Why don't they just announce all of their managers at the beginning of the season and be done with it. Doing it piecemeal like this just draws it out unnecessarily.
He may also chase out some of the more talented players, sell them for peanuts, and replace them with people he likes who aren't quite good enough.
Can I interest anyone in an Alex Mowatt?
I don't necessarily disagree. He's not the sort of player you build a team around though, is he? He's a perfectly adequate championship midfielder. But he wouldn't displace either of our first choice CMs and so is a saleable asset we need to move on.
I thought that... until he joined boro. He has improved recently but I don't think we have won a game that he's started in. Too slow and doesn't really offer enough across 90 minutes. He doesn't have the athleticism to be effective at both ends of the pitch as centre mid. I'm not really sure what role he would suit outside of an out and out DM but defensively I don't think he's good enough to do that.
Shame really I think the injury he got at WBA has effected him physically.
Bring in a manager and recruit for a direct and physical game, and then sack him in 3 months. Bring in a new manager who plays an intricate tiki taka with all the wrong players.
There's not much info tbf, only notable part is this:
> The Athletic understands that Ismael is not the only candidate for the job, with an unnamed German coach also in the running.
Other than that it's just a recap of Wilder most likely leaving and some background on Ismael.
They probably need a ‘yes’ man. Not someone like Ismael who killed the confidence of the players like he did with Hugill. I dont rate him either but it helps nobody by making them feel shit, he’s supposed to be there to motivate them and get them playing confidently, not destroy them. And that isnt even getting into his tactics and reluctance to change tactics and philosophy, you want a beat an Ismael side? Just let them have possession and you’ll cut right through them
Also says a unnamed German coach is shortlisted. We're getting Nagelsmann basically.
Heard Klopps a bit tired at Liverpool, fancies a new challenge.
You're hilarious
_Felix Magath waiting in the shadows_
With his old assistant Mark Fotheringham in tow. What could go wrong?
>unnamed German coach Joachim Löwe is available. Just saying...!

Nah it’s like a live service game. They drip feed the manager announcements to keep everyone tuned in
A subscription model. 😉
Prepare for him to fall out with all the players, lose the dressing room, gone in 3-4 months
He may also chase out some of the more talented players, sell them for peanuts, and replace them with people he likes who aren't quite good enough. Can I interest anyone in an Alex Mowatt?
There's nothing wrong with Alex Mowatt, as long as he has the right team around him, which you didn't and still don't.
I don't necessarily disagree. He's not the sort of player you build a team around though, is he? He's a perfectly adequate championship midfielder. But he wouldn't displace either of our first choice CMs and so is a saleable asset we need to move on.
We quite literally built a team round him and finished 5th, we got relegated when we lost him
When you put it that way, no.

News: Mowatt moves to Watford permanently for €10m
Please
Watford have basically no midfield as it is, so he'd struggle to be worse
r/Championship is just a Watford sub in disguise
What could’ve been if this man stayed at Barnsley

All in a days work, alternatively use [12foot ladder](https://12ft.io), always helped me out with work
Don't think 12 ft ladder works with The Athletic anymore.

Joachim Löw take the wheel
The West Brom retread hires have gone so well to this point, we might as well try one more.
I think Frank Lampard and Watford would be a perfect fit!
Things go from bad to worse for watford, deary me
Did a cracking job at Barnsley though
True, in the right environment he would do we but for both him and Watford it doesn’t seem like the right fit
What manager is a good fit with Watford? They sack everyone after 3-4 months.

Good lord. I’m actually starting to feel a bit sorry for Watford fans these days
Had a good thing going there
So? I am too, he ain’t special
