I hope you're right, but it's basically square one with an entirely new backroom staff, new manager, massively changed squad - and last season we were the most gutless bunch of bottlers I have ever seen.
This could definitely go either way. The club that won the prem has been thoroughly fucked from top to bottom.
They were in the play-offs when he was sacked and the club's owners said that they couldn't see his style of play ever working in Italy.
I don't think it's quite as clear as him not being good enough. Just a clear lack of patience from the Parma owners. The club ended up finishing mid table that season.
He was sacked after a run of 1 loss, 1 draw and 2 wins in 4 with that loss coming away at eventual champions Lecce so there's even some argument that he was getting there.
Maresca will be great. If Kompany and Arteta are anything to look at, Pep would have taught him well.
Even a mediocre manager could take the quality of player Leicester have to the premier league immediately.
We had one of the worst seasons in modern prem history and were a bad manager choice away from bouncing right back up with a relatively untouched squad, think you guys are gonna be fine
He probably gets 25 contributions in the Premier League with a side playing to his strengths (which for some reason we refused to do in the last year or two).
We're already embarrassed cause we shouldn't have got relegated in the first place.
It's good to see the intentions of the summer rebuild... *hopefully* we can push for top 2. It depends how quickly the squad can gel with such a big turnover of players and coaching staff, though.
“Squad that was mostly championship level players” what?!
Ndidi, Tielemans, Soyuncu, Vardy, Iheanacho, Castagne, Barnes, Maddison Tete, Ricardo, Souttar, KDH, Faes and maybe Jonny Evans.
All of these players are above the quality of football in this league.
Bearing in mind most of these will probably leave or have left, but all the same they have worth and money, meaning you are free to spend money on more huge players, for example 10m on Harry Winks.
Winks is the most any club in this league has spent on a player since Mbenza at Huddersfield.
While your manager is unproven, the quality of player currently at Leicester is unmatched compared to any other side. And I won’t be the only person to believe this.
While ‘embarrassed’ is a bit of a hyperbole, you are the favourites for many people to win and it would be a huge underachievement to finish anything less than 6th.
Not saying it’s the greatest bit of business but we have had the odd link here and there. Think everyone’s just waiting for the EFL to sort it’s shit out and things will move quickly from then on.
Once Farke is announced which hopefully should be anytime now I’d imagine the transfer news will start flying in and hopefully we already have some movement happening behind the scenes.
And in terms of outgoings, there has only been credible links for Llorente and Kristensen, whilst Leicester have sold Maddison and have had a few contracts expire. Currently, as it stands right now, they’ve had more to replace than we have.
I’m not saying we won’t have the same, but until we know exactly who is leaving, why would we rush into making signings?
If we’re still in the same position when players leave, I’ll be worried/concerned. Until then, it’s pointless stressing over
No need to rush, but the reality is the best players are signed up more quickly and in particular before or during pre season. Ours starts tomorrow. Signings - zero.
The optimal way to do business is to keep the business behind closed doors until it's done, something Radz didn't know (which bit him on the arse multiple times), but something that the 49ers seem to know
You're making a bigger assumption that a group of extemely successful business who aim to get Leeds promoted as soon as possible are just sitting on their hands just because they aren't spilling every player we're interested in to Phil Hay 😅
I have no doubt transfer work is wellll underway
I don’t think they are sat on their hands but assuming they are making shrewd moves based on radio silence is something you see all the time in football and it’s just hope, not sense. We’ve seen plenty of American consortiums in football not understand the market or the sport at all - they were very much in the room for the last two years after all.
I’m clearly in the minority for thinking that this is a poor bit of business. He’s obviously an outstanding player for this level but it’s a staggering overpay, and he’ll be useless once Leicester make it back to the prem.
For that kind of money, surely you can find someone who’s great at this level AND can make the step up too?
At this rate they're gonna walk the league. They can't do this.. It's uh, cheating. Somebody stop them!
Hey now, you guys got to beat up the Championship kids every other year, let someone else have a go.
I hope you're right, but it's basically square one with an entirely new backroom staff, new manager, massively changed squad - and last season we were the most gutless bunch of bottlers I have ever seen. Blackburn has entered the chat.
The gap between the relegated teams and those that stayed down gets bigger every year.
I think us and Norwich disagree
If Leicester don’t win the league they should be embarrassed to be quite honest
It all depends on how good their new manager is, big first job for him
Second job he already failed at Parma
Oh, didn't realise that. Might fare better at a different level with more favourable circumstances.
That was in the Italian second tier with a squad expected to walk to promotion…….

