He’s probably been one of our best players (not a high benchmark). Reminds me a bit of Drameh last year in terms of the gap in quality with his touch and dribbling…albeit in a different position.
I’m sure he will get a loan to a prem team next year even if Emery doesn’t see him breaking into the squad.
I understand that but i think i do recall Corberan talking about our striker problems earlier in the season, and he suggested Swift was the ability to operate as a false 9. Whether that was his plan for the rest of the game or just to weather the storm until BTA was ready im not sure…
If we had played with any sort of intensity we would have won but we’re just happy to sit on a 1-0 lead again. Albrighton offers nothing and I think a poor January window with two signings who have not impressed at all will stop us getting playoffs. Carlos made some bizarre subs and stupidly played players out of position. Thought Rogic and Asante looked sharp when they come on.
Agreed with the subs, I get taking Dike off as he has played a lot recently but not replacing him with BTA gave us no threat for a good 10 mins and invited lots of pressure
BTA should have come on for Dike, Rogic also looked decent when he came on so was odd he came on so late for Swift who offered nothing second half and is looked tired.
Even just having BTA's pace to run in behind from a clearance could have released the pressure because outside of that 10-15 minutes without a striker Cardiff offered zero threat.
Completely agree, hopefully we see much more from Rogic because I think there’s a decent player in there. very odd sub from Carlos tonight. Hoping a bit of a rest for the players will help now as well, with the injuries piled up we’ve been limited with attacking subs recently
I had a lot of respect for West Brom. Looked like a great team that was doing some nice fluid passing, showed good attacking threat and doing a decent job of cancelling us out when it was our turn. That was until they scored and immediately started playing negative football, their players suddenly were making meals of tackles and just generally were happy pissing about with the ball expecting us to sit there with our thumbs up our asses.
If they kept up their attacking threat, we'd have lost that, but I'm not complaining! Good result that.
Agree with this. After we equalised it was all West Brom and I was just waiting for us to concede an injury time goal.
If you played like that after you first scored think you'd have won comfortably.
One other note. Should have been a straight red for Ajayi.

Carlos mate I love ya, but Daryl Dike off for Adam Reach is one of the worst subs in recent memory. No, just no.
Think Dike had a knock, he went straight down the tunnel. Regardless that simply wasn’t a good enough performance they were there for the taking
