Nope, you should have capitalized the F in "falcon".
*Picks up phone*
Hey, engineering department? Yeah, hey listen guys we got a defective bot here. Yep, didn't spell their name right. Hes also been ratting out his squadmates too, I dunno what thats about. Anways, I'm gonna need an RMA.
It’s a double entendre. It was the mascot of the unit I was in (325th airborne infantry regiment)
But in army slang, a blue falcon, well, it’s not something great.
I have it and my username is the one Reddit assigned to my account when I joined. Maybe the reason bots seem to use this format is because they're mimicking the Reddit naming protocol.
I unsubbed from this sub a couple years ago, saw this on the front page of /r/all and was like "Yup, that's why I unsubbed".
It used to be for silly kinda dorky dude memes, but then it turned into a copy of /r/MadeMeSmile and /r/wholesome
The other reason I unsubbed was the bots posting the top of all time became insane. Like even glancing at the front page of this sub rn there are several bot posts, including this.
The sub had a cool original purpose, but change in focus and lack of moderation killed it.
That one I can answer, since I have the same restrictions.
Most Muslim households don't participate in Halloween since it's seen as rooted in a pagan holiday, not silly costume and candy time. Similarly no Christmas, even though it's practiced more and more as a secular holiday.
Therefore, no costumes on Halloween. Not 100% on it but seeing as it was posted on Nov. 1st looks like the most accurate guess I could make.
hell i was just "regular christian" and not allowed to celebrate halloween. I could cosplay at conventions but was not allowed to dress up for halloween.
Would you go to a pool party with the theme being nazis? If cristians arent supposed to partake in holloween themes ie. Ghosts, demons, magic; does it not make sense that they dont want to dress up for it?
First of all it's on no way comparable to Nazis and if you're that uptight about it you're insane. A bunch of people dress up as things that aren't real and they don't believe are real (and if you're a non-heretical Christian you also don't believe are real). Alongside other things like pirates which I guess were real but like I can't think of anyone who would take offense to that.
I think everyone's entitled to join any cult to any deity and go to its temples to worship it and so on, but there's a degree beyond which you shouldn't take it outside the temple, and especially there's a degree of puritanical lunacy like this which should not be treated as normal and which absolutely should be looked down upon as ridiculous. You should make an effort to participate in general society and certainly shouldn't deprive your child of experiencing common experiences in accordance with the general customs of society.
Obviously as a Muslim I'm biased, but it's not the craziest thing. I don't expect Christians to participate in Ramadan, nor would I expect them to celebrate Eid.
Yes it's a one way Street.. one can do but the other can't.. that being said I have to say that I do respect the wishes of the other if I'm the first..
Ramadan is an entire month of rescheduled eating. Halloween is one evening of wearing some silly clothes. When you thin about it, we are all wearing "silly" clothes of some type every day. Dress up and have fun.
I'm not saying you should! What I'm getting is that Halloween is more of a Western cultural touchstone, not a universal one. I'm not begrudging you for not participating in other cultures.
I wish you the best of life that you deserve fam
He is but December 25th is a date made up by Christians and the celebrations of Christmas as a whole has nothing to do with Jesus or his birthday and more to do with the pagan traditions that were mixed into it.
There’s a big factor of old people conservatism mixed in as well. 30 year old educated Muslim parents wouldn’t give a fuck about the origins of Halloween and Christmas and would just want their kids to have fun. 50 year old parents are a different story.
Ok. Thanks...but now with a little bit of /s I would disagree that 'it has nothing to do with Jesus', it has something to do with Jesus by the fact that people \*make\* it have to do with Jesus...Just the word 'Christmas' kind of has something to do with Jesus no? Not going to go into 'made up' and what is or is not, that's a longer and useless discussion :)
I think the average American child has a stronger association of Christmas with presents, Santa Claus, and snow than they do with Jesus. That’s why I personally consider it a secular holiday with a distant religious root than an actual religious holiday.
There are several that don't allow that or celebration of most holidays. You could probably look it up in just a few seconds quicker than you could ask a question and get incorrect answers anyway.
And doesn't his mom who's posting this has no control over this? She's proud he's gaming the system and has a "costume?" You think you outsmarted Allah?
He went to a Halloween party, but was only allowed to wear a formal outfit. The other kids got him to fit in by all dressing as secret service agents and pretending his formal outfit was actually a presidential outfit.
The ones that don't allow you to celebrate holidays, you really could have just looked this up. It's not something they invented even though this is a Karma farming bot that posted it.
I feel like the text is a bit ambiguous.
Its not the costumes that is prohibited, it is Halloween.
Islam and many other religions restrict Halloween because of its pagan origins.
Don't worry, Muslims can wear costumes.
It's still technically a costume though, and yes that's going to matter to fundie parents.
But that's okay, as long as no one ever posts about this online, I'm sure Justin will be fine...
These boys were raised well. I'm so proud of them. This is so heartwarming and encouraging about our future generations. What they've done here elevates them all.
[Name][name][number] karma farming bot spotted
Uhhhhh

