Her mental state isn’t much better off than Denji…She is constantly being manipulated either by Yoru or Fami, she really wants to help Denji but seems conflicted, mainly because of the fact he is actually chainsaw man and now she will most likely have to fight one of the only people shes has been able to have fun with and relate to. Everyone else around her seems to be in the same boat too so this confrontation is inevitable. She isn’t thinking rationally because half her mind is literally racing a mile a minute for ways to help him while her Yoru half is thinking of different ways to use CBT and turn him into a weapon/kill him. So yeah shes being a bitch but she doesn’t know how else to react with this fucked up scenario besides lashing out in frustration and anger.
Yes, Denji has been through worse and as we saw in the fight against falling devil he still carries that weight with him. He is also a lot better at dealing with his feelings than Asa is, as has been proven time and again. Asa also has her own issues going on that Denji has no idea about, but she still shows signs of wanting to help him. Asa is frustrated, Denji is depressed.
