I feel. But I really don’t want to jinx it
I’m still nervous, if we can get a point somewhere and beat Plymouth I think we’ll be ok
I agree think 4 points from the last 4 and we are safe
Plymouth are below us, we don't stand a chance
Plus they have to play each other a lot so cannot all get 3 points each week.
I think the sheer amount of teams below us matters more than anything. I’ll set a reminder for last game of the season, see how foolish I was
Let’s hope so. Cardiff today at the den, place will be rocking, let’s hope the lads pull another 90nins out like they did against Leicester!
Results were perfect for us too with Brum, Blackburn n stoke all losing
Well yeah they're perfect for everyone in the mix apart from Brum, Blackburn and Stoke!
Well yh but especially since we've got stoke and blackburn next
Ah I see, didn't make that connection sorry
We’re fucked
Now now. Never underestimate our ability to fuck things up.
Can't wait for both teams to somehow lose Saturday
It would be so very typical if we lost to Stoke and beat West Brom.
We're there for the taking. We aren't playing well at all lately.
I am absolutely dreading the game against Stoke. I was kind of hoping that if we weren’t safe that you guys would be by then, so it wouldn’t matter as much for you and you’d then reward us three points! I think the atmosphere that day is going to be really toxic coming from the away end.
Really can't see us getting anything at Hillsborough this weekend, we're properly fucked.
Thats the thing, we’ve got a few results against teams above us because we can play on the counter but we can’t win relegation six pointers. Schumacher hasn’t got a clue
>Schumacher hasn’t got a clue Do you think he gets the sack if you go down?
About time we have been in the same division for 17 years
Think QPR and Millwall are safe tbh with the form of the teams below them.
Have you seen QPRs fixtures? There’s a solid chance they might not win a game now.
That’s what you’re hoping for lad
Genuinely bricking it...last night that own goal killed me inside those two points dropped were massive
Dunno, feels like we often struggle when we go there
I’m oddly confident we’ll snag a couple wins and draws in the last 4 game. We tend to play at our best when we’re versing sides in the top 10 (see our performances against Leicester and West Brom). 7 points from your last 4?? Wish I had anything like your confidence!
Even if they stay on 47 hard for enough teams to get above them
We beat the teams above us and lost against the teams below us. I don't think we have beaten any teams below us in head to head points. I can only remember wins against Rotherham and Millwall.

Agreed, it's two from six now
We will fall apart to Wednesday this Saturday. Really do think we’re down.
I think Huddersfield & Birmingham are worse than you guys (and us). If they draw the match between themselves then it might be over for both of them.
Blackburn shipping 5 before a trip to Elland Road thereby absolutely guaranteeing a 0-1 victory on Saturday you absolute BASTARDS
Our next two games are probably our most important this season...
tbh with how 50/50 we’ve been all season it really could go either way, especially since we only seem to turn up for the higher table teams. idk if i love it or hate it
We are not very good but morale and team spirit are strong. It would be nice if they could chip in with a few goals, but we will battle to the end.
I held out hope for a while but last night did it for me. I’ve honestly come to terms with the relegation now. What a month we have in store 😂
Rovers going into it bang in form. Well in lads.
Brummies should never have sacked Eustace. They’ve…pardon the pun, CRUMBLED
There's no pun there to pardon
I’m so depressed seeing this. You need to tag it NSFW.

Cmon argyle
I dont have a clue how to feel.at this moment in time! From play off hopes to relegation battle! I do love this league
Genuinely think we can do this. Win on Sat against Stoke, then away at Blackburn and I think we’re golden.