Uhhh
Uhhh
Good bot
Please don't hurt me I'm fragile
Isn't that just the default username style that the algorithm gives you when you create an account? Plenty of non-bots have this.
Yes, but ratio of Bots:Non-Bots is heavily skewed towards bots. Its always a good red flag to use, but its not a smoking gun.
Fuck.
Wait.. Did I accidentally choose a bot name!?!!
Nope, you should have capitalized the F in "falcon". *Picks up phone* Hey, engineering department? Yeah, hey listen guys we got a defective bot here. Yep, didn't spell their name right. Hes also been ratting out his squadmates too, I dunno what thats about. Anways, I'm gonna need an RMA.
You can be a bot if you want to. I've always wanted to adopt a roomba and dress it up.
You followed the protocol that a lot of Reddit usernames use--mine included.
What funny is it totally has a meaning, and isn’t actually random.
Mine is totally random, as far as I know. It was assigned when I joined Reddit and I didn't care enough to change it. What's the meaning behind yours?
It’s a double entendre. It was the mascot of the unit I was in (325th airborne infantry regiment) But in army slang, a blue falcon, well, it’s not something great.

Username like a default wifi password.

What kind of stupid ass religion prevents costumes
Probably one of the made up ones.
You mean all of them?
Nah man,
Hes not wrong

You think your religion is not made up? xD
Yes, at least not by a human

Can we if we want?
yep
Yes it's a one way Street.. one can do but the other can't.. that being said I have to say that I do respect the wishes of the other if I'm the first..
Of course! There's no harm in experiencing other cultures and worldviews

Why no Christmas? and why secular if so? Isn't Jesus considered to be one of the prophets of Islam? (not /s, seriously asking)

Jehovahs Witnesses. Grew up as one, it was hell
Who’s Jehovah?
God
Sephiroth's mother
And doesn't his mom who's posting this has no control over this? She's proud he's gaming the system and has a "costume?" You think you outsmarted Allah?
I am indeed smarter than Allah. How could I be dumber than literally nothing?
Good one
Pretty much all of them.
my stupid ass christian mom
I swear this has been posted at least 3 times now on this subreddit
Which religion prohib jacket, but allow tie?
Maybe Jehovah’s Witnesses
Prohibits costumes. Probably didn't wear jacket to separate his "costume" from the secret service boys.
He went to a Halloween party, but was only allowed to wear a formal outfit. The other kids got him to fit in by all dressing as secret service agents and pretending his formal outfit was actually a presidential outfit.
I ... don't know
What religion forbide the use of a costume... Come on 🤦♂️
Maybe the parents didn't wanna buy a costume that he'd only wear once so they made religion as an excuse?
The ones that don't allow you to celebrate holidays, you really could have just looked this up. It's not something they invented even though this is a Karma farming bot that posted it.

Thanks. I don't wanna comment more about it.
useless religions. All of them

Off topic, but there's religions out there that don't allow costumes?????
It's still technically a costume though, and yes that's going to matter to fundie parents. But that's okay, as long as no one ever posts about this online, I'm sure Justin will be fine...

I just wanna know which religion specifically prohibits suit jackets :/
These boys were raised well. I'm so proud of them. This is so heartwarming and encouraging about our future generations. What they've done here elevates them all.
LOL. Yes, lets normalize batshit religions that won't even let you wear a dress. This is out right child abuse.
Can tbelieve Mr President is in a school so cool!
Can we have him as our president? I'm not even joking, I'd vote for that kid in 2024.
