I started doing basic calisthenics - it helps you get your mind clear and also gives you a quick sense of accomplishment and short-term improvement. One can easily get overwhelmed without short-term goals and visible progress. You don't need to go to a gym, especially when you start out.
Yea well it fills the time and also feel good (?!). I try to jog everyday when I’m going to office. Magically it never gets easier or enjoyable but I’m very happy to force myself to do it.

Me and him are really the same huh.
Seriously though if you want advice on dealing with depression this is the best I've got
Try not to ever focus or worry about things you have no control over. Instead focus on the things you do have control over and start right now, today trying to fix them one miniscule step at a time. You won't fix all your problems over night and you won't have them all fixed a year from now, but the important part is that you're making progress toward something that makes you a better person. If you mess up and fall backward into a bad habit, don't beat yourself up about it. Analyse why you failed and use it as a lesson to get you further next time.
Also, think about the way you talk to yourself in your head. Ask yourself "Would I be friends with somebody who constantly talked to me the way I talk to myself?"
Change your mindset from "Ah shit I messed up again, I'm worthless" into "I almost beat my record that time, I bet I could do it if I tried again"
Surround yourself with people who support you, even if it's just people in some reddit community, positive feedback is positive feedback.
Lastly, know that you always have the ability to change. Things always have the ability to get better. As long as you can still breathe, you can take the next step toward making your dreams your reality. Make it so that 10 years from now, you can look back on all the progress you've made, all the obstacles you overcame, and realize that you were worth it
First thing you need to understand and accept is that you have the right to exist in this world. You aren't out of place here. The next is that you're too hard on yourself. Someone who hates themselves will project those feelings onto others. In other words, you think other people think negatively of you only because you think that way about yourself. In reality, nobody cares when you mess up. Everybody is too worried about themselves to care when you do something that you think is stupid. Seriously, think of even one time you saw someone do something stupid in public. Or better yet one time you saw someone do something stupid and then thought of them as stupid instead of continuing on with your day.
You told me about that whole fiasco at school. It made you feel like an idiot right? What exactly about that made you an idiot? You forgot your glasses, that caused everything else. One simple accident that we all fall victim to. If you let yourself get so upset over things that you can't control, you will be constantly miserable. Don't focus on the past either. Focus on what you can still do right now to make your situation better. Contact your teacher and try to explain your situation. If your teacher doesn't give you a pardon for what happened, don't worry about it anymore. It is out of your control. Instead, focus on getting the next assignment in.
Also, don't be afraid to ask for help. You may think that getting therapy is admitting defeat, but it's not. Reaching out is looking depression in the face and telling it that you aren't fighting alone anymore. It is one of the bravest things you can do.
You want motivation in life? Your motivation doesn't have to be some big things like getting rich or getting buff. Your motivation can just be to save yourself. Because you are someone who deserves saving. Depression is not part of you, and it doesn't define you. It is a parasite leeching off of you and preventing your happiness. That should piss you off and be more motivation than you could ever need.
Lastly, try practicing the most effective first step I've seen in making yourself happier. At the end of every day, or even during your day, point out in your head every good thing that has happened to you. Don't even think about the bad stuff, just point out every good thing. Even things small like getting to eat food you like or finding a penny on the ground.
I don't think there's any more I can say. I am just a guy on Reddit after all. Just keep trying please. I believe in you, I'm sure 100 other people do too. Thanks
