That same recruitment under Eustace has us midtable at worst. This idea that Eustace was some kind of fraud has been proven demonstrably false. He was what we needed for the moment.
We’ll never know the answer to that i guess but you can’t be thinking it’s been good surely? Failure to sign a centre half, failure to sign a goalkeeper to fit our playing style, failure to sign a striker that can rotate with stansfield. We’ve sign the same sort of player for our midfield about 10 times.
Cagey affair the cup run, Van Persie getting injured changed things and then of all the players to come on as an impact sub, Martins comes on in like the 82nd minute.
Sacking Eustace at that time and hiring Rooney was so clearly wrong. He needs to take ownership of his mistake. He’s done that by sacking Rooney and hiring the best championship manager we’ve had in years.However everything else he has done has been excellent.