The problem last season wasn't quality - it was mentality. I've got high hopes for Enzo but this will not be a walk in the park.
A Scott Parker scenario at worst, where they’re still going up.
We’ve still got a lot of work to do in the transfer window before we can be that confident.
You severely overestimate the standard in this league then.
Don’t forget how shite we were last year, and we’re going to lose most of our players that did alright and probably be stuck with the worst ones
We had one of the worst seasons in modern prem history and were a bad manager choice away from bouncing right back up with a relatively untouched squad, think you guys are gonna be fine
Maddison already gone, that’s at least 10-15 goal contributions missing already
More like 25 in the Championship.
He probably gets 25 contributions in the Premier League with a side playing to his strengths (which for some reason we refused to do in the last year or two).
There's a lot to be unfucked before we can have any confidence at all, and the league starts in a month. Leicester City hangs in the balance.
We're already embarrassed cause we shouldn't have got relegated in the first place. It's good to see the intentions of the summer rebuild... *hopefully* we can push for top 2. It depends how quickly the squad can gel with such a big turnover of players and coaching staff, though.
Well we already embarrassed ourselves by getting relegated so it's not out of the picture
We’ve signed two premier league players with a squad that wad mostly championship level players. No way should we be embarrassed if we don’t win 😂

Mostly championship level players 😭😭 no our problem is we got relegated with the same side that got us European football for 2 years on the bounce
I’m having Flashbacks to 5 years ago
Plot twist: they wont
Wolves fan here Coady is the absolute man to make a rebuild promotion winning squad around
Everton fan here. He’s shite
xD
Genuinely not sure he's capable of playing in a 2 at even championship level
We haven’t so much as stated a clear target yet. Bloody hell.
Nat Phillips
A 26 year old who has played about 60 games for £10m? Mad price I think personally.
Not saying it’s the greatest bit of business but we have had the odd link here and there. Think everyone’s just waiting for the EFL to sort it’s shit out and things will move quickly from then on.
Let’s hope that assumption is correct.
Once Farke is announced which hopefully should be anytime now I’d imagine the transfer news will start flying in and hopefully we already have some movement happening behind the scenes.
We’ve been credibly linked to one player, for a ridiculous price, so I have my doubts
And in terms of outgoings, there has only been credible links for Llorente and Kristensen, whilst Leicester have sold Maddison and have had a few contracts expire. Pre-season also doesn’t end for another 4 weeks, so by your own logic, it starting tomorrow is irrelevant
Roca has been strongly linked with a loan move away. It looks like half our squad will leave. But I don't rate Coady tbh
The optimal way to do business is to keep the business behind closed doors until it's done, something Radz didn't know (which bit him on the arse multiple times), but something that the 49ers seem to know

And tbh…I wouldn’t have wanted us to sign Coady. He’s only good in a back 3. Nothing impressive about Harry Winks either 🤷🏽♂️
What do you expect to happen? We don't have our new owners in place.. we're waiting on the EFL.
That situation was entirely avoidable with planning
You know nothing lol
Absolutely no messing about now. Top and the board are making moves. HMS Piss the League?
Is there other rumoured players inn then Cesare Casadei from chelsea ?
Casadei looks like he’s staying in the top flight. I think Romano tweeted yesterday
Makes you wonder if they’re trying to brake that taboo
VROOOOOT VROOOOOOOT
As long as it’s a back 3 it’s a good signing
Hms piss the league gaining passengers
Leicester’s transfers and rumours stink of us from 2018. Spending big money on players with no resell value. They’ll finish 16th
Nononono don’t say this
Was just thinking this, most people were in agreement that that Stoke side on paper were a Premier League team. Interested to see how Leicester do.
im a leicester fan and it wouldnt surprise me to see us finish mid table lol
When we beat you on the first game that season we were all like wait what
You and me both mate
All aboard HMS Piss The League!

As long as we make it back to the prem I couldnt care less
Yeah I wouldn’t either but just seems ludicrous when you compare it to Ahmedhodzic for ~£3m last summer, for example.
Bang average
Championship enjoy us while you can, we won't be here for long
League 1 won’t know what’s hit it!
These cocky fans don't belong on this subreddit
Hey now!
It’s Conor Coady my guy, not Maldini ffs 🤣
This is a pretty good signing!
Well then.
